Xbox Portable May Have Leaked in Video from a Today's interview

The video featured a tour of the laboratory where the next-generation Xbox is being prepared. Only part of the device is revealed, showing part of the screen, the right analog stick, the familiar "A, B, X and Y" buttons and 2 mysterious buttons:

Deja Vu of "But what is the C button and what does it do?", but this time it's Jez Corden writing a 500 word essay about it.

Can anyone else confirm if this resembles their handheld PC?

If not, the timing and framing of this shot is very deliberate, and very likely is the portable xbox.

Probably not coming out until next year the earliest though.

Crazy to say this, but nintendo has upped the bar with a 1080p 120hz HDR and VRR screen, and a system capable of DLSS and Ray tracing. All for $449. Likely just as powerful as the XSS if not more when considering the ray tracing features.

MS at the minimum needs X1X levels of power (6 tflops) and come in around $600. The screen needs to have all those features. The handheld must be built on RDNA4 to ensure proper ray tracing and FSR4 upscaling support.

No point trying to match Nintendo on price. Just target decent specs and make sure you dont skimp out on the screen.

If its able to be at XSS level thats good enough for me. It won't be subsidized like Switch so thats strong enough really.

Being portable, I hope they do a port of Street Fighter 6 Switch 2 edition.

Series S version of SF6 is no good compared to the mighty Switch 2.

Draugoth Draugoth come on man, did you just copy/paste the thread from gamingleaksandrumors subreddit without even verifying? Lmao.

Apparently this is an Asus handheld that was teased recently by Microsoft and Asus, with possibly Xbox branding (handheld OS, like Steam OS).

I dunno the aesthetics don't exactly scream Official Xbox Handheld to me. Even the buttons look like they don't have any color? Though that's maybe what an early prototype would look like? 🤷‍♂️

That handheld already exists, it's called ROG Ally X. Lenovo will release the Go S with SteamOS for $499 next month, that has a 1080p 120Hz screen. We will see how the SteamOS performs on that one (since by definition Windows 11 is a performance drain), however it is still unlikely to match the Ally X (then again that console is 899€ in Europe). Chances are it will have a similar performance to Switch 2 so the difference will be Nintendo Exclusives vs. PC ecosystem + more robust game settings.

to answer the question, no he has not a good cpu comparable to the x86, but i think he will receive more third party support than switch 1 of course

The xbox hardware brand is all but dead, I don't know why they are bothering. MS should put all its eggs in the Switch 2 exclusivity basket. There's easily another 100m plus market out there to sell to and its always nice to see that other lot being denied access to games.

Dunno why they continue with hardware at this point- atleast in the traditional sense.
Just the best way to play Xbox games according to them - when everyone else got em too i guess.

I would only be interested if this aligned more as a Steamdeck competitor/portable pc.

Nah this isnt the ASUS/Xbox handheld or the Microsoft handheld, as far as I know they dont have removeable joycon style controls and that piece of shit in the picture looks to have that style. You will know when the real Xbox handhelds are showen as you will be mind blowen, barely able to string any words together on here, the power is going to be to much 🟢💪.

Analog sticks look too small like the Switch. Other than that, nothing to see here other than it exists, which we already knew.
