The fact that he thinks the stereotypical action hero (in a japanese movie, a hollywood movie, or any other for that matter) has been created in his image is pretty disgusting to me.
He lacks all the qualities that makes those characters heroes, not even talking about his physical appearance.

Attacking a dude cause of what some random dude made up.
You act like a nameless goon so it makes sense you got strong opinions on heroes.

I recommend watching the video

I know, right! These devs are disgusting. Let's make a thread on it!
I relied on you guys to summarize the video. I don't particularly care for him (said E3 speech), so actually watching the video wasn't an option. :messenger_beaming:

I am still a wait and see on it like I said in another thread. I just finished GoT last year, and this really looks like more of the same. I had to force myself through that game. The gameplay loop was very boring. Story wise, I enjoyed the side missions though and a majority of the main campaign. Oh, did anyone ask if you can bypass speech? I can read way faster than they present it.

Well here it is guys, the smoking gun. Question 97:
Its stupid.

I will be there, day 1 and i have no problem playing a woman.
But the reason is stupid.

I would respect an answer in the spirit of "this is the story we wanted to tell, this is how we imagined the protagonist".

The angle of deeper meaning and representation is stupid or sly (pun intended) to get social media points.

Did they asked him if the supernatural stories where you get special equip are back?

They were easily the best part of the first game.

Agreed! They didn't ask, but I hope that didn't get replaced with the bounty system, which would also involve some level of tracking. Would be a shame if it did, as I loved those paintings and having to figure out where they were. He did refuse to answer when asked if Jin would be a 'legend' in the the game. So there's still some hope. But they confirmed no one refers to him by name and Atsu knows nothing about Jin.

cormack12 cormack12 summarized it quite nicely and it seems to be in the OP now. The only new thing that came out for me is her butt being confirmed. Lol. And it looks like when enemies see you losing your weapon in a fight, they will prevent you from getting to it, so you will need to improvise. The weapon disarm move is pretty HEAVILY telegraphed, so it remains to be seen how often that can actually happen on higher difficulties.

They didn't ask about skipping dialog. I don't believe the first game had anything like that as their cutscenes don't play out like in RPGs.

They are a bunch of morons if they left off the legends but i'm sure they didn't.

Well here it is guys, the smoking gun. Question 97:

Tell me about the choice to feature a female protagonist in a genre traditionally centered around male characters. Was this a narrative decision, a marketing strategy, or something else entirely?

We felt like it was time. It's our responsibility to avoid repeating the same tired stories. Historically, female samurai existed, but you never see that represented in video games. It's always about a man with a sword. Especially as a white man, I feel I've been centered in these narratives for so long that I have to step aside and give the spotlight to someone else.

I know it's probably not enough, but it's a start. We're just trying to do our part, to atone for all the past games made by people like me. I just hope the fans appreciate it.

This can't be real. I refuse to believe.

edit: glad is not real

Always funny to see the cycle of gaf debunking something and then just a few posts later people back to believing it because no one actually reads the threads lol

THIS is the real smoking gun to me though

"A very big number of playable flashbacks, no weapon use during these flashbacks as a child"

Godfuuucking dammit

Wait, what were you planning to do with a flaming kusarigama as a a child?

Or did you mean the number of flashbacks? Pretty sure most of them would be optional in the form of an instant switch on button press. It's why they created that mechanic, after all. Would be pointless to do instant flashbacks if there aren't a sizeable number of them.
