What will be PS6s unique selling point?

in advance: I haven't turned my PS5 on in months…

What will be sonys USP?

Nintendo has exclusives and the switch can switch.

It will have a cheaper price tag compared to Xbox magnus anus.
Exclusives are over on both sides if sony keeps releasing their games on PC. Hell even hell divers 2 released on Xbox series.

Lets assume PS6 will be 600$. PS+ is another 80$, so for the next 7 years with online Multiplayer = 1160$
Xbox box box thing and free online = 1200$

xbox pc will be 50% more powerful according to rumors, free online MP, multiple stores to get cheap games , Game pass, Xbox BC, emulation up to PS4, backlog of windows games of the last 30 years or so and so on.

What is sonys USP gonna be for next gen?

timed exclusives!? Dual sense 2 with boomerang dildos!?

What do you think?

Wont be buying either on launch...

What is the unique selling point of next gpu and cpu.

Same reason here

I play games on console because I prefer to play games on console. And I'm going to buy the Ps6 because of better hardware.

Why do people buy cellphones every single year, or why do PC gamers upgrade their components often? It's because people like having the latest and greatest thing and they're willing to shell out to get it.

It's always gonna be the first-party exclusive games that sell consoles for console makers. It's exactly why Xbox lost all its market.

By PS6 hopefully Sony will be well recovered from the GaaS chasing debacles by Herman. And people will want to buy it when you have a strong lineup of first-party games.

It'll be the only option on the market for people that want a gaming console, outside of a Nintendo Switch. A lot of people don't have the interest, time, or money to mess around with a PC.

Sony won't even need to try at this point, dude.

Their games will be on the next xbox too! And will probably even look better lol

From a software perspective, it will be the only place to play most AAA games on a console.

From a hardware perspective, we're yet to see, but I suspect they'll push further on games being faster and pushing more on screen at once. (Think UE5 demo)

Since exclusives are dead (at least for sony/Microsoft)

I can only think of 3 USPs:
ease of use
Physical games
Lower initial cost

There are still about 2 years until the PS6 comes out and we already have several threads of FUD against a console that doesn't even exist yet, relax, the console is going to sell very well and will be alone in its market.

It will be cheaper than an equivalent PC and has a closed Sony system (which is more plug 'n play than a PC system), those are "the advantages".

The rest (software, controller, etc.) will eventually be available on the PC.

Many of you say that this will be the only way to play on a console, but how is it different from the current Xbox, which uses a Windows kernel?

The only difference is that it will include external stores such as Steam and others, but it will also have the current Xbox store with games in UWP format, so the experience should be the same (download and play, no graphics options or tweaks), at least for games from the Xbox store.

The selling point will be that it is the latest/greateast console in the PlayStation ecosystem. If the last two generations have proved anything it is that none of the stuff you've mentioned (other than price....and maybe boomerang dildos) really matter. People bought into PlayStation with PS4. They carried over into PS5 because that's where their games and friends are. They will do the same with PS6.

It's going to be simpler than that even.

Xbox will be in PC pricing stratosphere. Switch 2 won't have the graphics / performance for AAA(A) games.

Sony is there by default if they get their pricing to non crazy level. So if you don't want to pay $1000+ and want to play games at high res and frame rates, you would get a PS6.

Their fucking games rule, that is why I keep coming back every gen. Give me my PS6.
Intergalactic PS6 is saying hi to me. I like my ND games day and date.
Wait for Intergalactic to be played on a windows based machine?

PS6 will basically be like a PS5 Pro Pro, with it leaning even more heavily into ray tracing and AI upscaling

Check impressions of the ally x. The promise of console-windows remains a promise, so far.

My guess it wont have and I don't think it needs one. No one is doing the math and paying $1200 upfront instead of over the next 7 years. People don't think about money like that. My guess is Sony is just expecting their current fan base to stick with them and frankly why wouldn't they?

Yea if MS pulls it off perfectly then you're right it should be the same but I don't think MS can do it and even if it was the same why would people leave PS for it? On top of paying nearly double for it?

Yeah, if we think about that specific space in the console business, the $400 to $600 market, PS6 will be all alone. I think they can still price themselves out of the market for a lot of casuals if they go above $600, but I'd wager more than a few of the diehard Xbox fans left are going to opt for the only console left over the $1200+ alternative.

Yep, and that's why I think Sony will make sure that at least the DE model will be under $600. There are about 100 million users that fall into this category and that's pretty big audience.

Probably something with AI, building on the controller's adaptive triggers, and/or releasing a cool portable companion device for your library.

I think they will slowly course correct from
The 2nd half of the ps5 gen.

They sell alot of units but people mostly play COD fortnite or EAFC on them.

So I think they will slowly start to claw back into the the PS4 gen with new leadership smaller budgets more creative games.

I think they got blinded by this whole live service nonsense.

I think marathon will do well as a more mainstream alternative to arc raiders from what I played.

They need to do something with the UI as well it doesn't feel very premium console from the future right now.

Given my windows/PC experience of late…

PS6 has massive appeal for those who continue to prioritize reliability/stability, likely FSR4/5 upscaler vs PSSR, and better overall specs than PS5/Pro.

This is ignoring the physical media advantage which for me is a big plus.
