Nintendo Switch 2 |OT| Switch 2 Nintendo, because now we're playing with power

I did a transfer from one switch to the other but there no frigging way to pause all downloads or cancel them until it starts?

So the 256GB is full already and more pending :?

I had exactly the same thing mate delivered this morning and similarly I was annoyed.

I went down to the store to pick one up fresh and... turns out all the seals have basically disintegrated on all the consoles they had. I saw 3 of them, 4 including mine all the same. Staff confirmed the issue seems widespread and they've been advised about it.

I'm still returning my original as its also weirdly dusty and dirty inside but I genuinely think this is nothing more than cheap poor quality sticker seals. Slight tarnish on an otherwise exciting day.
Customs?. I could imagine them getting spooked over this launch and how many of these boxes are going to be sold and sold fast.

How's the Welcome Tour thing? Feeling weak because I found I still had $40 in my Nintendo wallet from the WiiU/3DS days.

the only way i found was by selection them one by one unfortunately. if you only want certain thing than you shouldn't do the transfer and just download what you need. i copied my switch 1:1 but some old ass demos downloaded too. deleted those.

I thought it might give me the option to select but did it F*?k

All over the world apparently. Mine was broken too.

Probably bc of MKW code? In the Reddit threads someone said it's because of a weak seal. Lol. Sure.

You mean a seal on the box? Mine didn't have one. Not broken. Just not there at all.

What's the issue with screen protectors?
Never cared for em, they seem to make the screen just a tinge less pretty. Also the old ones back in the day had bubbles all over the place, could not ever smoothe it out.

I know it's not tempered glass and better and actually protect better as well.

I use a matte anti glare . It takes a bit of pop out of the screen (5%) but it removes all the reflections etc.

I just can't deal with seeing my fat fucking face while gaming mate.

Got mine this morning but didnt have time to play, only download some game, played 30min at work hogwart legacy and damn it look good, console look great , joycons are confortable, i feel like the switch 2 feel premium compare to the switch 1 they nailed so far great impression, amazon delivered cyberpunk and sf6 cant wait to test home

Maybe this works differently for you but generally if I'm undecided about picking up something or not I end up doing it like 95% of the time. So maybe do it and end your suffering early.
Oh I bought it.... its in my living room unopened. I didn't know DK wasn't out yet so might just throw it on ebay

lol oh agree with THAT. I might would try an Anti-Glare one to be fair.

I am weird and play angled. Like either a table beside me and the Deck/Switch 1 docked with controller or my chair next to my bed or on my desk.

I SELDOM... play holding the unit like the normal people of earth. That is not to say never, but seldom.

You are special my friend.

But do try the matte one. Pick one with a Installation tray. 11 euro on Amazon for 2. Jsaux is the brand.

Issue with the seals going on all over Europe

Honestly expect more from Nintendo. Tarnishing the experience and annoying retailers and customers alike to save a few pennies.
Mine from Nintendo was fine I had to cut the external box a bit and the Switch 2 box seal to get to another box that contains it all.

The big outer box that had the Switch 2 and the pro controller was brown on the outside and Nintendo branded on the inside, with a big picture of Mario so I was wondering what I was cutting into at first because I could see the Nintendo red through the gap.

As a previous Steam Deck owner, the hardware is great. It justifies the price in my opinion.

The software offering however leaves a lot to be desired. Thankfully I never played Breath of the Wild so I have something worthwile to play.

Was so confused. No seals on the box and Mario Kart was printed on the box wasn't a sticker. Couldn't find a code for MKW, Transfered over went to eshop and was prompted to download MKW. Then got error its not out yet LOL. 12:03 am it went through.

Got home and opened my Walmart order. I got a Coke and a Prinkles can in the switch bag and the Pro controller bag. My son is pumped. Lol
I have heard bout these pringles and coke, what is the deal? lol Cool for sure

but true gamers would have Mt. Dew and Doritos. guessing walmart made some type of deal with those companies.

The joycons definitely wobble a little. I'm actually not that impressed by the build. I think it looks more premium than it actually is.

That youtube influencer couple who always get posted on here assured us the joycons were totally rock solid.

It's a nice system. I love the bigger screen. Still downloading games before I see what it looks like on a monitor/tv.

yeah i noticed joycons a little wobbly too but kid thought they were great in practice.

I know Bravely Default was 3DS game so the visuals are not hight tech but god damn the hand drawn background art for towns looks gorgeous on big screen.

I haven't used the old Switch for ages, but using the new Switch 2 feels pretty much just the same so far. Even the UI is the same, and the new Mario Kart (only game I have tested) feels pretty much the same.
I got it for Metroid though, so I don't really care about anything else abort it. And it's fine that it feels like the old one, with some improved fidelity.

The store is much snappier as are downloads seem much faster. Loving the Gamecube controller but I wish they wouldn't have omitted the minus button.

it's not really possible for them to not wiggle a bit. they have to slot in and out after all, and unless you want them to scrape off plastic each time you do it, they gotta have some room to move in and out freely.

they feel far more stable than the Switch 1 joycons tho that's for sure.

This, even the dock has more space for actual Switch so it wont scratch the screen even time you take it out.

Did anyone manage to make the right symbol disappear when calibrating the HDR? :messenger_grinning_sweat:
Yes but it took a lot of pressing up to do so.

My console was downloading shit for hours. Ancient things like HollowKnight were re downloaded. I'll have to go through it all and clear off 90% i fear.

I tried some games (after managing to find my old Switch, charging it, trying to pair it with the new console, failing to do so several times, finding out you need an update for it, and then trying it again), looks better for course, cleaner screen, better resolution (when maxes the dynamic resolution).

Tested:
- Lego Skywalker Saga: better image quality, smoother framerate (the game was already running okay)
- Vampyr: smoother, cleaner experience
- GRID Autosport (which as an uncaped performance mode): doesn't work
- Super Mario Odyssey: fantastic look, but I have no reason to pick my very old save back from where I left
- Zelda: looks fantastic, but I can't remember where I left the game so I'll start it over

Please someone replace the Wii Us with Switch 2s.

Got mine and bought Fast Fusion (only 15eu?!) and DOOM (2016), just can't get over the novelty of playing full fat Doom games on a handheld lol.

First 'normal' games I'll be playing are Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (bought it on release but never even opened it because the framerate was so shoddy for BOTW to begin with) and those top down Zelda games: Link's Awakening and Echoes of Wisdom. Hyped!

Loaded up Vampire Survivors, which the original Switch could play but had massive issues with slowdowns under certain circumstances (even a fast PC does lol). So, I loaded up Sammy in endless mode and selected the mode where picking up money bags gives you cash when killing enemies. For those of you that don't know, this is like a surefire way to lag the system, because your character will level up thousands of times pretty quickly, making your weapons and whatnot fill the screen.

The results were pretty impressive! I only had some minor slowdown, and only around level 900 and by then there was so much happening on the screen it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

Tbh, this is more of a game (engine) issue rather than anything related to hardware lol. But it's great that the Switch 2 can brute-force it nonetheless for sure.

So had a few hours with mine now, Mainly playing Docked. BOTW/TOTK are a massive improvement straight off the bat, MKW impresses too. However Fast Fusion has absolutely awful image quality even on Quality mode, Looks like DLSS artifacting all over the place. The Xenoblade games not having patches is very disappointing, Hopefully Nintendo gets on that asap.

Doom is not patched though, so it will run at max 720p@30fps docked and 576p@30fps on handheld
