Karate Kid: Legends - Official Trailer

No Jaden. No watch.

I wonder if this is a direct continuation of the show or a sort of "alt universe" connection of the KK movies only. No Zabka...WTF?

Should be fun, that Miyagi guy really left a loooooooooong legacy :P

I'm shocked no illegitimate kids have been introduced (or that his kid did survive childbirth and was smuggled away in the WW2 internment camp).

how the hell will the show lead into this? they have to kinda lead into this right? would be super weird for the show to end and this movie just not acknowledging it in any way

Hopefully this has nothing to do with the series and that 2010 abomination with Jaden. I'd watch this, I won't lie.

They've said there are connections with Cobra Kai, it takes place a few years after the end of the show though.

Wouldn't be surprised if Daniel's wife puts the kybosh on having their kids in karate now that children are literally dying on live TV at tournaments, lol. And Johnny will probably want to settle down with a baby coming soon, easy write out there.

Well at least the trailer is pretty solid.
And even though I like Cobra Kai, it's also nice seeing a Karate Kid follow up that doesn't have the production values and cinematography of, like, the highschool parts of Power Rangers.

Is this still in the same universe as the Karate Kid reboot with Will Smith's kid? Cause I think Jackie Chan was in that one too.

This actually looks quite good. Was expecting more teen drama Hollywood lameness but it actually looks much better.

I hope Daniel's karate has gotten better. The stunt double work in Cobra Kai is quite obvious.

Jackie is 70, Maccio isn't far behind him.

Neither of these 2 should be doing much fighting. I'd be happy with a moderately fast chase scene and a hop over a low ledge onto a slowly moving cart of pillows :p

This look pretty great, but if Cobra Kai never lets me see Johnny Lawrence kick LaRusso's ass, I'm really gonna be rooting against LaRusso in this movie.

This looks good. I had to bounce on the Netflix show as it was just too fucking cheesy. Only made it two seasons, but even at that point it seemed it was stretched for content/mythology.

Good trailer.

I'd love there to be some connection / cameo from the series, but I'll be happy if it's actually a good film.

If we don't get Hilary Swank in the last bit of Cobra Kai I'd like to see her in this. She has a great physique and if they are gonna just Capstone Morita's Miyagi then seems like she would have a role to play.

New trailer.

Not bad, though this persistent film idea that training for martial arts tournaments somehow translates into real world street fights is wearing thin.

And the basic plot seems waaaaaay too much like a retread of KK. Probably fine as a soft relaunch to yet another generation but I'm jaded enough with the whole thing to start wanting ninjas, sonic booms, shoryken, just straight up tie it into Street Fighter or some other grander martial art sphere. Alas, there aren't many younger Bruce Lee/Chuck Norris/JCVD/Jeff Speakman/Jet Li types to carry this franchise. Even the Stathams, Michael Jai Whites, and Scott Adkins of the world are aging out.

Idk, looking at some of these new trailers it just looks a but uninspired.
"Been there, done that" vibe.

Cobra Kai repeated the same story beats with Miguel but managed to stand out and feel fresh by focusing the story around Johnny.

Legendary is already making a Street Fighter film, so at least that's coming for a more fantastical martial arts film.

I'll be watching this, choreography looks amazing and the main actor seems to already know kung-fu? Didn't really like the Jaden version of Karate Kid, the antagonist was consistently the superior fighter and he lost because he's the bad kid.
