• Hey Guest. Check out your NeoGAF Wrapped 2025 results here!

I'm giving away a used RTX 5090 and 4090

+1 dont give up on gaming, if i win i will check out Total Warhammer III! i do tons of gaming and use all types of ai acelerated apps and would greatly benefit from a newer gpu.

Missed the bit about having a high end card. If i do win ill give it back to the thread

Not my giveaway and super generous of the OP however having no eligibility rules sure has attracted alot of flies. I'd hate to see this go to some wretch who doesn't contribute or just sells it on.

I lost all my shit, including my gaming PC, in a gas explosion destroyed my building. I need to rebuild my PC. This will help. +1.

If I win the 5090, I will myself do the same give away of my 4090 and if I win the 4090, I will ask for a redraw to give someone else the chance to win it.

What kind of bottlenecks would I be getting if I mixed a 5090 or even a 4080 with a 8th gen i7 and a 650W PSU?

(Of course im not assuming I've won the cards, it just crossed my mind that's all).

Nvidia recommends a 1000w PSU for a 5090 and I think around 800w(?) for a 4090. It's not a bottleneck as you call it if you don't have enough power.

You might be ok depending on what you are doing, I've never tried it. Think the 5090 alone can pull close to 600w

Edit: here you go.

Assuming it's an old i7, I don't think the PC case would even fit a modern, high-end GPU, let alone cool it. 650W PSU is definitely not enough for the RTX5090 but the RTX 4080 should work (my 4080S PC has 850W PSU but it uses 400W at max). Upgrading the PC case and power supply would allow you to use 5090 and play plenty of modern games at 4K 60 FPS, even on this old i7 processor.

Never win anything as well but what the the hell !

How generous but very sad that you're retiring from the hobby :(

BLUF: if you are interested in participating in the giveaway, please write "+1" somewhere within your post by the deadline of midnight EDT Monday, August 4th.

Hi everyone,

Recently I wrapped up my final campaign in Total Warhammer III, and with that I'm done playing video games. It seems a waste to let some of this PC hardware gather dust, so I've decided to give away my used RTX GPUs to this fantastic community. The cards in question are an ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 OC Edition and an MSI RTX 4090 Gaming Trio. I tested both to make sure they were functioning properly prior to swapping in an old 1080 Ti that will serve me henceforth.

I'm leaving the raffle open to the full international community. I will cover any associated shipping costs.

Some requests:
- if you already have a high-end graphics card, I would kindly ask that you sit this one out so as to give those less fortunate a better chance.
- if you do end up winning, please don't just immediately sell off or scalp the card. I will know, and I will be very sad, and I will be forced to take certain severe disciplinary measures against the offender.

**If you'd like to be entered in the giveaway, please write "+1" and post in this thread. This will help me to more quickly trawl through all of the participants. You only need to post once. A winner will be drawn at random (via post #) for the 5090 first; the winner of that card will be removed from the subsequent drawing for the 4090.

The deadline is the stroke of midnight ushering in Monday, August the 4th, Eastern Daylight Time (UTC - 04:00).

Good luck!

I don't have a gaming pc and I'd love to build one running Steam OS. Only parts I have atm is an NVME M.2 SSD Drive I'm using as extra storage in a PS5. Thanks for the opportunity.

A more moderm CPU will be better but a bottleneck is something variable. It depends on a lot of factors, it varies from game to game, parts within the same game, resolution and target framerate. If the GPU has the power you can also push higher resolutions with little to no impact on the CPU side.
And if you limit your framerate to 60 you'll leave a lot of headroom to tweak the power comsumption of the graphics card. A 5090 can be a very efficient card running games. Better than low end cards like the 3050.

Lurkers are fine, although I wish you guys would contribute more. And I'd like the GPUs to go to the known posters who are poor as dirt (if I don't win, that is). Poor homies, you know who you are.

The apparent alts coming out of the woodwork can eat bans right before OP contacts them for their shipping info though.

I used to post a lot before the purple people banned my old account because they had no sense of humor. I was going to try to recover my old account and message a mod after they all left, but I lost access to my old email since it was from a cable company when I lived with my parents like 9 years ago. If the rules had said you had to contribute more, I wouldn't have entered the giveaway, but you'll forgive me for being skittish about posting when bans used to go out for the most milquetoast of opinions about female game characters.

I don't want to lose my dark mode. That's literally the killer feature of being a member here.
