What's your FaceDNA

And I work in cybersecurity. Facebook is worse.
Aaah, then it's all good, right? Just upload that stuff

Facebook's way worse anyway

Never understood the facination with DNA ancestor stuff. What relevance is it to yourself?

I'm with you on this. After my dad retired he went around the bend on genealogy stuff. I think he just wanted to fill his time and also was looking for some kind of connection to add to his life, though he certainly didn't need one. He tried really hard to get me interested and I pretended to play along but I never really saw the point. He learned that we had family members who fought for both the Union and the Confederacy, and that we could trace one branch of our family line back to one of the first families of Virginia... but what relevance did that really have on my life? None. Nice little factoids to fill the brain, I guess, but otherwise meaningless.

The only reason I'd be interested in ancestry stuff these days is because I'm Italian-American on my mother's side with my grandfather being a direct immigrant so that might allow me to apply for jure sanguinis Italian citizenship. Getting all the genealogical and ancestral records would be a necessity to do so. Though if I recall correctly they've tightened up requirements for such citizenship lately so that may not be possible anymore.
