DualSense revision could have removable batteries, use less electricity

Would be cool if this turns out to be true, as it's pretty much my only gripe with existing DualSense controllers.

Polish site is saying that the new PS5 DualSense revision, called DualSense v3 behind the scenes, will have a removable battery and consume a whopping 3% less electricity.

Wouldn't help existing owners, especially those of us with DualSense Edge that have an even smaller battery, but still, it's a good move imo.

(first saw this on Push Square, and I searched but didn't see a topic on it yet)

It is a new PS5 Pro version that is supposed to consume less electricity and not the pad, based on the article. PPE is known for posting any shit they hear so take it with a grain of salt.

Everyone wants better battery life with game controllers, luckily with Xbox you can swap out AA batteries.

Hall sticks is the major change Dualsense should be getting, but of course controllers would stop selling in such high numbers if that happened.

Still, removable batteries is a good idea. I like to have options and sometimes it's nice to play several long sessions without recharging like on the Xbox.

I'd rather have a four battery life than have to stick AA batteries into my controller like I'm back in 1992 playing on my Game Gear.

Buy the time you buy decent rechargeable AA's and a charger, you're adding another £20 on to the controller price itself.

I doubt that it will have AA batteries as there is just not place for them
It'll be removable accum as per EU regulation with same capacitity for easy replacement/utilization

Sorry but this is fucking ignorant. It is a design choice that gives the user options. What do you do when your PS5 controller is out of juice and you want to play 2 player, hook up a short USB cable and play on the floor like its 1985?

Removable battery packs that actually provide more than 8 hours of playtime is an option I would choose over the PS5. I have kids and it is hard to get them to remember to put the controller on the charger. It is a superior engineering solution because you can buy a charging kit if you are so narrow minded and fanboy biased that you can't see that there is an obvious advantage.

My PS5 controllers are hooked up to my PS5. The system then sleeps for months. The controllers often have less than full charge when a game finally comes out that I want to play and it kind of sucks.

Wow.....it's been a while since I've seen someone get this triggered over someone else's preferred controller battery design.

Happy Well Done GIF

Christ. It's a view on not wanting removable fucking batteries. What's with the cringe bullshit. No need for it.
