Anyone experience Dialogue audio dropping out when using LPCM on your ps5?

I experience this pretty often with my old soundbar (Sony Z9F) and I recently upgraded to the Samsung Q990F 2 weeks ago and I'm still experiencing the same thing.

I don't have this problem when setting audio to Dolby Audio but I've heard that LPCM is the best as it's uncompressed.

Do any of you also experience Dialogue audio dropping when setting your sound output on your ps5 to LPCM?

I use LPCM as a set and forget setting but it looks like I gotta use Dolby Audio instead due to how frequently dialogue audio drops when u use lpcm.

Both my ps5 and soundbar are connected directly to my LG G5. (yes EARC is enabled)

Should I set my ps5 sound settings to Dolby Audio or Dolby Atmos with my Samsung Q990F soundbar?

I used to have all audio dropping out when using eARC. I ended up needing to get a switch to bypass the TV. So all of the devices are directly connected to the soundbar. I don't use eARC in on my soundbar, but you might be able to. If you can't the only thing you lose is the ability for the TV remove to control the soundbar via HDMI CEC for volume control.

Something like this.

Are you using the same hdmi cable as before to your soundbar?

The new Q990F soundbar was setup by the guys from the electronic shop I bought it from so it's probably new HDMI cables that came with the soundbar.

The soundbar sounds freaking awesome btw lol. Going from a 3.1 setup to a 11.4.1 is a big upgrade. :messenger_smiling_hearts::messenger_smiling_hearts::messenger_smiling_hearts:

Sometimes when I use Dolby Atmos I need to switch to PCM and than back to Dolby Atmos because there is some lag in the sound.

Nope, it goes through my receiver though.

You have 11 speakers and one is a soundbar?

Yeah I've heard of this issue before.

Is the audio lag very noticeable? And which option do u use most of time?

I would try switching out the hdmi cable if it keeps being an issue. those guys could have put th esame cable back and it might not be a good enough cable.

and yeah I switched out a big cable filled surround sound system a year or two ago for a Bose soundbar with wireless bass and surround speakers. It's so nice and only 1 cable.

Dolby, especially Atmos should be better than LPCM in a lot of ways, so in addition to the other suggestions you got, I'd suggest switching to that.

We got my newly-wed brother-in-law the same soundbar, truly fantastic stuff.

Yeah that soundbar is freaking amazing!!

Just switched over from LPCM to Dolby Atmos and the sound quality improvement in Ghost Of Yotei is amazing! Can't wait to play battlefield 6 on it next week!

It's truly a fantastic gift for your brother in law. He must love it very much! Wishing him a very happy marriage full of love and cute little kids!
