Clarkys suggestion is good. Here's another good one...



The only tip I'd really give a new player is that light ammo sucks against ARC. There seems to be a lot of friction that ARC are too difficult/bullet spongey but that really gets solved once you start using heavy ammo weapons on them.

Smokes alone might be the single best throwable. The smoke area lasts awhile and covers a good area.
You can use it to trick enemies, push enemies, escape, or simply to more safely loot something or someone.

With me absolutely not having fun at all with BF6, I'm considering trying to get a code for this on the cheap side, if possible.
 
Didn't like the experience during the Beta's or the Server Slam, but man every time I see this game I feel like playing it, although I suck balls at it. Have some extra cash right now, was planning to get BF6 but I tried Redsec last night and it did not feel good at all. Now I'm thinking about this...again! I shall live vicariously through your impressions and stories GAF.
 
So is this as insanely obtuse as Tarkov where you don't even have a fucking map or compass and you have no idea where the fuck you are? Or is it more like DayZ?

It's great at what it does, which is a combination of Isekai and shonen. It contains interesting lore, concepts, and a cool plot setup.

Don't expect S tier writing, however do expect S-tier fight scenes in high budget animation.

In the show I just like the way they handle PvPvE. One of the first episodes in season 1 is literally a group of hunters using the main character and his friend as easy bait for a boss they weren't prepared for, which led to a PvP fight between them.

There are other situations like that in the show where other characters are like 'hey man now isn't the time for this PvP squabble, there are level ?? Beast-tier enemies here, we have to stay focused'. By making the PvE enemies the actual threat (instead of a background annoyance like most online games) in a PvPvE title it makes for a much more interesting experience imo.

There are some Isekai/fantasy anime out there with some really cool and unique mechanics that I always thought should be put in video games, like the Shield from Shield Hero as another example.
 
I've never played his genre before, but I'm intrigued by the hype. Is it solo friendly or do I need to find a group to play with?

Also, is it super complicated to get into or can a casual player play?

The genre by deffiniton isn't friendly. There's is a couple of video's post up the page a bit with some beginner tips.

Its not super complicated though. Do a run, do some simple missions ( collect x amount of stuff for example) and get out. You'll pick up things you can sell or mod your weapons with once you get back to base. Run of thumb is don't make much noise, avoid enemy contact at first and keep your head down.

There's a solo queue.
 
I am so ready for this game and with Satisfactory out next week for PS5 gaming has never felt better.

Per my calculations we need 1.18 minutes to access the ban vault, 2.42 to open it and .55 to find and release gigabowser.

JRPGs aren't bringing down the overall state of the industry. These endless me-too Tarkov-wannabes are tiresome, derivative, and reductive to the medium.

Disagreement is part of discussion - and I strongly rebuke the value of this "extraction shooter" slop. "Mario 64 moment?" Mario 64 represented inventiveness and creativity - Nintendo at its nadir, and the advent of the next generation of gaming. Seeing as I have successfully turned my IRL personality into Extraction Genre dude (the coolest of dudes), I don't think it's fair to begin the celebration until I begin camping extracts against you all.

This.

People innately understand that the JRPG has no potential to explode commercially and impact the entire industry. That event already took place in the early 90s.

People who dislike online PvP are genuinely afraid that the Extraction genre could become the next big thing and are doing their best to spread negativity and/or FUD. For example, they say "Endless Tarkov wannabes" but they can never name more than 5 without the help of Google. These very people can name 50+ JRPGs.

Their logic isn't actually far off.

Or maybe some people just like different things. Weird I know....

I've been playing the Marathon test this last week and shock horror I'm finding excellent.

One mans slop is another man's butter and vice versa. You couldn't pay me to play Exp33, way too many baguettes for me.
