As they complain about people complaining about people complaining

No! I enjoy the story and gameplay. I'm not too bothered about how attractive and sexy the characters are. I'm not sad or pathetic enough to let that bother me. This isn't a porno. Not every female character needs to be an over sexualised one.
Yes.Why? Are you playing a game or getting a hard on and a wank while playing?
Just so I am clear, the developers chose to have a fat, out of shape, and unattractive character as a warrior to is going to slaughter untold amounts of enemies in this game. A female at that. And people up the ladder said yes, this is a great idea. She has STRONG lead character vibes. The strongest i have ever seen.

What the fuck are you even talking about? These posts are getting more retarded the longer this thread goes.Just so I am clear, the developers chose to have a fat, out of shape, and unattractive character as a warrior to is going to slaughter untold amounts of enemies in this game. A female at that. And people up the ladder said yes, this is a great idea.
Really? Even from a financial standpoint thats suicide, let alone from a basic commonsense perspective it makes no sense. Justify why this got approved, anyone, please.
The quest structure is open in Ghost of Yōtei. Is it structured as wholly open where there are six people you must kill and you can go after them in any order or direction you want?
Source: https://www.gameinformer.com/interv...re-philosophy-on-balancing-freedom-with-storySo to be clear – it's not that. It's not that you can pick any order of the six. And I'll tell you why. Nate and I and the studio – and you've played a lot of our games – we really believe in the structure of story. It's really important to us that we develop great characters with good arcs with beginning, middles, and ends. You got to have that, right? That is true. There is an arc with a structure in place.
There's a bit more choice in there, but there's still a linear story structure that we really believe in to make sure that Atsu's vengeance quest tears at the heartstrings. That's the ultimate goal.
Dumb take? Your chatting shit. Cool isn't understood as attractive. That's the dumb take. People have clearly stated she isn't attractive enough. If you don't like the character don't buy the game simples.Very dumb take, also deflective of the real issue. Not really surprising.
By "attractive" it's also undestood COOL. A main character needs to be cool, or else why the fuck is even the MC.
You can't "enjoy the story" playing as an uninteresting avatar. Why should I be bothered with him/her?

There's more interesting stuff in the link but they atleast confirmed a linear story structure. Let's see how it pans out.
I dunno why this is the default response when people ask for beautiful female character protags. They don't all have to be/look like Juliet (Lollipop chainsaw) or Eve (Stellar blade). They can still achieve a good, cool, graceful and reasonably attractive appearance/physique. Wild concept, I know. Its clear that its something many modern developers in western AAA studios have purposefully strayed away from in the recent decade because some bad actors deemed it "problematic". People are just tired of it. Its even more weird when we're talking about characters that belong to the realm of imagination and escapism. No! I enjoy the story and gameplay. No, the opposite.Herman Hulst did get a demotion.
This is a lie. As shown in the Death Stranding 2 credits (for this example, but same goes for any other recent game) nothing changed, the first party games strategy and heads continue being managed from the west:If some insiders are to be believed, they already are. Portfolio supervision has pivoted back to Japan, supposedly since the year prior.

Yurinka, you're entitled to post whatever walltexts you like. You seem to have a hardend tendency to go down hard in Sony's defence whenever possible. I'm going to take SneakersSO's word over yours, thanks.(...)
This is a lie. As shown in the Death Stranding 2 credits (for this example, but same goes for any other recent game) nothing changed, the first party games strategy and heads continue being managed from the west:
- Hermen Hulst continues as CEO of SIE Studios Business Unit (he's the one in charge of PS Studios, Bungie and PS Productions, support teams and everything else related to their first party IPs, works from Amsterdam, Netherlands but constantly travels to the different main SIE/PS Studios locations)
- The Head of Internal Production continues being Scott Rohde (works in the USA / SIE HQ since forever)
- The Head of External Production continues being John Rostron (head of XDEV, works in Liverpool, UK)
- The Head of Development Strategy at SIE / PS Studios continues being Angie Smets (ex-Guerrilla, works from Amsterdam, Netherlands)
- Under PlayStation Studios Creative Arts (the main support team for all their first and second party games), at the Strategy department of Creative Arts: Creative for Death Stranding 2 there was Laura Brothers (Senior Manager of Creative since a couple years ago) as Senior Manager of Strategy (works at San Diego, USA)
- Under Creative Direction there's under Senior Creative Direction Brandon Akiaten (working at SIE America since 21 years ago) and Martin Lopez as Senior Creative Lead
- Under Portfolio & Strategy of PlayStation Studios, all of them from the SIE HQ office at San Mateo, are credited as Director Eric McCall, David Brown as Portfolio Manager, Sarah Abodalo as Strategic Planning Associate (back in October promoted to Portfolio Strategist- Studio Business Group) and Brianna Krejci as Strategic Planning Analyst (since July 2024 her role now is Franchise Strategist, which she defines as 'Building first global Franchise Strategy and Development team at PlayStation Studios, helping our rich trove of IP reach new monetary and cultural heights.')
- Under PlayStation Studio's IP Franchise Expansion (all of them from LA, USA) appear credited Carter Swan as Senior Director (been there since 2018 as Senior Producer of IP Expansion), Vince Cheng as Manager (was Film & TV Producer, left last year), Anne-Marie Lee as Senior Creative Associate at PlayStation Productions and Micah Askins as Development Coordinator at PlayStation Productions.
Even if they did her body isn't that bad despite some unflattering pics some post out there for known reasons. She can look good tooThey just use her voice. Not her body...

does point 1 come from the dissection of the trailer or they had previews already? Some nice little details on combat:
- The combat isn't just going to be rock paper scissors as the decision making will have to be based on circumstance. Each weapon has unique strengths, like the Kusarigama can do area of effect swing attacks if you are surrounded. Or the spear can be used to push people off ledges/cliffs or control distance. So different preferred playstyles will naturally emerge.
- You can potentially get disarmed anywhere and that is physics-based. So if you are on a bridge and get disarmed, your weapon could fall off way below and you will have to improvise. Same applies to the enemy as well. Hope this isn't buggy where fallen weapons become impossible to reach/retrieve)
- You can pick enemies' disarmed weapons and use it against them or others. Not just stuff already on the ground.
- As your own bounty goes up, you will have others hunting you, including setting traps/ambush you. I wonder if this could play out at camps. Didn't RDR 2 do something similar as well? Waiting for the remaster to play it
It's from this video:does point 1 come from the dissection of the trailer or they had previews already?
It's from this video:
Yep! Thought it may be worth pointing out. All of these interviews seem to have little tidbits that weren't known before:oh this is new right?
Also, they are gonna kill the dog for easy drama, aren't they?!![]()
Yep! Thought it may be worth pointing out. All of these interviews seem to have little tidbits that weren't known before:
- The wolf is a pretty significant companion. Which lines up with my earlier guess that the Wolf has its own upgrade tree, as it was hinted in the trailer's UI.
- The wolf is always roaming around your general vicinity, doing its own thing. You don't get to summon it, but it will show up at unexpected times to assist. Question is, how random is this? Would be cool to have it show up totally unexpected during a tough encounter in the open world, but doesn't if you die and reload.
- As mentioned earlier in the thread, you can't kill the Yotei 6 in any order. There is a linear structure, but some freedom in the approach. Like starting off exploring different regions for different clues and weapons. Not clear if the order is strictly linear or there is some flexibility.
- Play time is about the same length as GoT for golden path as well as Platinum.
- There will be a dedicated piece later on PS5 Pro support highlighting the differences, which is music to my ears. Not a simple upres, hopefully.
- Quality mode on base PS5 seems to be doing native 4K. So it's likely another 4K/30 1440p/60 scenario for base PS5.
- Revenge is just the start of Atsu's story, and there will be a bigger arc.
Lol. I agree!
I'm expecting a TLOU style PSSR update. Should look nice and sharp at 60 fps. Anything beyond that will be a bonus. Definitely not expecting any overhauls in look, such as RT. Better shadow quality and AO would be great as that's a bit lacking in some shots. With this, silent hill f and gta 6 next year, it's a good time to get a pro! Thanks for the post overall! I was avoiding a lot of info but now I am starting to read and watch more. I am debating picking up a PS5 Pro, and this game is what is tempting to me to do so.

I am glad they are overhauling the combat system. The stance system in GOT did not bring much depth to the combat, unlike the Nioh games. You can add plenty of depth without stances. By the synopsis, each weapon has proper skill tree that is gained by exploring the mapSome nice little details on combat:

I honestly have no idea why something that used to be such a mundane view about 10~15 years ago is now controversial in the year 2025.
Because things move on. Games have moved on. If you want sexy female characters that are half nude then play those games that cater for that. This isn't that type of game. Maybe step out of your mum's basement and into the real world.
The more I read about and watch this game, the more it looks like a Japanese RDR 2 by PlayStation. Some nice little details on combat:

Lol. Sounds like you can't handle the criticism dished at this game and almost take it on a personal level. Seems like you didn't even bother to read the reply in full nor watch the vid either. Your choice anyway.Because things move on. Games have moved on. If you want sexy female characters that are half nude then play those games that cater for that. This isn't that type of game. Maybe step out of your mum's basement and into the real world.
Most people are not asking for half naked woman, I just want a good looking character design in my game.....I dont think thats too much ask.Because things move on. Games have moved on. If you want sexy female characters that are half nude then play those games that cater for that. This isn't that type of game. Maybe step out of your mum's basement and into the real world.
Also, real world could be beautiful too. Asking for a good looking main character in a game is not a crime.Because things move on. Games have moved on. If you want sexy female characters that are half nude then play those games that cater for that. This isn't that type of game. Maybe step out of your mum's basement and into the real world.
What pencil dick answer is that?Because things move on. Games have moved on. If you want sexy female characters that are half nude then play those games that cater for that. This isn't that type of game. Maybe step out of your mum's basement and into the real world.

I agree with you, but there is an element where the character and the game is quite unfairly treated because people latch on to the voice actor's belief and personality and/or because they cannot let go of their crusade against Woke Sony and it gets annoying. By any of the "old standards" the in game character is not any less beautiful than Jin was, it looks like we have similar hot spring scenes, etc…Very dumb take, also deflective of the real issue. Not really surprising.

Are you still hung up about the protagonist? It's amusing how when it's a female character she has to be attractive but I've never heard this arguement when it's a male character? I wonder why eh?What pencil dick answer is that?
So anyone who wants an attractive protagonist in his game is automatically a horny one hand gamer?
Good for you! Also, real world could be beautiful too. Asking for a good looking main character in a game is not a crime.
I will not buy this game.
Is that so?Most people are not asking for half naked woman, I just want a good looking character design in my game.....I dont think thats too much ask.
Is she half naked? no but she is good looking character design.

???So stunning and Brave... Im getting goosebumps
Maybe it's because there aren't many uglified male main characters? Are you still hung up about the protagonist? It's amusing how when it's a female character she has to be attractive but I've never heard this arguement when it's a male character? I wonder why eh?
It's amazing how many people have complained about the FEMALE lead not being attractive enough rather than focus on the game which looks great to me. I've pre-ordered it.I agree with you, but there is an element where the character and the game is quite unfairly treated because people latch on to the voice actor's belief and personality and/or because they cannot let go of their crusade against Woke Sony and it gets annoying. For some people switching the main character in this distant sequel to a female character was the trigger they needed to just trash the game.
How many discussions online were trashed by people having an issue with Eve looks in Stellar Blade? Many, too many and it made no f-ing sense, but try this thought experiment and go to Ghost of Yotei's thread and pretend you put on ignore any post talking about the character looks (which again are not bad by any stretch of the imagination) or Woke Sony or how nasty the voice actress is meant to be or how non feminine people may think the voice actress looks might be or "Cuckman" or Abby memes or any of the sort that has zero relevance to the game and see what is left, how many posts are left (even in a gameplay preview video thread such as this one)…
If you cannot see the problem with that kind of trolling well I think you need to take another honest look at things.
Nah, many focused on the game and think the game look like a very safe and iterative dlc\expansion with barely any graphic progress. It's amazing how many people have complained about the FEMALE lead not being attractive enough rather than focus on the game which looks great to me. I've pre-ordered it.
Panajev2001a do you remember having any similar discussions about Jin's attractiveness during the development and showcase of the first game?
We've only seen a certain part of the game. Hopefully there will be more. The developers did allude to their being more to Atsu's arc than just the Yotei Six. Hopefully will include a legends mode and probably DLC.Nah, many focused on the game and think the game look like a very safe and iterative dlc\expansion with barely any graphic progress.
You must ignore 90% of the critics in this topic to come to that conclusion.
Yes! I have refused to play GTA 5 exactly because you play as this ugly shit!So when was the last time you had an issue with a male character not being good looking?
Donkey Kong game has cartoony artstyle similar to loony toons.I'm surprised you haven't complained about Donkey Kong not being attractive? Sorry my bad it isn't a female.........
Your defense crusade is admirable.. thats all.. Im trully touched. And the way you group together every criticic about the game character in the same "incel basement dweller" group its very brave. Because it shows you firmly believe in stereotypes, so others could see your posts and try to stereotype yourself like some pony tail, soy drinker, tofu eater male feminist, white knighting away in gaf while your wifes boyfriend's keeps her company in the background. Not me, I dont like stereotypes very much, most of the time???
Kaja Kallas?
