I can't get mad at this list. It's actually a pretty decent lineup. I was shocked to see TMNT3 and Life Force on there (not that they're bad, you just never see them on any sort of best of list).

Good to see MM2 getting the praise it deserves.

14. StarTropics

17.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III - The Manhattan Project
12. Duck Hunt
11. Life Force

Mostly ok list. Super Dodge Ball is a nice pull.

I'd personally remove a few of them to put in better games.

Final Fantasy
Double Dragon
Battletoads
Captain Skyhawk

What's the deal with overrating it in recent years? It's like since 2007 everyone has pretended to always love that game for internet cred.
I've been wondering the same. Maybe its return via the Wii's VC has something to do with that.
I was expecting the game to be great when I finally sat down to play it. Boy, what a disappointment. It looks meh. It sounds meh. And it plays like absolute shit. I gave up in what I believe was the final level, the spaceship. I've played bullet hell games with less bullshit.

All I wanted was a different take on Zelda with a yo-yo and a baseball bat

Christ that jumping mechanic was utter shit

No Crystalis?
No Shadowgate?
No DuckTales?
No Final Fantasy?
No Willow?

List is obviously factually incorrect

When clicking on this topic did anyone expect anything other than a safe popularist list?
You paint yourself into a corner with these "best" lists. Everyone knows the "best" NES games, it's just a difference of how you order them, but you have to include them. Leaves little room for interesting picks.

Like, I personally liked Marble Madness and Kickle Cubicle more than Zelda but you can't exclude fucking Zelda lol

Swap F-Zero for DW3 and move some things around. Shockingly decent list actually. Top 10 is right there. The only real shit stain is the complete lack of F-Zero (!)

I'm surprised they didn't put in more controversial picks just to stir things up and drive "engagement". It looks like a safe list written by someone who grew up playing these games.

F-Zero is a SNES game…

Some favs not on the list. RS not really sports fans. Ice Hockey, Blades of Steel, Cobra Triangle, Bases Loaded 1, Zelda II, T&F II.

Good to see SM2 not make it. What a crap game.

Yeah, where's my Panic Restaurant, Stanley & The Search For Dr. Livingston and Adventure Island 3?

come on chunk GIF
Id say most people never touched panic restaurant, taitos late releases are all pretty obscure, bubble bobble 2, power blade 2, little Sampson, and kick master are all excellent games but relatively obscure because of the late releases
Gargoyles quest 2 and mighty final fight are in a similar boat from capcom
Gi Joe from Taxan is another great game that gets less attention then it deserves
Frankly the list is very much a casual nes list, which is fine, that's how most people understand the nes,
