Game awards GOTY nominees will be stacked

28 vs 141

Yeah. Will sure impact. Again, those GOTY votes came from around the world, so he will get less votes from countries that end up not reviewing the game.

I'm not saying they don't deserve it, just how TGAS operates.
At the end of the day Clair 33 has this in the bag.

Everyone else is just playing for second place right now.

Lock for noms: CO33, Silksong, Donkey Kong. So 3 slots for the rest. My guess: DS2, Split Fiction, and Sony will bribe Geoff to get Yotei in there to keep their stupid streak alive.

CO33 will win.

My personal top 5 are like

Clair Obscure
Doom TDA
Atomfall
Avowed
Helldivers 2

How TGA will look like:

Silksong (almost a lock)
Clair Obscure (almost a lock)
Death Stranding 2 (almost a lock)
Split Fiction (almost a lock)
DK Bananza
NG4 / GOY ….. etc

Amazing year. My favourites:

  1. Silksong
  2. Bananza
  3. Expedition 33
Expecting Yotei, Silent Hill, Prime 4, Pokemon, and Hades 2 to be great as well.

It's going to be:

Death Stranding 2
Expedition 33
Silksong
DKB
Split/Fiction

Last spot: KCD2/Hades 2/Ghost of YĹŤtei, one of these I think (Silent Hill might be a darkhorse if it really delivers), legendary year.

So why do folks think it's E33? Without spoiling the story, what makes it so great? Is the combat really that fun? Did you really care for the characters? 14 hour in and felt none of that. Feel like I'm taking crazy pills. Game average at best. Total try-hard of games. Good for the team and their passion they put into it, but the pedestal it's being placed on is not earned. Folks were thirsty for an RPG when so many other, better ones released this year. Thanks for reading, my salt will be here all week.

Expedition 33 and Silksong are gonna clean house. The biggest winners are us because somehow these games are budget titles and together cost the same as any one other AAA release from this year.

It's been one of the weaker years in gaming for me and I'd rather vote for nothing rather than something winning by default.

KCD2 would have probably been my pick but the game jumped the shark the second half with all the dam dialogue once you reach Kuttenberg. You are spending more time listening npc speak than doing any actual gameplay.

Really? I thought this year was exceptionally good….so many great games came out.

Nothing really stands out for me and the great games I did play were rereleases. I'd probably give my vote to Tetris The Grand Master -Absolute Eye- or Tokyo Extreme Racer but those games didn't blow me away either. I'm still early into Silk Song and maybe the new Katamari, Silent Hill, Kirby Air Ride or Ninja Gaiden will surprise me.

Zero chance a Nintendo game that isn't Zelda wins GOTY. So much for the fabled "Nintendo tax".

Silksong could have taken it if it wasn't a sequel. But it is, and as a difficult game without a difficulty slider, it has no chance when there's another indie in town that has won over the hearts of so many AND it has an easy mode.

Only Kojima could beat Clair Obscur, but I honestly can't see it making it this time.

Blue prince for me.
I hope they make blue prince on Switch 1&2,

I had a great time playing it with my brother while visiting him on holiday. We took turns run by run.
I never got to the end.
Would be great to revisit it.

My game of the year was the games we played along the way.
You know we really are the game of us.

Probably something From my backlog. So while not technically from this year as a release, it would still be my GoTY for me.

What would be? Come on man don't leave me hanging like this.

So far, for me, DK Bananza holds the spot by quite a big margin.

Hades 2 or Metroid Prime 4 are the only entries left this year that I could see sway me. But I think it's very unlikely they'll beat out DK.

Great year for games!

I think its primarily art style.

Devs didn't held back in letting their imagination run wild.

Other aspects are competent.

I don't know. I need to think.
So
Maybe for the amount of fun I've had in co-op on two switches.
Sniper Elite 4 or Zombie Army 4 with my son has been a blast. (He turned 18 this year. Now he can learn to love zombie killing games lol) or resi rev2 raid mode.

Single player.
Legend of Zelda Echoes of wisdom

Or the Bluey game because my daughter loves it.
Or bowsers fury or Mario party jamboree

And it's not over yet! We still have:
  • Ninja Gaiden 4
  • Hades II
  • Battlefield 6
  • Metroid Prime 4
  • Kirby Air Riders
  • Digimon Story: Time Stranger
  • Mina the Hollower
  • Once Upon a Katamari
  • Hyrule Warriors: AOI
  • Anno 117: Pax Romania
  • Hotel Barcelona
  • Arc Raiders
  • FF Tactics Remaster
I'm sorry, but this year is packed, imho.

Opinions and all that but you're crazy. The characters, the story, the art, the music, the world, the voice acting, are better than any RPG that released this year and it's not close. The pedestal is so deserved that if doesn't win at TGA it will be the biggest snuff since their inception.

What do you even play to say something like this? This year has been absolutely stacked.

Clair will win.

My nominee guesses at the Joystick GOTY awards are:

Expedition 33
Silksong
Kingdom Come Deliverance
Donkey Kong Bananza
Split Fiction
Blue Prince
Borderlands 4

As the nominees so far. I am wondering about Ninja Gaiden 4 though. We shall see.

There is no generational game this year(Elden Ring, Cyber Punk, Baldurs Gate), but the variety of a great AA/AAA games across all genres has been phenomenal. One of the best years in gaming the past decade

5. Death Stranding
6. Ghost of Yotei (unfortunately)

Will be snubbed:
1. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
2. Blue Prince
3. Split Fiction
4. Abiotic Factor
5. The Alters
6. Cronos
7. Hell is Us
8. Doom DA

12. Ninja Gaiden 4

These are the top 24 games by MC

Why in the world do people here think Hades 2 is not getting a nomination? Based on what I've heard, its as much of a lock as Silksong is.

These will be the nominees:

1. EX33
2. Donkey Kong
3. Hollow Knight Silksong
4. Hades 2
5. Split Fiction
6. Could be Death Stranding 2 but I hope for something else such as Silent Hill F

This year is stacked, quadruple times better than 2024. A good dose of wrpgs, AAA delivering, AA space becoming the true goats and heavyweight indies. Lots of games gonna get snubbed.

1) Expedition 33 - The darling of the industry. Potential repeat of Bg3.

2) Silksong - Not since Fromsoft with Elden Ring has a dev go all out on a souls game. It is almost too good. However, here is where the difficulty will actually hinder its chances.

3) Death Stranding 2 - Kojima actually brought it. The gameplay, story and graphics is a tour de force of what a AAA industry can produce helmed by an essentric auteur.

4) Donkey Kong Bananza - Havent played it yet but Ninty always reserve a spot here.

5) Toss between Hades 2, Ghost of Yotei or Metroid Prime 4 if either gets a 90 meta.

Game of the year for me is... Final Fantasy IX.

What a sublime game, in terms of characters, OST, story, and drama.

I loved it.

5) Toss between Hades 2, Ghost of Yotei or Metroid Prime 4 if either gets a 90 meta.
If we're talking only about The Game Awards, Metroid Prime 4 won't be nominated as cutoff date for nominations is usually for games which release date is max to late October / early November. It's a same deal as with Indy last year. Prime 4 will definitely lose some of nominations cause of its release date

Damn what a terrible list of games...it's getting harder to pretend and try to be "nuanced" about it.

A game like Death Stranding 2 really deserves to rot into the abyss of gaming.

I hope Ninja Gaiden 4 will be good and that i have 3 games to save for this year.
