Well, that was somewhat short-lived. After briefly witnessing a new Nintendo release on the podium, the Big N's latest has seen quite the fall in its second week.

Yes, last week's silver medal wasn't enough to keep Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition in the race this time, with the latest RPG dropping all the way down to 13th. Assassin's Creed Shadows continues to kill off the rest of the competition from the top spot, and Fireshine's British apocalyptic survivor, Atomfall, debuts at number two.

This leaves Nintendo's old faithful to pick up the slack, once again. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Minecraft keep chugging along in seventh and eighth, while Hello Kitty Island Adventure starts strong on Switch and debuts in 10th.

But that's quite enough chit-chat. Here's a look at the full top 40 for this week, with platform breakdowns for all of the titles available on other consoles as well as the Switch

Astrobot's legs are fantastic.
That list really puts into perspective just how badly both Indiana Jones and Avowed flopped. Meanwhile, Astro Bot, the game green rats were claiming flopped because it *only* sold 1.5 million in its first month, continues to have terrific legs.

Take nothing away from AstroBot (fantastic game, deserves all its flowers) but…

What a disingenuous comparison lol.

This is a guy whose whole channel is about Japanese history and it is a very reliable source

Listen from 33:00 forward and tell me how is this a disingenuous comparison

The whole debate with Yasuke is because Ubisoft was behind it, period and of course, racists will use it to join the hate. Most japanese companies have been using Yasuke in their media without any issues.

The hate is because it's a decision made by Ubisoft, and people hate Ubisoft. That's the reality

Keep reading this wrong, it's fine. We will find out the truth. ACShadows had to carry a company as the flagship game.

It's kinda like Snow White. It won the box office the first weekend it was out. Yall probably cheered, but reality was that it still did terribly despite winning opening weekend.

It's about indexing things against other things. Each product needs a certain level of revenue to meet sales expectations. Comparing products that came out around the same time is rather arbitrary when you aren't considering their budget.

We will find out the true state of AC Shadows vs expectations when the financial reports come in.

Even your response is disingenuous since you obviously know why that meme is wrong so you try to move the goal post and make a poor maligned Ubisoft argument and not the race baiting bullshit it was.

Astrobot is like a punch in the face of all soyboys inside Playstation HQ.

What a fucking strong legs.
Thats coz quality game defends itself perfectly fine, no need to make sponsored vids/articles about it or hire some internet "fans" to pretend game is solid and liked- in Astro's case its natural movement from the ground up, strong word of mouth and genuine love for the game, quite different from marketing and artifical hype that dies down imediatelly :)

Nintendo slowly becoming a relevant force for third party games is great to see.
The OP should specify that this is data from games in physical boxes (and console bundles) but.....🤷.

That changes the circumstances a lot. In Nintendo's case, it's because its digital percentage is much lower than the rest of the platforms. So, we'd need to know the digital data before concluding whether that statement is true.

PS. With Switch 2, I do think it will be easier for this to happen because it seems the hardware will help third-party game ports reach a greater number.

Seems like Nintendo is pushing more towards digital too this gen though.

I'd imagine cartridge limitations will be severe for the PS4-level games that are promised to come.

My friend dont try to twist the narrative. I can see that you are an excellent manipulator

You have shown your cards in the first comment saying that the comparison is disingenuous. Williams was an historical figure and its documented but so it was Yasuke but you are saying that the comparison is made with bad faith

Explain to me how that is not a racist statement. On top of that you have insulted me calling me pathetic and a loser, which doesn't make you look good when it comes to holding an argument

I am waiting and I want to hear the mental gymnastics that you will try to do to convince us all here you genius

Oh and btw. If someone here ban me for saying what I think, then good, I dont want to be in a place where I cannot be myself, specially when its fucking clear as day that you are a racist
You've been feasting for a win for months/years haven't you.

No one cares about your moral busybodying. This isn't 2016 anymore no one cares about being called a racist.

Surely, and that will also help increase third-party support (at least for as long as the hardware remains competent)

I think Nintendo's biggest issue is how big the existing Switch audience and the library already is.. Won't be easy transferring these guys to Switch 2.

This is the same issue that faced Microsoft and Sony this gen too.

I think there are several reasons the comparison doesn't necessarily work, but let's start with: do you think this big controversy/backlash would have happened with Nioh if Nioh had used Yasuke/black guy as the protagonist? Because I don't.
