Next gen, discs are going to be second fiddle to digital unfortunately.

Disc drives will probably be sold separately to those who want them next gen.

Not a pro console, but I guess im okay with that

Was only ever going to get one pro console (ps5) while keeping my XSX for exclusives

Controller has no adaptive triggers either

That's too bad refresh is only digital. Got too many physical disks (mostly Xbox OG and 360, but not only that) to upgrade.

Also can't wait to see Fallout 3 and Oblivion remakes/remasters/whatever.

Edit: Oh damn, missed Ghostwire Tokyo sequel. That's great news, I actually liked the first game. And of course Dishonored 3 will be great to see (just don't Redfall it).

Thankfully that is where we have the PC crowd. Since all games are usually day and date for Xbox on PC, we should be able to preserve games still. Unless they go full cloud, which clearly is their intent.
 
Where's the email about Phil Spencer wanting to buy Valve AND Nintendo? Pretty huge they have the cash and ability and could absolutely do it.

The Valve one is more realistic than Nintendo.

Time to get Salty GPU friends.
 
Without a disc drive I wouldn't upgrade my current Series X for this. I'll just look into getting an Elite version of the new controller which I expect will be released down the line.

PS5 Pro will really outshine this thing though.

Looks like just it's a digital only refresh in a new shell, double the SSD space and energy savings. Same power. Hard pass.

Best feature is double the storage space. So forget about those overpriced Seagate cards.
 
So the geniuses at Microsoft know that Sony is planning to launch a PS5 Pro at $499, and they are still planning to launch a Series X refresh with the same specs, just more storage, for $499 to release alongside it?

Holidays 2024 we will have fun time DF's comparision, 350$ xss vs new ps5 slim and refreshed but same old specs xsx vs ps5pr0, that will be huge advantage to sony machines in both cases =D
 
Fallout 3 remaster is nice but I already plowed through 90% of the map.

For those of you who still didn't play it, just wait for the remaster. The old game will be buggy and archaic. A revamped version should tidy things up.
 
Ew. A next-gen console based around combining local client and cloud? My internet sometimes goes out, Microsoft. Please don't make a cloud-based console in any fashion.

But man, these FTC leaks are absolutely wild. That new controller looks pretty cool, though.

The writing has been on the wall for Xbox to be an all digital console since the original vision of the Xbox One.

Now it looks like the future of Xbox will be cloud based.

Finally gyro in the controller. Let's see if devs take advantage. I also like the direct wifi feature. I play in the cloud a good bit when tv is on use, I wonder if this will slightly enhance that experience.

Looks like a bluetooth speaker lol. It's whatever, I don't need this so I won't be getting it. Interesting that it says no change to price though despite removing quite a big feature.
 
The most important information revealed here that I'm happy about is having a Fallout 3 remaster and knowing Dishonored IP hasn't been shelved. Otherwise, I'll stick with my current XSX and possibly get the new controller as long as price stays the same.
