well, if all they're targeting is people on game pass already, then, yeah. but if they want people who don't have game pass to get game pass? then they need to do promotion just like anyone else. i mean, netflix does do promo. how else did I know about squid games?...
 
None. These guys make terrible PC ports

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire still is a complete mess on PC

It has consistent frame-drops throughout the entire game. Basically every couple of seconds there are huge drops, even with idle gameplay. It's unplayable for many people.

Will play it on gamepass so none of those options really. Being 15 hours long for the main story definitely helped get me hyped.
 
Based on colteastwood's unlock of skills in his preview if I recall correctly, someone made a skill calculator. Prone to be changed by release of course as that was from preview over 2 months ago, but should be close.


I'll be tormented on that damn skill choosing game all trees look nice.

Good thing you can respec easy in the game.

At first, I wasn't all that interested. But, as I've seen more, I now have absolutely zero interest.

Not a game for me, but may be a good a game for they/them.

Even if the reports are terrible I'll probably at least check it out and see how it feels thanks to Game Pass.

Squid games is the perfect example of a tv show that had pretty much zero marketing before it released and became a huge hit. The whole idea of Gamepass is that more people are playing the game, which should translate to higher word of mouth

Netflix does do marketing, but it's usually a fraction of the budget that a studio provides to its movies or TV shows

I almost fell asleep playing outer worlds and the game design felt ancient.
And what I've seen so far of avowed looked janky and generic.

The only reason this is even still on my radar is the entertainment potential when the usual suspects get into the woke/not woke discussion again. No intention of ever actually playing this.
 
No giving money to racist devs. Still I hope those interested in the game have fun with it, seems kinda cool.

That's funny... Because I didn't like Outer Worlds either. HOWEVER, I'm excited (cautiously) for Avowed because I don't think it look janky like OW.

Anyway; PC Game Pass, I have nothing to lose.

The only thing I want for this game is to flop. I just want that art director or whatever position he was in to get fired. Just so I can go to his Twitter page and laugh at him.

Other than that, the game is garbage, the art style is garbage. Doesn't look fun to play at all from the videos I have seen. and if it did ever get any decent review, i question the shitty reviewer if he is a flaming queer too or not.

Zero interest, even ignoring all the bad stuff, this still doesn't look that good. The only time I was a bit interested was it's very first teaser since some thought it was going to be the Osidian version of Skyrim or something at that time.

Wondering if I need to cancel my Steam preorder, buy games off my wishlist and wait for the ps5 pro version somewhere down the road?
 
I found Outer Worlds to be utterly boring, couldn't play more than a few hours of that game, I haven't seen anything from Avowed that has me thinking that might be different this time.
Also, this is KCD2 month, any other game coming out this month would most likely be doomed for me unless KCD sucked, which obviously doesn't, so I already have my plate full for a while.

Also, Obsidion has a weird aversion towards romance because who the fuck knows why, meanwhile in KCD I can literally cuck the nobility, isn't the choice obvious??
 
Probably gonna resub to gamepass soon and will give the game a chance on there. Just dont see myself dropping money for an individual copy

As much as I loved the Pillars of Eternity, Obsidian isn't the company they used to be and I have no intention of playing the game. Independent of that, I don't expect it to deliver for genre fans.

From that original comment about this being a 30fps game on console to push mid looking graphics and people on the staff being more concerned about being petty with culture war bs, this game has too many red flags.

FYI, the game's director has confirmed a 60fps mode. The 30 FPS comment was made by someone who also said they aren't the best person to ask about it way back when.

Granted, they should have clarified that sooner.

Nop, Carrie Patel was put onto this game after being a narrative lead on Outer Worlds and it's dlc.

Avowed has had an awful development and this is like its third iteration of the game. It's chewed through directors.
 
I'm still pretty interested. I wouldn't say hyped, but it's on my radar, despite finding Outer Worlds kind of bland. I found the previews encouraging. I'll be waiting on reviews and impressions.

I'm on PS only, so no rush.

Getting mild hype.

I don't get hyped these days. Recently was slightly hyped for these two:

Starfield: dropped after 100 hrs to give them a couple of years to work on gameplay loop.

Alan Wake: Didn't even bought it after hearing it was closer to a walking sim.
 
This gonna flop like Dragon Age Veilguard. But if by some miracle it actually is good, then I'll give it a go on gamepass. Hopefully it was the B team that worked on Outer Worlds.

She was not narrative lead for Outer world, she was for the Peril on Gorgon DLC. Leonard Boyarsky was the lead narrative for the base game.

A team. Did I say that nobody from Outer world is touching this game? Of course the majority of Outer world team is on outer world 2. Avowed is mix, including from her interview saying that its like 1/3 of the workforce that worked on Pillars of Eternity.

Don't care how many directors it got through. Obsidian was in wild times with a buyout and a new scope of games they've never really done before.

Seems she pulled it off. 4 days till review confirm it.

Watch with auto-subtitles.



Don't know how any cRPG fans that played Pillars of Eternity see that video and not be excited. 🤷‍♂️
