Poor way of trying to change the subject buddy, but that wasn't my question. In fact, I wasn't the one who brought pre-order position into the equation. I was talking about sales, champ
did I discredit it? the PR situation of this game is just atrocious.
1.Mid, boring. DLC-esque vibes: Been there done that kind of game
2.Female protagonist / revenge story
3. dev mocking the assesination/boycott- deslike ration and comments under the official videos and posts.
you are saying that the sale are not going to be affected OUTSIDE U.S. so, you are saying sales ARE going to be affected in the US.... which is the most important/bigger market.
What I'm pointing out is that, given other markets are smaller than the US, the cumulative international sales are more likely to be higher, but in general this game will comercially underperform.
I'm not changing the subject. Right after I listed the pre-order sales charts, you asked me, "How many pre-orders those positions mean?"
You want to know the sales of Ghost of Yotei based on pre-order charts, but sales numbers are irrelevant when looking at YouTube dislikes and comments.
NPD, Circana, Famitsu, UK, and Europe sales charts have been posted here for more than 10 years. We often determine how well a game is doing based on the position of the sales chart more than actual numbers.
YouTube dislikes don't tell us anything. PlayStation Portal and PlayStation 5 Pro videos were heavily disliked, but both devices were successful. Assassin's Creed Shadows received more backlash than Dragon Age, but Assassin's Creed performed better.
you are saying that the sale are not going to be affected OUTSIDE U.S. so, you are saying sales ARE going to be affected in the US.... which is the most important/bigger market.
I'm not sure if you realized this, but ANYTHING can affect sales.
People think Spider-Man 2 is too woke.
Reee refused to buy Hogwarts Legacy
Cyberpunk 2077's sales were affected because they launched an unfinished game.
PC sales are affected due to bad ports.
Just because something can discourage a certain group of gamers from buying the game, it doesn't mean it will have a huge impact on overall sales.
Only a small portion of gamers are going around disliking videos. Most are probably from people who have no interest in the game at all.
That's why YouTube dislikes doesn't tell us a damn thing..
