I liked Death Stranding a lot, but I want to see how much they improved the game's mechanics and combat. I hope for BT fights to be a little more engaging this time around.

Japan is racist as all hell, especially for minorities. Even for white or non-Japanese Asians, Japan is not a very friendly place. I knew a girl who was born and grew up in Japan, but her father was white. She would never be considered Japanese inside of Japan because of her father being white. She always felt like an outsider because of it
A ton of the uproar about AC Shadows was not so much about historical accuracy, but just pure racism, where players are forced to play as Yasuke
I just find it to be a fun observation. Kojima is in a room with 30 or so journalists, and the two black journalists are side by side of him. He's embracing it. Which is cool. Even if it comes off as bit ham handed and cringe

But maybe that's just where they were standing before the person was ready to take the pic......I mean I don't know, just seems weird to assume the worst. Either way Kojima has never had accusations of racism, so I'm not sure why they'd even have it at the top of their mind to "PR" their way out of.

I wasn't talking about Kojima being a racist. I don't believe that. The picture does seem a bit PR driven, but whatever. It could be a coincidence, I just think it's much more likely it is not

Yes it is, currently playing it right now the directors cut for Ps5. I enjoy the gameplay, and beautiful graphics. The story and lore is very interesting. Contrary to what other says that it is just a walking simulator, the game is actually very tactical and cerebral, that involves careful planning and tactics especially when it comes to deliveries and traversing its harsh and mysterious environment, and also expose to dangers from BT and mules ambush. The game has interesting world building concept. The atmosphere is very cozy, it is catharsis in some way.

One of my games of the gen easily and I'm thoroughly a gameplay-first kind of player. Delivering packages, building roads, planning ambushes to raid camps for fabricator materials, figuring out how to survive certain elements etc...I found myself really addicted and wrapped up in it.
It scratches a similar itch as Subnautica for me. The atmosphere and setting does heavy lifting and it's satisfying as hell somehow.

And getting notifications that your structures was used by other players is awesome. That feeling of helping someone else scale a mountain or rapple down a cliff on difficult terrain is so satisfying.
Playing this game each time feels like I'm learning something new. I'm in the later stages of the game and only recently found you can tie down your cargo on the floating carrier. Amazing.

I really hope DS2 has MGS tactical elements. I think it will, just by the obvious nod to Snake in the trailer. It would be a great change of pace from the traversal and building mechanics that were in Death Stranding
