They are too thin imo. I hope they improve the ergonomics, after getting used to the Deck it's hard coming back to the Switch.

I think the smart thing to do is if the Switch 2 Pro Controller was similar in concept to the Hori Split Pad and split into two pieces you could use for a bulkier but more ergonomic grip.

Is that a lot bigger then Switch 1 or are his hands tiny?
Assuming the stick and buttons are the same distance as in the OG switch, it is at least 1/2 an inch longer so yes it is bigger.

Kinda funny they are revealing this info to show off their 3rd party shit.

This console was probably ready to be revealed 6 or so months ago. Is not normal all these companies have the die lines and specs for accessories, let alone already manufactured! Something happened that delayed the announcement. Wonder what could have been.

I seem to think I am a reasonable person/gamer and I understand these thing are normally scheduled months out with many moving parts but every leak just makes me more annoyed that Nintendo just doesn't accelerate whatever expectations they have in place.

I honestly don't understand why they're being so retarded with this announcement. They have a history, spanning decades, of fucking up the follow-up to every home console succes they've ever had. Decades.

They never learned. This has been their easiest time ever, in terms of future prospects. And they're still fucking it up.
What the fuck. Stretching out the Switch for another holiday season was completely understandable, but the fact that we have these fucking no-name companies showing their console before them is unacceptable.

Just completely retarded behaviour.

I honestly don't understand the lack on a reveal for this thing. Usually brands like to get ahead of these but seems like Nintendo is okay for us to know how the product looks already tbh.

Holy shit if the bezels end up being that big. We're in 2025 for fucks sake.

The switch 2 looks like it was built for a childs hands. No way that an adult with even average hands is going to be comfortable holding that thing for long periods of time. I used my nephews switch and the joycons were wayy too tiny for me to be comfortable using.

just a reminder to bever buy Hori trash controllers... but the option is still there if you're masochistic enough

Going to pull a Sega like with Saturn. "BTW, you can pick up Switch 2 NOW at select retailers. $549."

Nintendo didn't provide this specific solution with the Switch?

What do you all think about the possibility of the Switch 2 launching before April 1st? Would it be possible or nah?

third party Switch 2 Pro controller,
notice how the C button is also present here! so, whatever the C button does is not linked to JoyCon functionality.

and it also means the C button has to have a function that is needed in docked or tabletop mode as well, and isn't tied to handheld mode.

By now I'm 100% sure Nintendo is allowing third parties to show their products for Switch 2. There is no way everyone is doing it with such cynicism.

The interesting part is what made the Switch announcement get delayed, because everyone was ready to show their accessories at CES (and everywhere really).

There must've been some issues at Nintendo that prevented them from announcing it. But was it a game? Production/Demand Projections? Hardware issues? Marketing?

The only issue I think was making sure they made as big a bag as possible over the Christmas of 2024, as well as inching over the Ps2 milestone. That's my perspective, anyway.

Whelp switch power guaranteed to be underwhelming based on the physical size of the unit. No way going pack alot of power in that form factor.

Gonna be honest: an official reveal feels imminent.

Probably not tomorrow, but later this month? I can definitely put stock in that happening. Early February at latest, the rate things are getting leaked & teased.

Knowing Nintendo, historically speaking it's almost 100% because some big 1P launch title just wasn't ready yet. Happened sort of with SNES, happened with N64. Maybe happened with Switch?

If it were hardware issues, 3P peripheral makers wouldn't be showing off products right now. They'd know if a delay were for that reason, Nintendo would've informed them ahead of time, and they would have pulled the peripherals from the show. Any delay has already been accounted for sometime last year, and most likely it was due to some key 1P software not being ready quite yet for a 2024 release.

The only issue I think was making sure they made as big a bag as possible over the Christmas of 2024, as well as inching over the Ps2 milestone. That's my perspective, anyway.

I think this is part of the reason, too. Well, not the "pass-PS2 milestone" thing; I don't think Nintendo really cares about that. But the Switch is still going quite strong, there was some juice to squeeze during the Christmas season, clearly.

Why cut into that with a rushed launch for Switch 2? Better to save it for the following year...like the following fiscal year 😉...

There are dozens of various joycons replacements either ergonomics of your choice. Some are part of a rigid case and there are ones with even dock capabilities integrated.

Joycons are great for traveling though.
