What game are you currently playing?

I'm not gonna spoil but when people said the game feels like RE4 but in first person, people weren't kidding.
RE7 didn't feel like RE4 in first person at all to me. It felt like a totally different game. Like some kind of haunted mansion movie that kind of sucks.

RE7 felt like Capcom's respond to P.T. when it exploded in popularity, RE8 absolutely felt like RE4, especially trying survive to Village attack in beginning of the game.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

As it has a trial on PS Plus Premium, I tried it and basically absolutely gorgeous visuals, you feel like you're playing a real Indiana Jones movie, I can't imagine how the game will look like on Switch 2. And the story is very promissîg from the first two hours.

But the gameplay sucks a bit. The constant switch between 1st person and 3rd person doesn't make any sense, it's very clunky. And the combat is terrible, with breakable items. Like how fast can a wooden stick break ?

And the voice acting is good at some times, off at others.

imo the atmosphere of kid icarus gives metroid a run for it's money. Somehow felt like a nightmare land to me.

I don't think this is supposed to be especially spooky but for some reason that's how I think about it. The black background doesn't help. I'm pretty sure of that.

I know exactly what you mean. For me it was more just being on edge the entire time because you had so little health and could easily fuck yourself.

Battlefield 6 Loser's Club drama

I just played a match of Domination. The match before it was bad, but this was worse.

My team:

P1 was 23 -3 with 5 assists and 4 captures
P2 33 - 12
P3 22 - 8
P4 14 - 8
P5 18 - 11
P6 15 - 2
P7 6 - 4
I was 0 - 6 with 2 assists and 1 capture.

I have been trending this way since I bought the game. I am actually getting worse as time goes on. I unlocked two new guns (fucking FINALLY) and felt GREAT with them in the FIRING RANGE OF COURSE. But how can I test them out in the actual game when I'm getting shot from behind every time I die?

At one point I spawned, ran 18 inches and got shot in the back, then got revived, ran two feet and got shot by three people from behind, got revived, got shot before I was even standing again, and then I put down the controller and left to get some coffee.

A few of my coworkers got the game, some of them are pretty good at games and FPS, and they're saying it's hard too. I might have to take this back and take the loss, and then suffer through the next COD despite how crap it looks. #feelsbadman

I loved AC4 at the time, but I honestly don't remember a lot about it. I'd love to replay it. AC7's timed/point based ground missions kick my ass and remove all the joy I have for that game.

It's been a looooong time since I've replayed it too, but the standout memories I have are the anime style cutscenes, the titular mission Shattered Skies, and Megalith (the mission and the song). You should definitely play. The controls feel a little stiff coming from AC7 and there's a few stinker missions, but overall it holds up.

I'm currently playing Forza Horizon 5 on the PS5 Pro. I'm not a racing fan or car enthusiast by any means, but after having enjoyed Mario Kart World, Wipeout: Omega Collection, and FF7:Rebirth's Chocobo-Racing mini-game, I decided to pick up a true, fully-packaged, premium-quality, car racing game. I have to say, Forza Horizon 5 is exceptionally well-developed and graphically amazing, but the actual racing feels too simple and sterile (no power-ups, turbo-boosters, weapons, on-track boosters, etc.). You just hold down the accelerator (with the occasional braking), and tap left/right during turns. I don't know what more I was expecting, but I guess these pure racing simulators are not my cup-of-tea. Still, I'll go back to it once in a while to experience the gorgeous graphics and visual spectacle that this realistic car-racing simulator has to offer.

Just arrived at the legendary Mos Eisley in Star Wars Outlaws. Feels kinda surreal walking around here with this level of graphics. It looks amazing. And the attention to detail is also incredible. Lots of cool Easter eggs and references to the OG trilogy of movies. Definitely nails that good old Star Wars feeling.

I think I'm almost near end of RE8 and what an upgrade over RE7...RE8 has it flaws but my god its soooo much better than RE7.

RE8 made me hype for RE9 even more, if they can combine good points of RE7 and RE8 then RE9 is gonna be phenomenal.

The Gretlow Tapes - Finished - 7/10
Enjoyable first person horror set in Yorkshire, England. Would have been great to explore some of the lovely countryside, but you only get to travel a stretch of road before you're inside the creepy Gretlow house. Pretty standard stuff from this sort of horror - jump scares, lore dumps through notes and letters, camera that can reveal hidden stuff - nothing particularly new. Decent enough hour. I say an hour, that's what it's supposed to be, but I managed to double that playtime due to me getting lost in the basement for ages. I would fancy myself to survive a horror movie, but not if it had a bloody basement!

Final Fantasy: Tactics: Ivalice Chronicles
That Elmdore fella keeps kicking me around with his vampire nonsense. Only battle I've struggled with so far.

I was playing Sega Touring Car last night for science. Trying to give it some active appreciation and report back to that saturn thread that's been floating for a minute.

Game has crippling issues, especially compared to racers of the time.

Lemme tell you that saturn thread is straight up violent. You might want to get in on it if you want a nice place to lash out.

If you're in the mood for a decent indie horror game, give this a go.

Yep. Gamefly rental. So far.....not nearly as bad as folks made it out to be. By no means is it great, but I would describe it as a unintentionally stupid, but still fun game. It's like one of those bad movies that you just can't stop watching. lol
lol, how come you wanted to play this game in the first place? Thought you were gonna play tears of the kingdom. Gamefly ran out of copy in your Q? xD

Cuz of Chuck Berry Chuck Berry talking it up in the Redfall vs Mindseye thread. I'm still playing Totk though. This is a relatively short game. And I had an open slot with Gamefly after I finished GoY so I might as well give this a try. If it was complete shit then I could just send it back and tell Chuckie Poo how wrong he is, but so far.....it's alright.

Damn, my man Topher is definitely the most open minded guy on the site, even willing to try mindseye, that's some wisdom you can't gain till you are an old man.

I'm playing Aliens Descent. Now the gameplay is absolute dog shit but the game really captures the Aliens universe.

I'm glad that the videogames ignore the terrible prequels. They are better for it.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
Decided to give this a go despite the largely mixed reviews. Played a couple of hours so can't comment on the story too much, but the gameplay is decent. The setting, however, is absolutely incredible! I love it.

Installed Master Chief Collection. I owned the original Xbox back in the day and beat Halo 1 and 2, but never played any other games in the series. I beat the original Halo on my Steam Deck last year so I'll jump straight into Halo 2. Also tempted to buy Tormented Souls 2. Enjoyed the original and the sequel is a good price.

Castlevania - Rondo of Blood [PC Engine]
Playing on original hardware. 2D gaming at its absolute apex. The challenge of this one is severe - the devs held nothing back.
The bosses are masterclasses of cool. Love all the strange background secrets, details, and alternate passageways - Im still seemingly discovering new things all these years later.
Im pretty sure this is as good as gaming will ever get.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
Met a lot of side characters and done a lot of side content; I've delivered a package, tracked down a murderer, freed some people for Safia, and been hunting for some of those symbols located around the city. Having a blast so far.

I beat this in March for the second time and now I'm going through for a third time. Not touched much of the DLC, which is the reason I'm going back.

Done with RE8, it was great...honestly much better than I thought. the only part I didn't liked was Chris section which felt like Not Hero DLC from RE7.

Playing RE8 makes me way more excited for RE9.

Started Evil West yesterday and already beat it.

It's a Fun game with a great setting but it gets repetitive pretty fast and some fights feel unbalanced and frustating to deal with

Still a solid 7/10 and a nice throwback to those linear action games from the 6th/7th gen before "everything" went open world.

Now back to RE4

I have played enough sega touring car. It's a wreck but AM3 was going for something with distinct handling like all the sega racers did. Too bad it's so hard to enjoy that.

So today I put it down and put in another one. I have had it in before but definitely not more than to look at it for a few minutes. It's another racing game. Touge King by Cave. I sat down to properly play it and back to back with touring car, it's totally brilliant lol.

I've started Astral Chain a half dozen times or so and today I added one to that counter. I made it out of the tutorial for the first time and cleared the mission following that. I really don't like this game. All the characters look like they come out of a generic character creator for an anime inspired RPG. The combat really doesn't click with me either, but I've never enjoy trying to control two characters at once.

Silksong - Super frustrated at the whole thing. I love so much about it but also hate so much about it. Hollow Knight is among my all time favorites but I'm not really having a good time playing this one tbh. Makes me sad.
100h in, 7 / 10 so far.

Elden Ring - Went back to get the final 3 achievements. It's still at the absolute top of my list.

I like it a lot and tried to go back to it recently. The framrate being 30 really sucks but I can deal. Other than that, the dungeon levels I really don't like. They're the bland cubic landscape luminal spaces like a hundred other games. But here they seem to be the meat of the game. They are boring lookin and I get turned atound in them really easily. I run around quite a bit not knowing what block im supposed to shoot or what to grapple to move on and stuff like that and it wears on me quick. Wish it had real levels.

But that track that loops at the police station if fire.

Nine Sols is done. I 100%ed the game pretty much except for a few achievements that require a second playthrough, which I'm not doing. Next up is Blasphemous 1.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
Finished the quest with the twin sisters. I like playing as Fabien - it's a nice change of pace. Also, I've just unlocked the top ability of my tree, which lets me throw four dagger type things. Kills everything bar the bigger enemies.

Just beat the poison boss, ya know, the snake headed medusa type thingy. I think that stage/level is probably my least favourite. Anywho, I decided to go with a fire build this time around. When I played this earlier in the year, I was using an ice build, which melted pretty much everything that wasn't highly resistant to ice.
