Irrelevant distinction. The whole premise of the thread is whether or not the recent drama and 'pronoun campaign' has soured people off playing the game. People who are fundamentally opposed to a game wouldn't even be downloading it.
Eh, "free" will get people to try a lot of things they may not necessarily particular like/want. Actually paying $ is a whole different deal.

It's an Obsidian game, i'll definitely check it out. I dont have a boner for Elon Musk so i'm not offended by the comments made against him.

I had no interest in this one before, so no change for me.

But it still blows my mind that an employee of a company can say this shit publicly and they aren't instantly fired. I don't get how the management can possibly allow this to fly.

Maybe someday when the price drops and there's time. It's coming out at such a bad time that it simply has no chance, I try not to buy more than 1-2 games a month at most so the stack doesn't accumulate, аnd it looks like I'll have to buy 2 or 3 at once...
And if I choose between KCD 2, Civilization or Monster Hunter and this game, guess in one try what the choice will fall on =)
Therefore my answer is - No.

Don't even know the game, only the outrage regarding Musk. I'd say fuck it. If it didn't build anticipation in me still, it won't matter to me.

Didn't care about the game before the drama. Every time I saw it mentioned, I thought "didn't this already release?" Definitely don't care about it now.

Yeah I'll check it out unless reports get much worse. The Environments and stuff remind me a bit of EverQuest, more than other games have and I miss EverQuest. I'll at least give it a try and run around for a bit.

I was excited for the game, now I will wait for reviews. Autistic screeching from one retard doesn't necessarily mean the game will be bad, but we've seen this one before.

The most depressing thing about Microsoft's Bethesda and Obsidian acquisitions isn't the lukewarm slop they've been churning out since - it's the amazing games that they didn't make instead. It would've been such a slam dunk win to get Obsidian to make Fallout: New Vegas 2, yet instead we're stuck with this Game Pass fodder.

Sometimes big corporations need to crack the whip to deliver the hype products people actually want.

Well I don't know - there's a pretty big barrier to entry. First, I have to click download in the Xbox app. Then, I have to wait for it to download. Then I have to click Play.

A man only has so much time.

I want to separate the game and the creator. If the game is good and doesn't do stupid stuff like Veilguard, it's ok. But yeah, there's a lot of red flags rising currently.

I was luke warm on it before because I don't typically like 1st person RPGs/melee games. But most likely it will be a "No" despite having GamePass.
I'm more receptive to Indiana Jones because of the IP despite the 1st person pov.

dei becoming brand poison being confusing to some people is really fun to watch

they have to squirm and pretend it's not happening and that it doesn't matter to product perception

and somehow rail against it as if it's the people rejecting dei that are doing something crazy, not the multi-million dollar companies that can't get their heads out of their asses

like all we're doing is saying "i dont like this", not buying the game, and making fun of it

pronouns are a red flag but they might never come up again after the character creation screen

the mentality and behaviour of the devs is the more obvious sign that the game won't be fun for me. I don't wanna get burned again like with outer worlds

Once PS5 is confirmed and if it's good, yes. I've been borrowing games from my local library which stock PS5 games. No reason not to try it if it's a good game. I'll watch a few videos before I do so. I highly doubt I will buy it though but pronouns in the game will not sway me enough to not play it if it's a great game. As many have said, it's a red flag but that's how I look at it.

However, nowadays, I treat all games with red flags until I at least see how they play.

I thought the game didn't look great, but was waiting for reviews.

After finding out it's a woke-agenda game by "accept our made-up pronouns, or else" people - hell no.

No. It's not because they have pronouns or anything surface level like that - it's because their approach to that kind of stuff and their obnoxious behavior whenever they open their mouths suggests that this is going to be yet another garbage-ass Western AAA game.

And I was on the fence - I wanted the game to be good because I like the subgenre and am a big fan of Obsidian's older work (namely the PoE games). This has "dud" written all over it now.

Where's the option for "wait and see how the game turns out"? Does no one withhold judgment anymore?

I'm annoyed by what the doofus art director said, but I haven't seen any evidence yet that the game's storyline, characters, or dialog have been screwed up. When we have that evidence, I'll turn away, but at this point, I'm still waiting to see how the actual game turns out.

I don't know much about the game except it got the anti-woke crowd riled up as usual. I'll wait to see on the reviews and how much free time I got, but it comes out a month after I have my first baby so if it's really good I'll probably play it two years after.

Yes, I couldn't really care less about drama surrounding a video game of all things, unless it's something overwhelmingly egregious.

No. Because I've only enjoyed FO NV from them and that was an established universe and they were a different team back in 2010. Outer Worlds was painful and I gave up pretty quickly.

It's on gamepass, so I'll probably give it a go, but nothing I've seen of it so far has looked even halfway interesting.

I have Game Pass so I may as well. I'm a guy but I will probably choose her/she. Why not, may as well play along. Would never buy it though.

this...

I was looking forward to be playing it at launch since its reveal. I've been interested. But with the ongoing drama I'll wait.

If Matt Hansen gets fired from Obsidian I'll consider buying. If Obsidian continue to close their eyes on this cunt, I'm not supporting the studio.

I hope his coworkers are doing the necessary to ensure he's the only one getting his ass kicked because that's the kind of problem that could make the sales worse and eventually make the studio close. I can't imagine working with a dumb f*** like this dude.

Nope I made a rule not to contribute in any way to this woke pansy bullshit invading gaming. Each to their own but fuck off with ramming it down our throats. Plenty of games that don't pander to Resetera, they can have my cold hard cash instead.

Wasn't planning on anyway, unless it gets really good reviews. Most 'AAA' games nowadays are just bland by-the-books same-old shit we've done over and over :messenger_tears_of_joy:
So fucking true. Since buying a PC its opened my eyes to so many indie gems I dont even follow AAA releases anymore mostly

It's on Gamepass, so of course I'll play it. I'm also not aware of the drama...is it just pronouns or did something else happen?
