But... But... Only certain games will be digital keys.

Predicts the worst decade for Sony starting 2022
Another day and another reason to despise the Switch 2. It looks like most games will not be physical just digital keys in a box. I wouldn't be shocked if Nintendo themselves went all in on this.

It's a sellable digital license that requires a physical key.

It's kind of neat in that sense, but it's not purely physical media obviously and certainly not games that are playable w/o ever connecting to the internet like a lot of purists expect.

Nintendo ADMITS that Switch 2 Games are ALL DIGITAL?! NO PHYSICAL GAMES!

This isn't actually true, although it does seem like a huge number of third party games are going this way. Best thing you can do is vote with your wallet - if nobody buys these games (and don't buy them digitally), then publishers will course correct in a big hurry. If the casuals just go along with this, or worse: use it as an excuse to just buy digital anyway, then yeah physical games are dead.

Personally I was mega hyped for the Bravely Default remake, until I found out it's a game key card title which means I'm just going to skip playing it entirely out of principle.

What a waste. Big reason to buy physical switch carts was that by buying physical titles, I could save on storage space needed for my games. I got by with a much smaller sd card than I would have otherwise needed.

Compared to all the other complaints ($80 games, expensive accessories, price and rarity of express sd cards, etc.)
This one comes off as a non-issue to me.
Being mad at nintendo for this would be like being mad at sony and microsoft for making you install games from the bluray discs

It's possible that Switch 2 just may not be for you.
Also this. I'm convinced that the people that 'despise' the switch 2 were already those who were already looking for reasons to.

There's no way I'm going to click on the video and incentivize YouTube to keep showing me that dude's hideous face, but the title of his video is false. We already have confirmation that all announced first party Switch 2 games, including the Switch 2 Edition games, are complete on the cart.

It's only third parties that are using the game key cards, because they don't want to pay the high per unit price for a 64 GB card (and it seems like Nintendo may be phasing out the smaller game cards for the Switch 2, though that hasn't yet been confirmed).

What will happen when Nintendo will turn off the download servers in 10 years?
