I play games on a 4k display and 1440p dlss quality vs 4k dlss quality is a massive difference in IQ on a large 65 inch screen.
My next upgrade is going to be a 5080 which better be 20% faster than the 4090.

I know 5070/80/90 just not sure which one, depends on price/perf ratio, if its like this gen then 5090 will be ez choice despite price, 4k monitor so only can go with 70 or 80 grade card if they are relatively close to the 90 but doubt its gonna happen

Gaf was shitting on 4070TI bcuz they actually believed VRAM will be an issue based on some shitty ports, yet CDPR has proven that even the highest tech on the market does not need high VRAM assuming ofc you're playing at 1440p which is still above the standard as most gamers based on Steam survey are still at 1080p and will most likely be for many years.

There will always be exclusive settings. See: Path Tracing. The 4070ti is far behind, even in 1440p.

Yeah my primary gaming screen is 1440p and the 4070Ti is an absolute monster at that res. Cyberpunk with all the bells and whistles looks amazing.
I do also have a 4K TV hooked up to it, which is mostly for when I play something co-op or want to sit on the couch. But even then I usually just keep it in 1440p and mirror the screen for simplicity's sake.

Naturally that would be true and I'm certain that some people probably could have discerned that on their own.
I'm sure there are some outliers but for the most part you would expect that if you turn the resolution down to 1440 and then combine that with some dlss, that gives you probably close to equal performance at 4K settings on a 4090.
If you are running your native resolution with dlss or not, it's always going to look pretty good you are playing it. Unless you are upscaling or playing at too low of a resolution. It's good to know and I guess if you want to try to sell that particular GPU on that merit, not too bad. Although I would say that the 4070 TI will run into some walls due to the lack of memory versus a 4090. So it can't overcome everything in every instance in order to match performance but it's good that they actually said it on their podcast.

? Brother, I am playing CP2077 with PT on and DLSS on balanced and I average on 90+FPS. I can easily go with quality and would still have it well above 70FPS. Vram barely reaches 10GB usage. 1440p, 4070TI. Go back to your cave.

5080 being equal to a 4090 (but with less VRAM) is what you get if you're really lucky. At >$1000.
Nvidia have found that they can sell shit for >$1000 and people will buy it. So that's what the GPU market will look like from now on.

That's all fantastic, but re-read what you said:
A GPU isn't automatically future proof because it runs one game that excels in a specific rendering aspect adequately. There will be other games down the line that do require higher VRAM which will allow for better animation, textures, geometry, etc. than Cyberpunk can offer. GPU purchasers will need to consider their prospective requirements as well.

As long as we're stuck with the current gen PS5's and XBOX, games on PC will never and should never require high amounts of VRAM, unless you're using settings such as texture quality that go beyond standard resolutions, such as 4k/8k. Maybe you should re-read what I said. I never said the 4070TI is future proof. Nothing is future proof, however as long as games are visually less than CP2077's tech(animations, path-tracing, etc.) and what I previously mentioned, then high VRAM usage has no place.

I feel like a moron for it, believe me. The 4080 had I not had about 800 dollars in gift cards and 300 dollars in credit card cash back awards I'd have stayed away from it, it's a joke card especially compared to a 4070ti, but with the way this industry as a whole is going I'm happy with my PS5 being my last console and my PC being "it" in terms of what I want, especially with ARM being on the horizon to disrupt the market.
Starting to understand retro gamers who just bow out and emulate.

I dont buy a GPU every year. I have a 3080 and I am not going to buy a 40 series card. My next upgrade will be 5080 which i simply want to be 20% faster than the flagship 40 series card. Just like how the 4080 was 20% faster than the 3090 Ti. that should give me roughly a 100-110% performance boost compared to what i have today.

Nope. The 4070Ti is around 60% performance of a 4090 at half the price or under.
I got my 4070Ti for £600 which is still A LOT for a graphics card and would never pay close to 1K on one component to play some games never mind 1.5K.
