UK PSN account permanently suspended? Help?

Forth Forth do you have another account you use to buy games cheaper on the USA store or something like that?

My biggest issue with these bans especially for long standing accounts is they don't give you a derailed reason why.

I don't use photo mode, I don't stream content, I have a zero friends list, I only owned one PS5 console and I never shared any account and the credit card linked to my account is my persons which I still use.
The only thing I ever bought was vouchers from CDKeys due to the savings that can be made.
It baffles me why this happened.

My point is that companies can't just pull any garbage out of thin air and slap it in their damn T&Cs. Flat out denying someone what they've rightfully paid for should be absolutely illegal.

Like I said, licenses.

Licenses have existed since forever, but they have become more prominent nowadays with the advent of closed-end digital services in which you don't need to call the boys in blue to take an item back off someone.

No other accounts, just my singular UK account that I've had since my launch PS3 through PS4 and new PS5.

Did you already check your credit card's recent movements to see if there's something out of place?

Good luck, customer service is hell these days. I remember calling Microsoft 2 decades ago, got a person to talk to and help me through my problem. How times have changed.
It's still still possible with Microsoft. Playstation customer service just sucks.

Thank you, I've just filled the request in and I see an email to that address last week.
Not one reply.
After filing in the web form, it says I need to verify my email with a link sent to the email but nothing arrives. I've checked my junk folder too.
Does your mail account still work in general? I once had the problem where my mail provider stopped supporting certain domains or something like that - I don't know exactly how it works. Basically, two of my email accounts ending in blablabla@insertmaildomainhere.com just stopped working. I could still log in, but I wasn't receiving anything anymore. I had to contact the provider, and now I've got some cryptic messed up address tied to that same old account. I also had to reach out to Steam to manually change my account info. It was a pain, but in the end, it worked.

I'm beginning to think that this whole anti-consumer thing is rigged for their benefit.
Spoiler - it is

That'll be sure to get him unbanned.

Did I say it would?

It's the most effective step he could take in pursuing further action and is going to give him more information on the suspension. From there he can at least screen some legal options, better than spamming chats with support who don't care.

Hello I've had my UK PSN account since PS3 with same PSN ID and email. I had my account permanently suspended in August and have constantly reached out with emails but had not one single reply. They didn't even send me an email to state what the fraud claim was. I've always used my personal credit card and have over 600 digital games on my library that I've been locked out of. I'm hoping that there is someone on this forum that could help. Thank you for any advice and support
Go to likes of Eurogamer (contact them via x, email etc.), post it on Reddit etc.

Also use this free service https://www.resolver.co.uk/ (I have used it couple of times and always getting responses from companies).

It doesn't excuse the misleading use of "buy." If it's a license, they should clearly state "purchase license" and "game license," not just "buy game."

This isn't right, Ubisoft are now taking away peoples games as well, some could of paid a load of money over time for nothing, i won't buy a game on Steam that has a PSN account mandatory requirement now, this has put me off, we have to stand up to this as gamers, these companies have received a bucket load of money from us to just steal our products back and not refund us.

This is commonplace throughout the industry. E.g for Microsoft 365, the website uses "buy now", not "buy license"

In most modern consoles with internet enabled, you will get a T and C page when you first boot up the console. That exists primarily for the reason of "btw we can brick your console and you can't sue us" and has other stuff fired in to make it look as boring as possible. Console makers want you skip it.

Even steam will just block you from online interactivity, this is just too much
Steam permanent bans are very rare. Even if you buy a stolen key from grey market they usually just revoke your license to that game.

OP, are you sure you bought your vouchers from cdkeys and not some random clone? People talk how cdkeys is safe from this shit, but I'm a bit sceptical. Maybe they got a stolen batch of codes by a mistake.

Do you talk to people on PSN in discord chats or PSN party chats? Do you let anyone ever login to your account?
No, I'm not on any discord and I have voice and messages blocked on my PSN account.
The only online game I played was destiny 2 but I don't use a headset so voice was blocked.

Yes, my Mail account still works, I even changed the PSN email yesterday to see if that was the problem but I'm still permanently suspended.

Yes, there's nothing wrong. The last purchase was one that I'd made.

You probably did it already, but just for the sake of completeness, you might want to also check movements of the last few weeks. It can take a while for fraudolent/suspect transactions to be flagged as such, and it might get lost between your legit ones.

If this happened to me and I had spent significant money on my account, I would talk to a lawyer at this point.

Of course, this is all predicated on the premise that you didn't do anything at all.

The worst part about all of this is getting your account suspended because of Concord (potentially)

I hope you get your account back OP.

While the site itself is reliable (along with their customer support), a word of caution when using CDKeys and similar sites for stuff like store credit:

Reddit thread with more information:

The issue is that the origins of the keys from these grey market sites are untracable, and sometimes originate from fraudulent transactions (stolen credit cards for example). Once flagged playstation/xbox/Nintendo get notified of all the keys involved in the transaction and they will then ban any accounts that have redeemed them.

The first step of course will need to be confirming that that was in fact the reason for the ban. Once you have the you need to follow the steps in the reddit thread above to try and prove your innocence.

But I'd strongly advise people to use the likes of CDKeys etc for steam games only and not store credit for any digital platforms, particularly not the console ones. With steam games, all steam will do is revoke the key in question rather than suspend/ban your entire account.

If you need store credit/subscription codes then use a legitimate source such as Amazon (the ones sold by amazon themselves, not third parties on amazon).

Man, it's absolutely unbelievable that this shit is even legal and the garbage companies like Sony don't get punished for this fraud practices.

A good reason to become PC master race and be friends with this guy:

Have you pre ordered a switch 2 or proclaimed 30fps gaming to be acceptable online? Both are banable offences.

Prime example (using steam deck). Take note of "you must agree with the terms of EULA to play Stellaris".

Theoretically if I disagreed with or violated the terms they can deny access

Honestly, as someone who plays a lot of indie games on their Switch handheld and rarely sees a steady 30fps, a locked 30fps would be amazing.

It's the same for all digital storefronts. Especially on consoles.
Just buy physical. Even if disc only got the code, it's not tied to an account and can be used unlimited times

I just checked on the ps app and I didn't see a name for just barso. There were lots of variants but no "Barso"
Thanks, I have all of the privacy settings turned on so they worked at least or maybe everything is removed once your banned.

I remember abusing the Javelin glitch back in MW2, getting console banned on 360 and couldn't make another account. Couldn't even play games offline because games don't save anymore once a console is banned, so my discs were useless. Explaining that to my parents was fun. Any console that you connect to online you are at the mercy of that company at all times.

A permaban though? That's extreme.
They've banned for less. However, we have had a bunch of people come here, cry about a ban, only to find out they did something to flag their account.
PSN ACCOUNT BAN brings up some interesting results, within the site. I am not victim blaming here, in fact, I hope OP gets the account back.

Well at least in this case (unlike similar threads we've had before in the past) the OP has been pretty transparent about what he has and hasn't done.

This sounds like it could be it, to me.
I checked my post history and other users were sharing their codes too but they probably didn't cancel their preorder when I think about it.
What is so frustrating about this whole situation is that you can't contact the moderation team that makes this decision.
They don't offer any system to try a reason with them on the decision that's made.
I've emailed their general manager and UK lead Mark Bowles and also Amir Vonsover Global Vice President, Litigation, Employment & Compliance at PlayStation but have received nothing in reply.

Keep trying till you hit the ultimate deadend or get the account back.

Yep. My old 360 is banned too because I played halo 3 before release… in single player.
It didn't matter that I had tons of other original games. Whole console banned forever. Banned hardware. No other new account can ever be online on it.

I've also asked for all details they have on me through this government agency https://ico.org.uk/for-organisation...ct-access-requests/a-guide-to-subject-access/

I was about to ask you if you where i the EU/UK so you could tell them they can go fuck themselves in the "we won't give you any information" front and get a SAR which they are forced to respond to in a short amount of time or get a rather excessive fine.

If they respond with something like "they can't give you information because it would breach competition laws or security" report their ass for an even bigger fine.

I'm on page 3, haven't read each post but did you get an email with the specific reason(s) from PSN, OP?

I remember during the PS4/3 era you could actually call Customer Service and discuss these issues. The removal of that option in large part has caused a lot of confusion. The OP shouldn't need to be emailing Sony execs just to get a reply to his support ticket. It is unacceptable, and I really hope watch BBC Watchdog look into this case one day.

OP, you've done some great research already. Please keep us updated.

Contact customer service that you didn't receive an email. Ask them to resend it. That should be easy for them. Then we can get more details about your case.

I'm on page 3, haven't read each post but did you get an email with the specific reason(s) from PSN, OP?

He previously outlined the specific reason in an old thread/post:

I just received their decision today one month later after total radio silence and they're not restoring my account that they've permanently suspended for fraud.
This is an account I've had since PS3 with over one thousand games and loads of DLC too.
I don't play online apart from Destiny which I started about three months ago, my privacy settings are all set to only me.
Every purchase I've made has been with my debit card linked to my account and the last ten purchases are showing as withdrawn from my bank account. My last purchase was Concord deluxe edition pre order which I cancelled within fourteen days once I saw the negativity escalate.
They refuse to tell me what fraud was committed and it was a final decision and that's that.
What a crock of shit.

So yeh, it's either due to him giving out the Concord codes and then cancelling, or (most likely) the keys he was getting from CDKeys etc were flagged as being obtained through fraudulent means.

Man that sucks and is kinda ridiculous TBH.

The only thing I can suggest is to bring it up on social media, twitter etc, and make a fuss.

What's wild is the consoles ability to save to the hard drive is tied to its .kv file in the kernel (keyvault) so that's what they target and ban. Renders the console a brick even offline. If you have it JTAG'd or RGH you can purchase clean ones and swap them out but average user is screwed.
