Being an Xbox fan in 2025

If you are a Xbox fan in 2025 you are the problem. If you liked Xbox from OG Xbox and early 360 era and if you loved old Bungie Halo games, you will never like the current Xbox.

Funny. I like the shelf in the background nice touch. The appeal to their wealth is silly though, because it is business not charity.

Being a Bungie fan actually feels like the video, now that you mention it. 20s gaming is so ass...

I still have hope that someone (maybe even Sony) buys Halo from Microsoft, makes a new studio with Joseph Staten, Marty, other old school Halo devs and devs who are fan of Halo and starts where Bungie left.

I am fortunate enough to own all the consoles but have always enjoyed the Xbox ecosystem, controllers, backwards compatibility, and several other features.

I have PS5 and a decent PC both of which I use lots, but have always favored Xbox. But like the video says it's getting harder as time goes on.

I personally jumped off after the February direct about them putting games on PlayStation. Fuck Phil Spencer.

Owned every Xbox they made and absolutely loved every single one of them.

Usually the less mainstream something is, the cooler the audience is. If you're an Xbox fan in 2025, that means you are required to think for yourself, ignore peer pressure and conformity campaigns, ignore constant trolling, ignore the Keighley's and most game journalists, and pick what you like based on your own opinion. Most Xbox threads are filled with some of the coolest people here, with thoughtful opinions. Similar phenomenon with SEGA fans.

I would still be an Xbox fan if I had assurances regarding future platforms and honoring my library. I don't feel confident with that anymore and I stopped feeling confident the moment they went third party.

Old devs are like old bands: usually had left their creative days behind. Besides Marty got in a fight with everybody else because he's a conservative. So no reunion tour. What the industry needs is give resources to new talent like it was made in the 90s. What companies don't understand is that what made games like FF, MGS or Halo great weren't their creator's names but the fact that they were young and willing to explore ideas.

I see online a lot of people saying the next gen will be like the X360 era where Microsoft will launch one year before PS6 and a lot of gamers will jump in again. Im like who in their right mind would trust Microsoft after this generation?

It's been a fun couple of years, from the ABK purchase with Xbox fans euphoric to the total debacle it's in now and people abandoning the brand, a lot has happened.

I love the end where he yells "Woohoo Xbox!" Then is giving him the middle finger as he is closing the door. That feels very Xbox at the moment.

there is a word for this, it is cope.

Even Phil has said that this is much more difficult than it was in the 00s because of digital libraries. If I jumped into Xbox I would lose all my PS5 games. I'm not doing it. Nobody is doing it.

  • They don't own the IP
  • Its not exclusive to their platform
  • Not even console exclusive
  • Will probably look better on PS5
Please tell me how this would be the reason for anyone to invest on an Xbox?
Invest wherever you want.

Those are games I would definitely play. Wouldn't say they are not making games.

Personally, I would invest in xbox platform if I like their first party games. Exclusivity is not required.

Well I was already stacked up on GP through 2028. So I can play Keeper, Ninja Gaiden 4, and Outer Worlds 2, plus all the other stuff this month for a tiny fraction of the cost. Then when I decide to buy NG4, I'll get an Xbox copy and a PC copy.

This is all really common sense stuff. You're just being an ass. No one cares if you want to play it on Playstation. Go for it.

Let it go man. No one at Xbox cares about you.

The lengths Punished Miku is going to cope are genuinely astounding.

Xbox is now supposedly the "underground" choice, and being a fan is some kind of rebellion against the "normie tide." We've reached a point where it's impossible to tell whether this is self-parody or delusion.

Having an opinion/being a fan of something is A-OK, spouting such self-absorbed nonsense is not though, this is the same person that'd accuse others of being fanboys.

Again, zero self awareness

As for MS/Xbox... everything so far has been a self inflicted wound, nothing more, nothing less and they only have themselves to blame 'cause it's sure as hell not the haters'® fault.

Great comeback.

Vastly cheaper with GP stacked, multiple games I'm interested in playing, dual entitlement. You have ... dumb insult. No one at any company cares about you. What a totally pointless thing to say. You've got nothing.

These people just need to migrate to another platform.

Luckily, I didn't invest much in the Xbox ecosystem. It was quite easy to migrate, since after GamePass expired, I had almost nothing in my account and only had to sell the console. Unlike the PS5, which I also sold, but I had to sell physical games individually, which took much longer.

A console is only worth it if you don't want to play on PC (which you should, as it's a superior experience overall) or if it has a significant number of exclusives, something that both Microsoft and Sony can't deliver, unlike Nintendo.

Why would you play those games? Ninja Gaiden 4 I can understand but I see no point in buying essentially the worst version in Xbox. But the others? Do you play your games based on if they are released by a corporation you shill?

Sunset Overdrive was the last time I enjoyed a game they made. And I waited a decade through all those promises for them to make something good.
Exclusivity is not required.
Exclusivity has been the sole reason to buy a console.

Believe or not, I actually don't give too much hate on Xbox One launch
I always thought Kinect is kinda futuristic, as for privacy?
Uncle Tim Apple has using same technology as kinect every fucking time when you trying to unlock your phone
