Arc Raiders |OT| Gaming's Next Mario 64 Moment™

Not bad, but still not a fan to loose anything at all. Will so how i feel when it happens.
Think of guns/loot as just a resource like gold in any other game.

You aren't going to pick up and find the "best gun in the game" and then lose it.

You're leveling a character skill tree, crafting better items to use, etc as you use these resources.

This game unlike Tarkov, always has a free loadout for you to use so you can scrounge up resources to keep playing and progressing.

You have quests to do, and various ways to accomplish some.

It's really not as gloom and doom as people think lol.

Edit: I see you are referring to the seasonal optional wipe. Nvm. Still leaving my post for those scared of losing items in general in these games.

You actually make it sound very enticing to play lol. I like the idea of the game, levelling myself up and getting cool loot etc. but I wonder what the ultimate goal of the game is outside of looting and fighting other players. Is there more to the PVE or a point you get to where you 'finish the game'?

There is bots on the map that would take several groups willing to work together , having tricked out gear, to even take down. That you could look at as the ultimate end game chase.

A lot of the chase here is the quests, getting to cosmetically trick your guy out and your base, and amass hopefully at some point sick guns to make other players lives miserable and take on the nasty AI.

Do not be fooled. You could ignore the PvP altogether and have plenty of scaling challenge to work towards on quests and AI combat alone.

Often games like this launch with no true end game because there is a lot here to do before 90% of players make it. By then with feedback and development time it gets layered on strategically.

Rough start, but back in the game.

Took out 3 raiders and extracted.

Motoring now. Don't remember TT2 being as brutal as this, feels like the dev's played Marathon this last week. Could be more pvp but my memory is a little hazy.

I only played two matches during the server slam and kind of just made up my mind that it wasn't for me, but it does sound much more appealing when you take a different approach to the game.

I might grab it and give it a fair shake to see if it's for me, although I'm a bit apprehensive to pick it up just in case it really isn't for me. I'll think about it, but thanks for selling me on the idea of the game!

This is how an extraction shooter is done,no matter how much i die i just want in again. And i am in again in a heartbeat!

Quick, fast and snappy! Once in game its up to you how you want to play, aggressive, sneaky, slow, whatever you want.

Lets just say i dont want to be an another company releasing an extraction shooter the coming year.

Not much sleep gonna happen the coming days.

Marathon will give this a run for its money no problem. Different take on the genre but just as fun, if not more so.

I just sunk 50 hours in it in 6 days. Its really coming together. Surprised me for sure.

Did it change that much? Also, you're about to piss people off talking nicely about Marathon here. lol

I think I'll take your advice. Dying doesn't really matter that much, loot and weapons don't really matter that much. It's all about being more than the sum of its parts, I guess.

Dunno its the only test I've played so don't have a point of reference. Needs some work still but it's borderline excellent.

Not what some people wanna hear but me and a few others on here really enjoyed it.

Not taking anything away from this game, this is really good so far also.

Yea ok I bit the bullet and caved in because of all the hype that I can't even understand and see. I think I'm starting to see it now, have to turn off my looter shooter brain and just go in for the experience and not to "progress". I'm not used to this kind of moment to moment experience but I love the world building that I may just stick around for a while to see where this is all going.

So you're in agreement with him? Geez......how much changed? lol
The combat loop is great. They added a fair bit solos, prox chat, got a bit of a glow up, dropped the TTK. I don't know how it played before but they are really getting there. After all the shite surrounding it i was expecting to check it out then drop it. I played nothing else while the test was on.

Pretty much anyone who doesn't listen to the voices and is into these types of games has said the same thing.

Its absolutely brutal.

Convince one homie to pick it up and play with you and boom you're in the clear.

I'm 5 raids successful so far and completed 3 quests. Level 2.

Believe in yourself.

Worst case? $40 flush and you know never to trust GAF again.

Or watch a content creator you like play it.

Now I know why I'm so drawn to AR. This appears to be (imo) a spiritual successor to TLOU Factions in a lot of ways, which was my absolute jam back in the day.

I would at start of picking up a the game look at the workshop tab. See what you need to build different benches. Learn to recycle and get those built.

From here when you're going for pure looting quests or looting, use free loadouts. Get a full bag, and elevator out. Break items back down to build benches.

Along the way amass some level 1 guns for free from the free loadout.

Next use gun bench to start upgrading guns. Save higher level ones for quests asking for combat. For those go in sweaty. Don't worry about loot. Kill the targets. Get out.

I usually focus on one gun to bring in and 3 stacks of ammo. 3-5 bandages. 3 shield recharges.

Play safe and smart.

Pretty soon you will find the gameplay loop and how to go about it.

Death is going to happen but you know how to adapt, know what to rebuild from benches; etc.

In a lot of ways it shares rogue like elements if and when you do truly have a few bad raids back to back and lose resources. Clawing back up, but you'll have several ways to do it. Loot you have to build, money to outright buy, or just going in with freeload out and slowly rebuild to then continue your progress.

If a retard like me can do it anyone can. Check YT guides too. Plenty of resources,

You can make your PvE goals. There are ARC elites and ARC bosses. Think of them like the world bosses from World of Wacraft (e.g. The four dragons or Kazzak from WoW Classic), you need multiple groups to work together to kill them.

This is just insanity, murder hobos fucking everywhere. i haven't been able to extract even ONCE
Playing solo? Id advise going in with a basic kit with randoms for a while to get used to the game.

Solo can be rough.

Yeah, I don't understand this experience right now. I just keep getting murdered from the back by psychopaths without mics. I don't get the point of the developers here, I thought the first area was for people to let them feel out the game in their own pace in some sense.

Give it some time. Don't go to the highlighted areas at first, sure fire way of running into others. Pick some buildings out the outskirts to loot and get out.

Sneek around. With these games everything you do will make noise and attract either players, arc or both. If you spot someone and they don't spot you use your position and get the jump on them. Not many friendlys around just now because the game is new.

The game just launched. Everyone is in the dam.

When you hit level 3 the buried city unlocks.

That doesn't mean assholes can't just 24/7 the dam but I don't think you can keep getting the items you need to level at the dam nor will quests be there.

In a day or two the dam will be less chaotic but there's no reason a dick head can't camp elevators or hot loot spots. Check your map.

If you're patient go for the last elevator and wait until a minute or two is left. Most will be gone by then or dead.

Or find an elevator, wait for someone else to call it, then bang them.

If you're dying in the world before elevator, be mindful how much noise you make, mind doors are open or not, look for dead bodies etc.

AKA you must unretard yourself young chromosome infused son.

Does anyone know what time CCU numbers typically peak in a given day? At what point will ARC Raiders begin to drop today? Saturday is the big test too right?

Depends in the game but something like this usually in around 3 hours or so from now I'd guess. Saturdays and Sundays are usually the biggest days.

220k and rising, seems like a really decent result.
