Switch 2 Pre-Orders. Did you get one?

MK Bundles

I did have one pre-ordered but I cancelled it since I know I'll barely play it and it'll just collect dust whilst I'm playing through all of my other games. Also, prices for games are ridiculous and the majority of third party games I've already played.

Maybe I'll revisit purchasing one when that new Fromsoft game launches, I'll see.

I was having a ton of trouble at both target and Walmart (MKW bundle), but my friend was able to pre order 1 from each 20 minutes before me when I was stuck in the buy menu. I paid her one of them and then all of sudden Walmart let me buy, so now I have 2. One for me and one for my daughter. Took about an hour and was pretty miserable.

It was a shitshow overall.

Walmart.com says I got one, but I'm skeptical of it being cancelled. Best Buy was my 1st choice and that was downright broken. Even tried Target with no luck. Oddly it looks like they're currently available now at Walmart - either it's a fuck up or all the scalper-bots are done.

Got a regular base unit from Walmart about 20min after they went live, but I wouldn't doubt if it's canceled. Currently sitting outside GameStop waiting for them to open so I can get a MKW bundle. They have 40 MKW bundles and 19 base units. There's 5 of us here.😅

I feel like a dunce for trying till they straight up said sold out. Target, Walmart, and Best Buy. Two computers and a phone, multiple tabs open. I couldnt complete not one purchase. Now I have less than 3 hours of sleep and i have a long day of god damn work....

Got mine on Smiths Toys in reveal day so I'm pretty much sorted.

I went to Nintendo Museum today and got a couple gatchas. The results were ominous... I hope it's not a sign

Even with all the controversy about Game Key Cards, and raising prices....I'm still just hyped. New game consoles are still like Christmas for me. Nothing more exciting than getting your hands on new hardware, with a new library of games opening up to you.

Gonna be so hyped for June 5th now, so I'm gonna have to keep myself distracted until then.

I'm gonna keep my order at Best Buy, and I also preordered a Pro Controller, and Mario Kart World physical. Still gonna want to get Cyberpunk 2077, both Zelda games, maybe Ruin Factory because it looks kinda cool, and I've been wanting to get back into Street Fighter 6, and even with the Game Key Card version, it's a good deal for the DLC coming with it all.

After getting it from Walmart, Best Buy's line eventually asked me to log in nearly an hour later. After re-logging in it put me back in line...I thought it restarted from scratch, but it let me preorder one less than five minutes later. I guess the moral is, don't give up.

Target was just a complete dumpster fire.

One lesson: save a different CC (or even CC company) at each store to get ready. So the antics at the first store won't flag your CC and slow down the next one.

For the first time even since preordering consoles, I didn't get one in the first wave.

I usually preorder from Amazon and they shit the bed with Nintendo.

Secured two pre-orders of MKW bundles on the 9th (not in the US) plus two Pro controllers, both cameras (the piranha plant for the fun of it), two memory cards as there are no bigger ones to be found anywhere at the moment so any extra storage is appreciated, and two carrying cases.

I just wish the GameCube controller (and NES, SNES and N64 controllers as well) were sold at retailers like the Pro controller.

One for me, one for my fiancée. She doesn't know I bought two, she thinks we'll be picking up just one.

I don't expect to use the cameras for online play other than when we are playing games online together at different locations. I expect the Piranha plant camera to be rather crappy so if it is worse than I expect, I'll buy another standard one and the Piranha plant one gets a new purpose as a display piece

I fully intended on preordering and was in line with Walmart but I ended up just going to sleep. I'm just not that excited for MK World I guess. If MP4 was a launch title (can't believe it's not) I definitely would have pulled the trigger.

Just checked Walmart for S&Gs and both SKUs are still available for preorder.

Target was the best deal.

I wasn't aware of their $15 off $100 spent discount. Then if you have a Target Red Card you get 5% more off. I saved 40 bucks off the Switch 2 Mario Kart bundle and got the cost down to $460.

Actively tried to avoid Target, so of course Target is where I ended up getting one.

Currently now at Gamestop trying to secure one for my Nephew.

No interest. Went to toys r us early for the switch on launch day cause everyone forgot it existed!

This time I've got enough stuff to keep me occupied. I don't care about mario kart and I'm not a big enough Prime fan to buy that. The info about 3rd party physical games and the pricing of games really killed off any enthusiasm

Waiting for OLED. Going to take a while probably.

It's probably at least a 3 year wait, even 4. My guess they'll do a real "pro" upgrade this time as both Nintendo and Nvidia might want to refresh the hardware to keep it up to speed with games at that time to strengthen it for the second half of it's lifecycle.

So why wait? Why not just get one, enjoy it and get a new one in like 4 years? It's a very long wait for perhaps just a screen (and battery upgrade), which is questionable as people are really complimenting the one used in the launch Switch 2.

I managed to get one on Walmart. I really liked their system. It put you in line and you had to wait 10 minutes or so and then it gave you a chance to add to cart and check out. No refreshing, no server crashing. It did reject my credit card at first but that was my bank questioning why I was buying a Switch 2 with no games which is fair.

Got it Walmart, but not from the "you're in line" system, had to use a direct link from Wario64 to order.

The queue systems and Target never worked for me.
Same here. The "lines" never worked for me. The MKW put me in queue, but the regular kept failing to add, so I kept backing up and adding the regular and it finally worked. Best Buy never left the queue for me.

Just got to line at GameStop, didn't bother with the online shenanigans (was apparently a shitshow for Canada). I'm about 25th in line. Should be good.

Snagged one though Walmart last night, was way later because all it did was keep telling me to wait in the line. Eventually I just got an add to cart option.

So far they haven't cancelled the order. Target I had one in my cart at like 11:02 but the orders kept immediately getting canceled.

I never saw any option to ever add one to my cart at Best Buy. Sat in the line for more than an hour only to get to a sorry sold out screen.

So overall just like with Switch 1, at least with my experience, Walmart was the place to have a fighting chance to get one.

If anyone missed preorders I know at least Walmart keeps some stock for launch in stores. But you will probably have to wait awhile the day before to keep your spot in line.
