I'm debating taking off Thursday to play my Switch 2. The only thing stopping me is that my wife and kids will be home and the wife won't let me play. Maybe I go over to my parents since they are out of town. Their tv is crap compared to mine though.

Sounds like we've come to the root of your problem. If you played in handheld mode, you could just take it to work with you and play it there.

I was really starting to get a little paranoid, because some people on reddit were claiming that Best Buy employees were telling them that they weren't going to be open for the midnight launch of Switch 2, even though they were on the list.
I had to alleviate those fears, so I stopped into Best Buy where I have my preordered today, and they will in fact be open!! Hype!!

No, Europe based. Mediamarkt Belgium in my case. They completely fd up a console preorder of mine in the past, but it's the only place i managed to secure one, so I'm a bit worried. All the other peripherals, I ordered at a shop I do trust, so I can see myself ending up with everything excerpt the thing I want most.

Check your emails/texts. I literally just got an email stating that I had to update my payment method. They said I only had one chance to save a payment method or they would cancel
my preorder. Talk about nervous. Luckily I updated my info and now my bank is showing a hold for my system(Mario Kart World bundle).

Some Best Buy stores will be open at 9 pm Wednesday night on the West Coast, you can check the web site to see if yours will be
Turns out mine will be so I might stop by tomorrow night and just grab my Switch 2 then instead of waiting until Thursday during the day

Thanks for the heads up. There weren't any emails about payments, but I reviewed the order confirmation email from May 17th and it literally says in there, "This item is expected to start shipping on 06/04/2025." I paid for "Overnight" shipping at the time of purchase for $20 to keep it out the sorting warehouses as much as possible. Says 1-2 business days, so hopefully it will arrive safely on the 5th.

I think this needs to be seen in person on the actual console. As HDR conversion to SDR can look pretty bad. It's funny because I have thought the same watching some YouTube videos and wondered where the colour has gone. But some videos look as vibrant as ever. In particular the Nintendo Switch direct trailer. Again this will be a little compressed on YouTube but at least it's 4K. This looks pretty awesome on my LG OLED telly and JVC 4K projector.

Only 14 hours or so to go............ We are in the final stages and I am starting to get all giddy. I will be sorting out all my cables tonight and will even update my LG OLED's input label to "Switch 2".... It's been a long eight years.
My daughter is patiently waiting for my white joycon OLED Switch, which is in pristine condition. This will of course look like trash in a few weeks and the back will be covered in stickers etc....... You pick her stuff up sometimes and think do you ever clean a screen.

Just got my Skull and Co, looks the same as for the Ally and SD, the added "Handles" will make the switch a bit nicer to hold.
What I have noticed from the cardboard Switch 2 they add into the case for an example is the right hand analog stick is literally up against the edge of the controller, it feels quite awkward to put your thumb on it like you are contorting your thumb, hopefully its a bit different in 3d.

I just received mine as well. "DHL-Express" (The controller was sent with "DHL-World Package"), says it's estimated for tomorrow, man if that turns out to be true I'll be a happy boy!

So, i just played around a bit.. can't login nor go to the eshop, as you need the latest update for the system, but then it says i already have the latest update. I'm assuming the real latest update will go live tomorrow. Fingers crossed the servers don't explode...
Can't redeem MKW code on the Nintendo redeem page on my smartphone neither, as the release date is tomorrow.
The option to limit battery percentage to 80% seems to be automatically enabled, and I can't change that in the settings...maybe because I'm currently connected to the tv? I'll try undocked later, but I think it's nice they automatically have that one enabled to save the battery's longevity.
I'll try one of my switch 1 cartridges now to see if that works.

Can't really do much with the system for now, not being able to log in and it requiring an update and all.
Maybe it has a built in countdown timer. I hope it does, for people buying it after release sate and not necessarily connecting to the internet straight away. Would be bad to have to connect to the internet for it to be able to play any games, for preservation reasons down the line.

They feel great on my unit. All buttons feel nice although coming from playing ps5 loads lately, I'm not used to the L2/R2 equivalent buttons being so clicky.
