This is ESA's video game market analysis for 2023, which was published a few days ago on their website. There are some very interesting findings in it, especially regarding the gaming behavior of Gen Z and Gen Alpha.

The older gamers number will go up organically as we age tbh, the first and second generation.

Motivations for games -> take notes developers.

majority of boomers played on PC compared to console, perhaps that is why alot of those indie shooter games (like duke nukem or quake like games) are on steam?
I personally think the duke nukem era gamers would love those indie shooter games.

Noticed still alot of young people still interested console which is cool for me.

Game translations are getting super common these days too. Literally thousands of PS2 and earlier games just waiting to be translated and enjoyed for the first time.
