SH2 remake released on the 8th of October last year with a 1 year console exclusive period per the pre-release marketing.

We're about to reach the end of that exclusivity period.

Make it Play Anywhere and I'm in. Not usually into remakes but SH f was great so I'd like to keep supporting Konami on these.

While the coding is a bit different (it had extra class today "website-component-block" which is used in a few other elements), it's doing the exact same thing (positioning for the Steam/PS images).

which then begs the question... Will they add a Lumen-off setting to PC? that could make the game finally look good and run well.
 
I have psychic powers, I had posted that it would be great to bring Silent Hill 2 to Switch 2....

Only the bad thing will be those Keycards that will be put in.

Or UE5 can get an updated to support the RT cores of the Switch 2.
 
Cronos fared well cause the game is 90% dark as shit.

Granted SH2 is also obscured by fog 90% of the time but I gotta imagine it's gonna be a bit more taxing.

PC Cronos can be emulated on cellphones at playable speeds. SH 2 craws.
 
hardware lumen runs even worse tho. there's a reason the vast majority of UE5 games use software lumen on console... even on PS5 Pro.
Nvidia vs AMD RT cores. Also i think the game is designed around RT, a baked solution could make the file size massive and a lot of work for just one platform, but whatever solution they take going to be interesting thats for sure.

they did make a baked GI fallback for their new game tho, possibly for the exact reason that they were making a Switch 2 version.

This is a good thing because if that happens it means Bloober gets additional development funds to hopefully add the long needed ps5 pro patch.

The game already did and still does support PS5 Pro enhancements. Not sure why folks keep asking for the patch.

It launched with PSSR support, they've only taken it out of the Performance mode. Quality mode still has PSSR on it.

It's different experience for me. SH2 Remake is very playable at maximum settings in 4K DLSS Q (only shadows on medium) with almost always constant 60fps.
But if you set anything higher than 1440p in Cronos (max settings), the maximum you will get is around 40-50fps. RTX 5070ti.
 
Great game with some changes I could do without (this version has a LOT of enemies).

But I can't imagine F is better than this, from what I've seen.
 
A great remake. Top quality. A bit too long, but overall I had a really good experience with it. Won't quite be the same without a microphone on the controller, though.
