Oh Atari? You mean that Console manufacturer , who's now owned by music legend, SouljaBoy?

Congrats Soulja! Don't let these haters bring you down again! Can't wait for the SouljaGame™ 2©!

No but that is another thing that's going on. A new Commodore 64 is being made.
And it's looking fucking epic so far. FPGA, but that's to be assumed these days (I doubt the original chips could be sourced now). Haven't ordered one yet, but I'm so tempted.

The publishing slate for the next 6 months? They have been pumping them over this year and have been making some purchases (IP and studios) throughout the industry.
Hyper focused on indie prosperities and revamping their old catalogue. So...Digital Devolver with a 50 year old catalogue of ip (not sure how many of those they actually own though).

$300 for it is kinda steep but since it's compatible with OG C64 accessories and carts I'm seriously considering picking one up. They can keep the LED disco monstrosity versions.

I just found out they were doing the announcement for the Sprint today and I'm immediately disappointed. I don't know what I was expecting lol.

I like companies remaking their classic consoles. Here for it! It was a tad before my time, NES was my gen. But I will look into it.

Also want the Atari Gamestation Go that is a handheld with D Pad, spinner, track ball and number pad all in one. Looks sick

Atari should now also make a Colecovision Mini, because why the fuck not.
I mean, they just as well might. Atari, in it's current incarnation, is just brand name that keeps getting sold around, that has no connection to the original company.

I grew up during that time.

Intellivision games sucked then.....and are even worse now.

Many Atari 2600 games still hold up for the fun factor (some had good graphics too). Intellivision games controlled badly, looked bad and most were not fun.

Why? Just why?

Was surprised to see a 190 dollar Atari Handheld in BJ's today. 200 games on it.
Saw this in a BJ's yesterday and for some reason, I felt compelled to get it, but quickly moved on to avoid temptation. 200 games for $190. It seems well designed and has every control scheme for Atari you could possibly need. From what I understand the controls you need for a specific game will light individually. That is kinda cool.

man, the memories unlocked.

they had this snake tron lightcycle game that was one of my earliest gaming memories.. fun stuff

It's pricey but DAMN it looks amazing! and it's compatible with all BT pads and sticks you can buy, TV hookup and the works.

We were an Atari family but I had a neighborhood friend that had an intellivision. I remember saving up to buy my own intellivision. The birth of my FOMO when it comes to video games. :messenger_grinning_squinting:
