Ubisoft Makes 2B Look Like a Man in Rainbow Six Siege

Her proportions are way off. Does Square or whoever have to sign off and approve the models for these kind of collaborations?

Nintendo is infamously meticulous about how other people handle their IP, and it's for reasons like this.

Yeah, I saw that. That's gross. She looks like a he. I'm not even a Nier Automata fan and I'm offended. How do you take one of the most attractive game characters and turn her into ... that?

edit: Ok, never mind. Apparently this isn't the de-beautification agenda it appeared to be at first glance. Moving on...

Uhhh. The 2B Elite set for Siege came out awhile ago and the model is from another character simply wearing the same outfit as 2B.

The character that gets the outfit is Iana, and she isn't exactly attractive in the first place.

EDIT: actually came out over 2 years ago:

Again: They didn't take the 2B character and do anything. They simply gave one of their operators her outfit.
Clearly some BS YouTuber drama for some views now. I don't know why OP is saying upcoming collaboration.

Hilarious how quick people are to eat this shit up without ANY validation or fact checking.

I bet it is because problems with the hurtbox of the characters, giving advantage to 2B players. Visual clarity and shit also. Doesn't make it less ugly tho.

Here's the official announcement. This is real.

Here's the explanation according to PCGamesN: This is not 2B but G2 (?)

Gaming titan and Neir icon Yoko Taro has addressed fan concerns, however, writing that this YoRHa is not, in fact, 2B. Instead, it is G2, an all new YoRHa class. "I had a costume collaboration with Rainbow Six. I think you can play G2 instead of 2B," he writes. This begs the question: why not 2G, like 2B?

"YoRHa's Gunner type exists only in the prototype model, and the prototype model is named in the same order as A2, in the order of 'type name and number,' so if number two has a Gunner type, the model number will be 'G2,'" he replies, and given he's the brainchild behind all things Neir, I'll take his word on it. This also means that the Iana skin is now canon in the Nier universe, which is pretty damn cool.

Doesn't make a lick of sense why they wanted to do this. Nobody will understand this reasoning, all people see is 2B being cosplayed by a tranvestite.

That is definitely not 2B, it's a man dressed in drag, YUCK 🤮

WTF is wrong with Western devs? Geezus Christ. They didn't even try to make the Ubisoft "2B" look female with this one.

No wonder Ubisoft and a lot of Western studios are crashing and burning while Eastern studios are finding new success and markets this gen.

If G2 is because she is a gunner, then G2 was already in Nikke and this is how she looked.

Even if it's old news, it's still relevant today that all the DEI crap they've been doing for years has blown up in their faces. If giving visibility to this makes ubisoft get some well deserved shit, I can only rejoice.

Again, it's not supposed to be 2B. It's literally one of the operators in the game simply wearing the same (or very close to the same) outfit.

Could the character they had already created looked more attractive? Sure. And I believe at the time that character (Iana) didn't have an Elite set yet, so they gave it to her instead of a more attractive character (like IQ or Ela) because she already had a few.

So no, Ubisoft didn't uglify 2b. They simply have her outfit to one of the uglier characters.

They did the same thing with characters from other games. Including several Resident Evil characters. They gave their outfits to the operators in Siege.
I wonder where the "THEY MADE LEON FROM RE UGLY!" topics and videos are at.

Ubisoft has no talent and no taste, and hopefully soon no solvency.

Western AAA developers/publishers need to continue getting their asses kicked.

10 years ago, Ubisoft said they didn't had enough resources to create female animations and models in assassin's Creed. Today, it seems they still don't.

Looks like a costume for an existing Character instead of a designer going "This is what 2B should look like in the R6 universe"

Having said that, this seems misguided. Unless this model was intentionally chosen to illicit controversy.

That IS what it was. 2 Years ago. Being brought up again for controversy.

Nobody batted an eye when this was revealed and released. Now people are twisting the facts.

I think the funniest thing about this is that, as someone pointed out - they revealed this shit like a year+ ago. Apparently the game is so thoroughly uninteresting at this point that nobody even noticed until now.
