The Touryst: Deluxe announced for Switch 2

Shin'en Multimeda, refusing to rest after the launch of Fast Fusion on the Switch 2, has announced The Touryst: Deluxe.

Launching exclusively on the Switch 2, The Touryst: Deluxe will come with brand-new content, including a new island and monument to explore, new items and quests, plus improved visuals in both handheld and docked mode.

We already noted how the original Switch version had incredible visuals with flawless performance on the ageing console, so to see that Shin'en has improved this even further is simply incredible. We awarded the game a score of 9/10 and said that it's got "a perfect balance of atmospheric puzzling, leisurely exploring and minigame madness that'll keep you thoroughly entertained from start to finish".

There's no release date at the time of writing, but Shin'en assures us that we won't be waiting long to hear more news, so stay tuned. For now, let's check out a couple of new screenshots from The Touryst: Deluxe.

Great little game, these guys are hardware wizards so I'm sure it'll be 4K/ 120fps. Nice to see some new content too.

it's a great little action adventure.
not sure tho if I'd play it again unless the additional content is sizeable enough to make it worth it.

8k on Switch 2 too?

probably 1440p.
the One X is 4k 60fps in this title, so cut that in half to get the best case scenario for Switch 2.
unless the One X GPU was underutilized of course, which is possible, and which would mean the Switch 2 could come closer to 4k.

edit: PS4 Pro is apparently a dynamic ~1500p that can drop to 1440p.
so, given that, and given other multiplat games, for Switch 2 I'd expect a dynamic 1440p that can drop to 1080p.

of a lot of games yeah, for example this one felt very empty, didn't have the impression i had played anything really

you're hopefully not one of those people that are the reason modern games have constant objective markers and NPCs telling you exactly which buttons to press next, are you?

i don't think i am, what gives you that impression ?

well, it's weird playing an action adventure and describing it with "I didn't understand the point".
the point of an action adventure is exploration and puzzles solving, and that's what this game is about.

and your comment gave me the impression that you ran around the starting island, not knowing what to do or where to go.

That's my personal opinion but i feel the words "puzzle" or "exploration" are thrown around a lot in the video game space when 95% of the time it doesn't amount to much in a concrete way, design wise. It's more or less true depending on the game but i think this game is a pretty good example of that, there is not a lot of meat in there to say the least.

Not to disturb the topic i'm just giving my opinion on the game for those who haven't played it yet.

I had fun with it. Was on GP years back. Really nice bold colours at a smooth frame rate.

Those underground levels were a pain sometimes and very different than the overworld. Like two totally different games.

Pretty much maxed out the entire game except I couldn't get high score in the f zero game. Seemed impossible.

Wouldn't they DLSS it to make it 4K?
