The level of rejection this film is having is incredible and highlights a significant shift in audience preferences. Unlike Joker 2, where a substantial portion of its audience is the toxic incel manosphere the media so much enjoys to hide behind to explain failures, this is a family oriented film, a remake of one of the most popular films of all time and it's being rejected by audiences everywhere.

As much as Rachel Z clearly shows signs of immaturity, believe it or not some of the dumb shit she says might just come from her theatre roots (over emphasizing and over exaggerating what she's says sound like a dumbass). She purposely does it sometimes but other times it still comes out even if she doesn't mean it.
She might just have a bad way of getting her sense of humour across to the masses since she uses her theatre way of talking to smugly whip out one liners people cringe at.
Brie Larson is another one. You never know. Maybe she's a cool chick at parties or at a pub. But the way she interacts with the media and people (even her Nissan tv ads) she has a robotic smug way of talking like she's a big shot.
Even if they have to express their opinions on stuff, just be chill to the public.

I agree that films are on a creative slump. The 80s and 90s were the decades of creativity. So many franchises were born from this era.
Nowadays studios are set on nostalgia and constantly recycle the same tired old IPs from decades ago.

You can watch the start of the movie and tell there is nothing to what they are holding. No acting going on.
Gems are fancy rocks, and rocks weigh a lot if you get a pile of them.
Also the fact that a kingdom was all sharing a ton of gems and everyone was rich and healthy and then some ruler overnight says, all the gems are mine now.....and they don't revolt, that is not believable either. All those soldiers that were once wealthy and had farms and gems would revolt and say "we need no ruler" use their weapons and take the gems for themselves.
Well, you've convinced me, I'll skip this film based on the unfavorable economic representation of agrarian and gem based society
