The Outer Worlds 2 hits 13,264 all-time CCU peak on Steam

People aren't ignoring this is the early access version, it is mentioned plenty of times here.

Why are you ignoring the fact that the first game was only on Epic Game Store/Microsoft store at launch and didn't come to Steam until a year later?
Yes because we all know Steam users love the Epc and Microsoft stores dont we.

As for this game, even if the Outer Worlds was my favorite game of all time, i would never pay 100 bucks for a few days early acceess. I wouldnt do that for GTA 6 if that alsao had EA on PC.

I expect a significant bump at full release and maybe another at the first big sale price. This is a wait for sale game for me at least.
Yea seems decent for the 100 buy in imo.

Really? You don't think that OW1 being available on EGS for a year, and only launching on Steam a year later after the hype died down, affected its sales/peak CCU on Steam?

You are delusional if you honestly believe that. Don't accuse others of being selective with their facts and then come back with a hard copium like that.

Yes i do. Go on Steam forums sometimes and see what people say in the forums for Epic moneyhatted games.
There are plenty of games that were moneyhatted by Epic that i waited a year for them bought on Steam.
Hell there are games i got free on Epic that later i bought on Steam.

Sorry but thats the case for a lot of PC users.

And this is besides the point. It still seems stupid to me to judge a games numbers when it currently isnt even available, the standard version anyway. This is Outer Worlds not GTA 6 or Cyberpunk. I'm actually surprised it hit 9k in EA.

You do you though

Early access costs 100 euros and the game it's on gamepass. I don't think that Steam numbers will tell the whole story but I would personally wait for the 29th at least before jumping to conclusions

I didn't even realize this was in early access.. come on OP... Im not even buying this game, but at least give it until its actual release.

It says Advanced Access in the thread title. Mentioned it was $100 and compared it against Avowed's advanced access. Reeeeeead.

I know this is the $100 version, but $70 for the normal version is a bad price too.

I think if you look at most of the big hitters this gen, a lot of them are $60 or lower.

He was asking for games that launched on Game Pass day 1. I don't think that did unless I'm mistaken.
Yeah KC2 wasn't on GP.

The recent round of gameplay looked a lot better than expected and there's been a long drought of this kind of game on PC. I won't be surprised if this game does better than expected a few months ago.

Yeah 70 is too much (for most games imo). 50-60 would of been better for this as the first game was just a modest hit.

I still cant believe they charged 70 for Ninja Gaiden 4. A short PS4 looking and playing game imo.

"I personally have waited to buy a game when it launches on Steam, therefore timed EGS exclusivity doesn't impact Steam sales or CCU"

OK haha very funny, now I know you're trolling and you don't actually believe something that stupid.

If that were the case then we wouldn't see practically every publisher ditching EGS exclusivity and launching on Steam day 1. You'd be insane not to take EGS money if it's not going to hurt your Steam sales

I thought the gameplay looked better than the 1st too

You realize that supports what i;m saying right?. The only reason they would do that is because of all the lost Steam sales by taking Epics exclusive money.

By the way, i'm the one trolling?, lol.

I'm done.

The older RPGs are significantly more successful than the new ones, and Obsidian in particular seems to fail quite hard lately (perhaps aside from Grounded)

Not judging, but extrapolating. It is of course possible that come launch, OW2 will become huge megahit bestseller, but is it likely, based on the advanced access numbers?

Damn... those numbers are fucking bad.

?? You're the one who tried to tell us that timed EGS exclusivity didn't impact the Steam sales. Glad you're admitting you were wrong.

I don't think it'll even sniff those numbers. I'm expecting 20-30K with the full release.

It's just another one of those Microsoft Studio games like Avowed. I'm not even sure who they're for.

If it does 100K, I'll eat crow.
It's a Gamepass title, it's not a fair comparison is it? But you already know that.

Not necessarily.

For example, a recent example is Ball x Pit.

- It's not a heavy hitter.
- It is single-player.
- It is also on Game Pass.

Seen that game get a lot of pub lately, but fair enough. I shouldn't make broad statements before my second pot of coffee

Oblivion, Starfield, E33, and Wuchang were all day 1 Game Pass releases.

Releasing day 1 on Game Pass doesn't preclude a game from doing well on Steam. If it bombs on Steam, it isn't because of Game Pass.

Some obviously do better than others and that's great but I don't think anyone expects a sequel to a game that wasn't great will do mega numbers. I'm just hoping it's good and the reviews are accurate.

There's diversity and then there's diversity
You just know they had debates before they settled on this shot.

"ok so black dude with 2 prosthetic limbs goes front & center, obviously. Latinx goes just slightly behind him. White Reddit self insert chick can stand on equal footing with the Latinx but she has to stand more off to the side. Muslim coded lady also stands on equal footing but she gets to cover up most of the normal looking white guy, who has 2 people standing in front of him"

Agree it was pretty mid but the first game was successful, it sold over 5 million copies.

People paying 100 bucks for those disgusting advance access are the useful idiots of this industry. What a morons.
the funny part is that they are paying for early access in all sense of the word these days. Even at normal launch 90% of games are 'early access' that are unfinished buggy mess.

I just looked through my steam library and I see Stalker 2 still isn't fixed 1 year later after launch and they are already announcing paid DLC's rofl

The game even gives you a debuff if you ordered the premium access, at least they have some sense of humour. Pretty sure its some microsoft exec forcing it and if Obsididan had their way they wouldn't do that.
