Yeah, this is an easy skip for me. I mostly play Nintendo games and some 2D-HD RPGs on the system. And kids also do the above give or take a few games.

$500 with MK and $80-90 physical games aren't my cup of tea.
 
Wonder if the price is actually going to be a bit of a deterrent for normies...

Thats one expensive Nintendo system for reals.

It will make little difference. I constantly get surprised at people shelling out ffor a new i pad year after year.... but here we are. Plus do we know the exact regional pricing as yet?.... pretty sure this was not announced at the Switch 2 direct, Or even a pre order date as yet. I think we are putting the jart before the horse a little here.

Atleast it is for the Dutch version (euro), and 510 with Mario Kart World.

That's a pretty penny, but this will be great to compare to Steam Deck.

Wow, they really added no food for one day 20 Euro tax for us Europeans.

90 Euro games, I'm dead. They really think they are some industry trend setters.

I would rather buy games on Steam. Steam Deck 2 is needed asap.

Sign in with your Nintendo Account and register your interest in purchasing a Nintendo Switch™ 2 system and select accessories from the official My Nintendo Store. We'll be in touch with an invitation email once it's your turn to shop.

Open to Nintendo Account holders in the U.S. and Canada, who are at least 18 years old. If you are eligible, an invitation email will be sent to the email address associated with your Nintendo Account when it is your time to purchase. The invitation will be valid for 72 hours. Invitation emails will be prioritized on a first-come, first-served basis to registrants who have purchased a Nintendo Switch Online membership with a minimum of 12 months of paid membership and a minimum of 50 total gameplay hours, as of April 2, 2025. Once invitation emails have been sent to all registrants meeting the priority criteria, invitations will be sent to remaining eligible registrants on a first-come, first-served basis.

While it's weird seeing this the same price as the vastly superior ps5 I'm actually surprised Nintendo didn't have the balls to charge more. Scalpers are rejoicing right now.
 
DAY ONE!!! the fact that I have zero interest in PS5 or XBOX and I skipped Wii U/OG Switch generations
makes this a no brainer for me

Yeah, I think it was to be expected ever since PS5 Pro was €799, but to see it happening is still something. Lol

I think it might be quite a tough sell for Nintendo this time round.

This ~450 USD PORTABLE device will produce better graphics and performance than Iphone pro max for ~1200USD.
Docked mode is optional and not the default for this device. This is not comparable to PS5.

Pro in US 700$/800 Euro, here we have 450$/470 Euro. Sony is ripping off Europeans.
 
No way I'm gonna buy this right now - it's an obvious rip-off.

There were essentially no new games aside from Metroid Prime 4, and it looked mediocre.

The NSO2-versions of the Zelda-games were optically not differentiable from the NSO-versions.

I'll have to wait and see what the price will be here in Sweden. It might turn out to be even more expensive than I could have imagined.. Hmm. No way I'm buying that Mario Kart bundle, I need the physical version.

What's surprising me is how high the suggest price of the retail games are.
 
It's going to be 600 in Canada and add tax and your around 700 plus the cost of the games and there's no way I'm paying that just to play Metroid. I'm definitely out.

Edit: But I own the Steam Deck OLED, and it's great.

Only 50K yen in Japan ($334), there will be raffles to have the "privilege" to buy that thing. Best of luck to Sony trying to sell that 120K yen PS5 pro when Switch 2 arrives.
