You're not alone in wanting to alter his personal appearance. That constant banging and knocking would definitely give me anxiety and conjure up some bad intentions.

But now he deliberately stomps in the middle of the night and as soon as he wakes up. Every morning, he hits something metal against the heating pipes or whatever. I can share audio if someone is interested.

It's 100% intentional. The pattern makes it clear he plans this. He also yells things, but I can never make out what he's saying. These sounds aren't normal "living" sounds.

I'm as quiet as a mouse. I don't want to escalate things but I'm almost at my limit. I'm a big tall guy. Bigger than most and certainly bigger than him but I want nothing to do with physical aggression. This guy is clearly trying to intimidate me and escalate things and he is almost getting his way

Filed another complaint, they talked to him but he just keeps going

This is the short version.

The guy is a fucking ugly cunt. And he is dumb as fuck, who keeps going like this when everything can be recorded nowadays?

You could say the guy is incredibly aggressive, and I want no part in any physical confrontation. I know I shouldn't be scared, but honestly, I am.

It's good you've got recordings and it is predictable. Keep reporting it. Go to the police if you have to.

A few years ago I had a neighbour constantly partying from like 6pm to 9am. I don't mind people enjoying themselves but this was constant and loud. Went to their door many times.

Here I think the next step would've been contacting the anti social department of my local council and they'd come out and do a noise reading. Obviously your situation is different but just keep reporting it and saying he's being aggressive. Go back to your rental place, go to police, etc.
 
That is kind of the problem when a neighbor is being intentionally obnoxious. He knows just how far he can push it.

I had an uncle that lost it and beat up a neighbor.

I used to have an upstairs white trash couple who were fighting and fucking at all hours.
It got to a point where I developed nervous face twitches whenever I heard the banging sound of thrown furniture and yelling.

I called the cops maybe 3 times but really it had zero impact.

I finally moved out to get closer to my work.
The night before I left I remember waking up at 3 AM to the sound of a shattered window upstairs.

Fucking animals.

You have my love and sympathy.
Get your neighbours and confront that asshole or move out.

I was in a very similar position with two back to back upstair neighbours.

I can't describe the process and inadequacy from the place that runs my complex.

Gather evidence, timestamps etc etc to build a file and most likely nothing will happen. Best case scenario is showing up with multiple neighbors experiencing the same and even then.

I've had PTSS for a long while (it has been quite mostly for about 2'ish years now) that when I heard music or her coming home I'd immediately got stressed and tensed up. Powerless, left at the mercy off.

She's lucky it was a her.

Called the cops multiple times about the neighbor before her.

Didn't do nothing.

Thank you my man. I can definitely relate to that constant flinch whenever there's a loud sound, even when it's not coming from my neighbor

I'm sure many of you can also relate to what I'm going through. It's definitely not helping with stress, and I hate to sound dramatic, but it's really starting to wear on me. It's gotten to the point where I carefully check the shared entrance before stepping outside, just to make sure I don't run into him.

Living in the Netherlands, I know renters can get away with a lot. There are legal ways to force him to quiet down or even get him evicted. One option would be withholding rent, but that would only create new problems. The idea is to highlight the constant disruptions to my living conditions and push the rental company to take action. In an ideal world, they would step in and restore things to how they should be

I know he was fined by the rental company a week ago. I informed them that he's still at it, and I've sent them new evidence. As a result, he got fined a second time. They came by yesterday, but unfortunately, he wasn't at home

Moving out is a big goal of mine, but realistically, I won't be able to afford it in the next few months. I'm losing my job (not in a dramatic way, just being phased out by actual AI after six years). While I'm receiving a lot of benefits, I need more certainty, like a new job, before I can fully commit to moving

But you can bet your ass I'm raising absolute hell on earth when I finally move. When that time comes, he won't be getting a good night's sleep for a couple of days

I'm using headphones. Using that tactic ie fire with fire could. No will escalate the situation whilst simultaneously really bother innocent nneighbours.

I'd be thinking about stabbing the guy 40 times all over but I ain't sleeping in no prison over that.

Im thankful I dont have to endure that shit. Confronted my upstairs neighbor one time and he's been quiet ever since.

Yeah, I've been really caught up in those thoughts too. I even dream about it sometimes

But I've seen firsthand what even a little violence can do. I guess I was cured of it at a young age. Luckily, I'm not a violent person, and honestly, I'm way too much of a scaredy cat. I've been rocking headphones long before the guy above me even moved in. I absolutely hate the thought that people might be bothered by me. I've always been REAL quiet

HRK it honestly sounds a bit like an unwinnable situation. Shit neighbors in a shared facility often can't really be dealt with.

I'd recommend just being petty and scraping back small amounts of your sanity with mini retaliations. Like, wipe maple syrup under his doorknob. Or spray fart spray into his car.

I'm also terribly immature so maybe don't take my advice. 😂

Same same. My is from '64..I'm very considering and quite as well and use headphones for gaming and music. Otherwise I would be an asshole. Low frequenties IE bass goes through concrete as a MF. You know immediately what IQ person you're dealing with. I'm not a violent person as well. But over time you disconnect and only tie the sound with an external something; that's when those thought come. Again she was was lucky she's a she because at a certain point I didn't care. Je wilt niet weten wat er in mijn hoofd speelde. Verminking etc.

Overdrijf niet.

I actually had a great conversation with her while they were moving his stuff. Since I was heading upstairs anyway, I even helped carry a few things

But nah. I'm good brother, I'm not THAT petty 🤡
