Is 34 too old to learn how to skateboard.

Never too late but but your body is going to hate you for starting so late.

I couldn't help myself the other day and went out anyway and got drenched.

When I got home I noticed that one of the wheels wasn't spinning like.the others so I need to get this to a doctor.

Mid 30's is when just stretching wrong can wreck your day.
I wonder what people do with their bodies, I'm in my mid 30s and feel pretty much the same as I did in my 20s. I think many eventually become so overwhelmed with work and family life that they don't have time to exercise and eat right. So while aging of course affects the body, no doubt about it, it doesn't need be as catastrophic if you take care of it.

I tried getting back into skating in my 30s and in my 40s both times ended in months of pain after. When you're a kid / teen you have no responsibility if you break a leg or an arm, but when you're an adult and need to earn money, no need to put that at risk.

Maybe if you do good stretching regularly you might be ok, but even kids break bones, no escaping that.

Now I just watch skating YouTube videos. Enough for me.

My uncle got back in to skateboarding in his thirties, got a gnarly leg injury, thought it was cool and then after he healed he got right back on his board lol

I really ddn't want to wear Nike's but I can't deny how good SB Blazers feel. I'm bending my legs more which ia a good thing. Nothing hurts.
Yes! Bending the legs makes a big difference. I have Vans but they're new and still have a lot of grip which makes shifting the feet a bit tricky.

I got a longboard when I was older than that, and then a surf skate, which is way too much fun. Haven't bought a traditional yet for trying tricks but likely will do soon.

I would say it is never to late to do something, in particular any sort of sport or exercise passion. As the saying goes: "no matter how slow you run you are still lapping everyone on the couch".

Plus starting something when you are older is a logical progression of not giving a fuck about what other people think of you - you need to reach certain age to hold this view.

There was a pig in the city stopping commuters who did not have a light on their bike.

Fair enough. It's dark as my dick in the morning here.

I felt completely exempt though. I don't think they know that these boards can keep up with e-bikes on
the road.

I'm not sure I understand the full amount of your story, but I still give you a High Five :messenger_blowing_kiss:!

I tightend the kingpins on my board and it makes a big difference. Makes curving much easier.

Man. I'm glad this got bumped.

You know what's embarrassing? People that judge others by calling it embarrassing. Project how you're afraid to fail on to others lol.

OP- have you picked it up? I'm proud of you!

I feel nude without my board and being a pedestrian is a shockingly bad experience.

Also, having a deck in your hand doubles as a Dead Rising weapon because there are a lot of smartphone Zombies in the big city.

One day I want to get there too. I always wanted to be like Bart Simpson or any other suburbian kid on American TV. Just going everywhere with my board. I'll get there.

You gain a new layer of confidence once you learn how to control and adjust your speed on the (mc)fly.

Rest asured, you will be terrorizing crowds in no time. Which is obviously the point.

Sure, terrorizing people should always be the goal for anything but for me it's more like therapy.
Even though I keep falling and hurting, I don't quit which is a more positive outlet of selfharming than drinking or smoking I guess.

A guy who once broke my heart and who had a really shitty childhood, told me that the pain from falling actually helped him with the pain life gave him. It's like that.

But yes, basically I just want to be like Bart Simpson and terrorize crowds 😁

People like this churn out victim card shit like campfire stories to women.

He's probably plastered in tattoos by now.

Have you tried wearing different shoes?
