How much is your ram today?

Dodge Ram GIF by Jeep Do Brasil

My ram is 8000 ( or 7800? I forgot but it can reach 8000 for sure ) cl36 I bought when the high speed ram was starting to roll.

Some dude sold them to me for 100$ Canadian ( 70 US ?) ( 16x2 gigs g.skill )

Was not very happy because it was cl36 . But now ? Lol I am praying they never die on me . Because if they do. I am not buying ram or changing PC parts for the next 2 years till all the crazy shit stops. I am not paying these shitty prices. This will include GPUs and CPUs too.

If Nvidia wants to ride the wave of 'let's increase prices and offer a 6090 for $2500,' they can shove it.

I have the 5090FE at MSRP, and I still think I am stupid for paying that much to play a couple of games on high settings.

Path tracing can fuck off. Along with any unoptimized game that require a 5090 power when it runs like shit even at 4k dlss with no ray tracing

Lmao, Jesus Christ, last year I ordered 64GB of G.SKILL Ripjaws S5 DDR5 RAM. The total was $200.25, now it's showing $709.99 but it's on sale for $699.99. :pie_grinning_sweat:

God this is so stupid.

Who remembers what kind of RAM they have without having to pull up a receipt? Please check in. I'm curious. I couldn't tell you what kind of RAM I have if you offered me a billion dollars.

32GB DDR5 that came in a 7800x3D bundle at MicroCenter.

I had to look at my NewEgg order because it's fucking RAM lol

Built my Dad a PC with G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-5600 and a nice CPU, GPU etc. and he's spent most of his time playing Russian Fishing 4.

The RAM is going for £250 per 16GB.

Might have to go rob a stick, probably wouldn't even notice... :messenger_tears_of_joy:

My coworker's computer didn't boot today. He took it to IT and turns out somebody stole the 64Gb ddr5 from it.

There was a 16GB ram stick installed backwards in it. A 2nd coworker had one of his 16GB RAM sticks removed.

Would've been the perfect crime if they had just installed the 16GB stick correctly.

HyperX Fury 8GB 3200MHz DDR4 for $59 in 2021 to go with the OEM 8GB RAM that came with my prebuilt. It's now $63. So about the same--would RAM have usually dropped in price in 4 years?

I'm running a 5700x so I'm still on DDR4.

Used DDR4 is cheap but even that is going up. £84 on CEX for 32gb of 3600mhz, was £60 a few weeks ago. I certainly wouldn't be building a DDR5 PC today, I'd still go for AM4.
Same setup as mine. Everyone was like no you need am5 and ddr5. I ditched my corrupted 3600 for a 5700x and kept my mobo. Got a 32gb ddr4 3600mhz kit for I think about $39. This was last spring.

Crazy same ripjaws today are $204

Last August I bought "Kingston FURY Impact 32GB (2x16GB) 5600MT/s DDR5 CL40 Laptop Memory Kit of 2 | Lower Power Consumption | Intel XMP 3.0 | Plug N Play | KF556S40IBK2-32", so two sticks of that brand new for $92 altogether. I'm seeing two sticks for $300 now, just four months later.

Paid $115 and $95 probably 5+ years ago for two separate kits of DDR4 3200 g.skill RAM with 16-16-16-36 timing and neither kit is in stock. Nor is anything else in stock in other models with exact timings.

So, I posted about 10 today's ago that the DDR4 I bought two years ago had jumped from $54 to $164. It's now at $220! They've gone up more in a little over a week than they cost to buy in total 2 years ago.

And we're just getting started.

32GB DDR5 6000MHz Kit - March 1st 2023 -> 170€(tax included)

32GB DDR5 6000MHz Kit - Today -> 470€(tax included) -> price increase of 176%

Still bad in germany, but not that bad like in NA.
