For what it's worth, Dark Souls 2 was the last FromSoft game that had good multiplayer, if you like invading. Arguably it's actually even the best, in that regard, since the invadee doesn't even have to be in human form.

Starting with Bloodborne you could only/mostly invade people who already had summons present, like exclusively, which just sucks ass. I don't have any issue with having to 1v2 or 1v3 OCCASIONALLY, but there's really no joy in it if literally EVERY. SINGLE. INVASION. puts you up against 3 people.

And no, I won't git gud. I want to use my Shotel+15 to cheese through inexperienced noobs who hide behind their shields. Never forget what they took from you ):

True except the pain in the ass soul memory summon range mechanic. My main is level 260-something which means it's impossible to connect. So I've made a brand new character for this event and just got the small soapstone. Let's go!
 
btw, nobody on Reddit believes me but I have a shitton of gear that isn't in the game and 100% safe to play online with on Playstation, well tested. Apparently most come from beta playtest content drops and from an early version of the game where it was possible to infuse boss weapons. No hacking involved so they aren't flagged as "illegal" by the server. Happy to drop some if you ask nicely, I'd love to mule those to my new char but due to how matchmaking works that doesn't seem possible.

Very cool. Drakeblood Set for life though. Probably the nicest looking armour in the entire series (great stats too).

Love DS2 and would love to dip in but played it so much last year with the Seeker of Fire mod so kinda burnt out on it. Maybe next year. It's a fun event.
 
Is this valid for PSN or just PC master race? Recently, I´ve created a mage (never played as a magic caracther) and this would be great; besides Bloodborne, DS2 is my favorite soulsborne. Thanks for the heads-up, OP!

Soul memory, shitty gank squads everywhere, terrible level design, crap weapon durability, small soapstones, despawning enemies and many other things make it a massive NO for me.
 
DS2 isn't the best but I absolutely loved it. It had the best PvP and co-op by far. Kind of lacks focus, but doesn't fall off as hard as Crystal Cave of Lost Izalith in DS1. Its also the DS game where a bow build is absolutely killer.

Sure. And no I haven't found anything about this stuff online, those aren't like cut weapons you can find data mining but cool reskins and such. I have it on a character over 30 milion soul memory, so you need to be something like half of that?

DS2 really did have great PvP. I remember chilling on that one bridge that was the fight club zone and smacking people off the bridge with the Zweihander. What a time to be alive.
 
Man.... maybe I'll jump in again. Balls deep on yet another elden ring playthrough currently though. Would be nice to visit Majula again
 
The only souls I was any good at, still love it.
I fought Sir Alonne over and over again to make him commit seppuku as fast as possible. It was an obsession.
And don't make me feel nostalgic about Majula :messenger_smiling:


 
Anyone else prefer the regular Dark Souls 2 over SotFS? The enemy layout and variety felt jank as fuck in the latter, like they rearranged the enemies without any thought of if it would make sense for them to be there as long as it made a section more difficult.

No. Both consoles & PC. The community has a yearly event called "Return to x" for each soulsborne game.

But no thanks. Means I'd have to do the Ivory King DLC and that snowstorm with the reindeers just to fight the dual cats. I hate the dual cats.
