Wuthering Waves |OT| - Devil May Impact

Genshin has released probably one of the worst updates yet, and it's saying something since Natlan overall for me was a massive disappointment (story, characters, designs, literally everything), and yet it's still number 1, depressing. ☠️

I still like it and play it everyday, but damn is most of the magic just gone for me, it's been going downhill for a while now. Hopefully Nod-Krai is gonna reinvigorate it a bit.

Very very casually. Had it installed since launch, but I stopped reading the story at chapter 3 (wasn't for me). My favorite part are the event boss battles. It's such a shame that they're limited time, they're by far the best content in the game.

Oh, I see. I'm trying to get into PGR since the combat looks fun and some of the units are really cool, but it's a bit hard since the PC version is too mobile-y for my taste.

The game is on a hyper catch-up phase right now to catch up to CN because there's a Devil May Cry collab coming up that they want to sync servers for. Most new S rank characters are just cutscene generators and the gameplay has been mostly removed in favor of rotations and gacha powercreep. WuWa is the much better combat game now, better story/presentation too. They made PGR to rival Honkai Impact 3, it's not really worth getting into at this point IMO. The character designs are great, and I have suspicions that the world and WuWa's world are connected, but I dunno if it's worth playing even still. The one grace it has is that it's pretty F2P. Since they (normally) release characters so slowly, you should always be able to guarantee every character for free. That got kinda busted up with them doing 2-3 characters per patch in the catch up phase, despite the additional income.

This one surprised me (as in, that they went for this prank specifically) because not every country celebrates April's Fools, so they're catching many people off guard. I was telling my friends yesterday to remember that today is April's Fools because here in Spain (and in many other countries), we actually celebrate it on December 28.

Man I saw some charts that showed Brant's banner being the lowest selling in the game after the free dude they gave away, so either he was an extremely late bloomer, the data was just wrong, or Cantarella was a WuWillion dollar banner.

Looks like that chart I saw was plain wrong if the above post is accurate. Looks like the game made it to "2rd" on PSN, lol.

Maybe that one was for CN? This dude Ofa, who's doing this revenue chart, is mostly focusing on iOS JP (not sure where he gets that daily JPY breakdown). And yeah, I noticed that "2rd" typo as well, lmao.

In all honestly I didn't expect Brant to top Changli in terms of pulls. But then again that's more IOS focused data, maybe with all things packed together that doesn't happen.

Probably Jinhsi / Chiangli / Carlotta, no?

I actually would lean more towards Carlotta because the game had way better traction when Raguna drop compared to when they dropped Jihnsi or Changli.

So this dude's data for iOS JP goes as far back as February, but it's pretty safe to say that the 1.0 and 1.1 banners (Yinlin, Jyan, Changli and Jinhsi) were the best selling banners. And IIRC Carlotta did very good too, but I don't think it did as much as those 4.

Oh really? I didn't thought it would be the OG banners, because the game back there was in it's hit and miss phase, full of bugs and performance issues.

Gacha launches are almost always one of the biggest revenue times for them. Lots of first purchase bonuses, hype, etc. WuWa had problems at its launch, but it was still very successful.

Keep in mind that people can overlook bugs and technical shortcomings if the game is fun, and Kuro put out a lot of marketing for the game's launch (1.0 banners) and then also for 1.1 banners (saw a bunch of Changli marketing and I wasn't even playing the game at the time).

Yeah, like I said, Jiyan and Yinlin did really well, lol. There was a lot of hype for both of them.

Btw, you can somewhat correlate these estimates with the amount of engagement (views, likes, reshares) each video and post received on YT, TW, etc.

For YouTube though, some of these videos were also used as ads, so a better metric there is the number of likes instead of the number of views.

In any case, the game is on a good trajectory right now and the 1st anniversary is just around the corner, so expect the $$$ to keep coming in.

There is nothing particularly surprising here, they promoted her very strongly, plus she is now objectively one of the strongest characters in the game, even despite the fact that 50% of the character does not work and she actually does not have a group now, only a temporary crutch through Rover. And if God forbid Zani is also broken at the same level, I think we will see a drop of all old DPS in the table. That's why the demand for her was very high.

I sincerely hope they don't side line Zani to a mere sub-dps, and make her main existing reason be to buff Phoebe.

I'm quite honestly surprised on how popular Phoebe became. She is insanely boring in my eyes.

But I'm in the minority here, I know, the numbers prove me wrong :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I would also like to see Zani as a main DPS, but in reality it won't matter very much there, since I understand their idea is that you actively switch between them + you need to use the second support stance. Regardless of which of them is in what position, on paper it will be a very active group with a constant change of characters. Plus, Probe's damage is just disgusting (she currently has the highest parser in the game on a standing target, even at S0, almost 600,000 damage), so damage problems definitely don't apply to this group.

Kinda hate myself a little for skipping her, lol. I like her kit (she was slaying in some of the past events where she was a trial resonator) and also enjoyed her role in the fishing story from the last patch, as well as in the ragunna holiday side quest.

Anyway, I'll try to grab her once her banner is rerun if I have enough astrites saved up.

I almost skip her, there were about 5-6 days left until the end of the banner, and I just thought that if Zani really needs her, I will never forgive myself for skipping her, since who knows when her rerun will happen now (Of course they can do her rerun at the same time as Zani baner, but then it will be one of the most brutal banners in the history of the game :messenger_tears_of_joy:). Plus, even if Zani doesn't need her, in any case you get a very strong character on your account, in the end it was a win-win lottery and I decided to get her in the end.

That was worth waiting for. What a finely crafted story. Some sad parts, some bittersweet, etc. Again the cinematography was fantastic, the dialogue was great. The Fisalia's were pretty fucked up, to be honest.

I really wanted to take a picture of the giant Jellyfish but the game considers you in a domain for that part so you can't use the camera or even enter the options menu to disable the UI for a clean screen cap. That was jaw dropping. This game doesn't get enough credit for its visuals, there are some really incredible areas.

I've been slowly building my Cantarella over the past few days, still trying to get her weapon. I find her a bit more easy to understandher and use her in battle now, but boy have I been spoiled by having Shorekeeper in my party previously. She does so much healing that you can be very sloppy in harder fights and not even think about it. With Cantarella in her place, you still get some healing, but you need to play well for it to be sufficient. To be fair, it probably gets better as you build her. I noticed a significantly easier time with the trial Cantarella. She really takes Havoc Rover to a new level with her damage buffs and coordinated attacks though. I didn't realize this before rolling her, but she also has a very high speed swim that also charges her Forte while you're in the water. My only complaint with her is that she's melee range. I wish she either had faster attack animations or was a ranged character. It's kinda awkward to play her in boss battles, especially ones that are really mobile/warp around like Lorelei. Her personal damage is nothing to scoff at, either.

Yeah, you need to manually sign in every day via their Discord bot (it doesn't take more than a couple of seconds, especially if you keep your discord client idle on PC and/or mobile like me). I'm currently at the day 2 rewards.
