So what's up with the map. Most times when I open it up it's not focused directly on the character and pressing on r3 to center on player takes quite a few presses to get there.

The design, graphics, voice acting and music is perfect. I just need a mod to remove the hunger and sleeping stuff.

They do a good job with flashbacks setting things up.

The only jank I've noticed after five hours was Mutt glitching onto/around my farkle table.

As for saving, I found a field of Belladonna and Nettle not far from the first town. I spent time at the Alchemy table and came away with 60+ Savior Schnapps. If you brew it perfectly, you get 3 potions. And perks quickly open up that can turn that into 6 potions per brew.

Just like the first game.. first thing i will do if possible is to pick flowers for 2 hours.

Btw if someone at WH reads this, i own KCD on PS and will pay 10 bucks for simple 60fps patch, do it!

This is legit one of the funniest games I've ever played, cannot overemphasize just how good the writing/voice acting is, absolutely top tier stuff.

Had a frustrating 30 minutes trying to fucking sleep lol. Henry was exhausted, eyes kept closing, slept in strangers bed and got arrested . Decided to pursue main quest which eventually opens up bed to use, this should be a priority for anyone starting out!

Same! My Henry pulled an all-nighter, passing a few exhausted hours sitting on a bench until morning. Once daylight broke, I looted and traded until I could finally afford a one-night stay at an inn lol

Man, so many cutscenes and long drawn out flashbacks and dialogue scenes. Good god, whats wrong with modern games? Who wants the first two hours of a game to be this boring and lacking gameplay? How did we get from god of war 2 which had an amazing first 2 hours to this?

the game also bugged out when it asked me to crush the sage bush during a 15 minute potion brewing session because well, this is an immersive sim and we have to spend 15 minutes boiling wine and mixing things one by one. I will always laugh at gamers getting upset at walking segments in playstation's cinematic games, but ok with tedious crap like this. They both make me want to slit my wrists.

Graphics are nice. I will give them that.

I was tempted to pick this game up but this post is saving my money.

I'll wait for avowed on gamepass for my fill of a first person rpg. At least there I may only waste a few bucks for gamepass versus $70 for a game I never play after doing chores.

I played KC 1...and this new game seems to improve a lot of stuff. Combat still is hard to get used to but I get what the developer wants to make us feel with its combat mechanics.

KD 2. Is what Assassin's Creed should be today, AC used to have that realistic approach of weapons, cltohes, environent, etc. Just imagine AC shadows where transformed to KC2 , would be a blast.

Dont think is a game IP right now that its similar to KC, so it cant be compared to Witcher, Elder Scrolls, or.any other open world RPG. Its an unique game, hope other studios take note and copy the good stuff like the voice actors, narrative, dialogs, side quests, enviroment.

Yup, just as I feared...I'm just not feeling it at the moment. It's beautiful, the music is outstanding, the writing is well done, but it really, really is just more KCD (which is fine) and Im just not in the mode for a mega deep knight sim with all of the responsibility and mechanics. Hopefully Ill come back to it in the future after it's been ironed out some more. And I dont regret one bit giving WH my cash!

The game is incredible so far but I forgot how annoyingly "simulation" this franchise is. Went to talk to NPCs having an argument, my clothes were dirty so I couldn't pass skill checks even though my character is invested into speech and they all jumped me and stole all my money and clothes.

This was early in the game where money is precious, so I had to reload only to find out it hadn't auto saved in two hours. Now I have to painfully redo most of the first village story again. Ugh.

-picking plants and making potions to sell is way to easy and i can see ruining the economy of the game, i'm just at the start and i could make infinite money by brewing potions with the plants around the first village, what do you think?
I guess the counterpoint is that making potions is time consuming but not more time consuming than walking stealth at night and trying to steal things from people's homes or wandering around the map picking fights to get loot to sell.

-are future enemies gonna punish me for just staying on the defensive, parrying and reposting all day long? because for now i'm kinda untouchable except when i fuck up because i'm still not used with the combat, just wait the green shield icon, block, wait for the blue icon and attack in the opposite direction and it work 70% of times and enemy can't touch me because i never swing first so i'm never open to counters, and enemy in groups attack once at the time, at least for now.
And it doesn't even require much precise timing at all to use this tecnique, even with a controller.

But none of those are an issue for me. Just curious about Morrowind comparison.

Where that show is mostly in the way that you can use all game mechanics to solve quests rather than being forced in solving them a certain way. Also not all quest markers show you exactly where to go, you need to listen to what people actually say and follow their instructions - "It's in this general area under a twisted tree" and so on.

I really wish this game had good combat. It would make it a much more well rounded game. Everything else is pretty top notch. Besides some janky AI and single NPC's having multiple voice actors.

What I've heard money is abundant in this one as well, it's hard to balance like you say when enemies drop so expensive gear. In KCD1 if you had the From the Ashes DLC you could earn like 100k per ingame week.

It was already the case for these two points in the original game and were both hugely improved in the hardcore mode (notably regarding the first point, the economy was nerfed hard, and you ended up being poor for much more of the game)

Battle system is way more engaging, I'd say every system is. Variety of equipment and other things are just insane compared to the first one. I'd say the quests also are better so far (about 16 hours in).

It's an incredibly well polished and more vibrant open world than the first game. But I understand your concern. I personally kind of regret playing KCD1 last month because the gameplay loop is near identical. I'm still having a great time, though. The biggest difference is the small details that make the world way more immersive this time around. Up there with RDR2 in that respect

I'd just want to say that Combat Training 1 and 2 with Tomcat is essential if you want to take advantage of all what the new battle system have to offer - also helps immensely when you start getting into fights with better opponents. Everyone should do them as soon as they can.

I went into his store and stole as much as I could. I took it a step further and manage to dump the rest of his store in a pound. I then left the town and returned a day or two later wearing some of the clothes I stole.

I went to sell some of the items back to him but because he had nothing to sell he was broke .

The combat is what turned me off of the original and why I'm hesitant to dive into the sequel.

It's a bit better but if the "trick" i discovered is gonna be valid for the rest of the game i can see becoming super easy very fast, so if it was a matter of difficulty, this one seems way easier (i didn't played much of the first).

The feeling and visuals still resemble 2 guys taking turn trying to reacreate an hama duel in a theatre, not a real, gritty, dynamic, punchy, gorey fight like other games with melee first person combat (chivarly 2, mordhau, half sword etc. etc.)

At the very least is less annoying to deal with than the first game right from the beginning because henry is not completely hopeless.

It's not really about gaming the system, it's literally the 4-5 thing they teach you in the tutorial, but it just work...too well.

Guys, for those of you that are on pc I have found something very interesting

If you use DLSS4 with the nvidia app, reduce the Sharpness in the settings menu from the game otherwise you'll get artefacts and aliasing.

I just did the test and it's 100% reproducible so if you want to avoid it, remember this tip

They were smart to make the save and exit directly to desktop so it's too annoying and you end up never using it
