Reding this thread, 95% of comments start with "i never liked this guy", then they double down on the belief of rape.

I actually don't have a problem with his views. The rumours about him have been circulating for years, and since when has it been impossible that a guy who speaks "truth-to-power" can't also have a track-record of dubious sexual behaviour?

Like I said, the main reason why I'm giving the allegations some credence is that he's always been quick to get his lawyers involved in any controversy. Which should set alarm bells ringing as he's always traded on his reputation as a womanizer.

My suggestion is to wait and see who steps up to defend him, and who notably doesn't. When the other "exiles" from the UK comedy circuit speak up, I'll listen. But if they stay silent, or worse confirm any part of the story, then I'd take that as a very bad sign.

Again, I'm old enough to gauge the temperature of the room. It's just information and words. Don't be offended that I get information from multiple sources when I even have the time to do it. My point is that I don't mind him and I don't have an opinion either way and that's the way I think about most of the media and stuff like that. And I wish I did but all that kind of stuff gives me a headache. Not a big fan of the politics and I wish I had a switch or a finger to snap everything back into place and make the world better but the reality is I don't have the patience and I'm not cut like that simply because I have my playful with things that I have.

It's a grander point but I don't think a lot of people think any differently than me when they want to make change for the better. He has not proceeded with defamation action against Dispatches or The Times.

This is not some grand conspiracy to 'silence' Russell Brand for what he says on a YouTube channel. If you believe that, you're falling for conspiracy bullshit.

This is a situation with a large weight of evidence against a man who has always sued in the past for defamatory comments.

Police have urged people to come forward in the light of the allegations, so I'd imagine we'll see more on that front quite soon. This is how they got Saville.

If you can find me a case where this many people have come forward over such a large period of time, and where an investigation of this type and scale has been carried out, with a TV show like that being aired which would open everyone up to defamation - where the celebrity accused was found innocent of charges in the end, I'l happily take a look at it.

I am not one of those people to try somebody in the court of public opinion but the sheer amount of women who have cone forward who have no connection to each other and are from different timelines is overwhelming.
