I would say incorporating direct drive in that form factor, wireless, was quite the feat.

might be, but the Jogcon already had "primitive" force feedback back in the 90s.
so it doesn't seem that far fetched, so I am just surprised it took this long.

There was a crowdfunded one a year or 2 ago. Got funded and if I recall, ripped everyone off.
There's been talks and prototypes of a couple others but nothing came about.

Just when I thought I had all the controllers I needed - 1 8bitdo ultimate2, 18bitdo ultimate, 2 8bitdo 2Cs, 1 Dualsense, 1 wheel-pedal-shifter, 1 HOTAS, 1 8bitdo genesis style controller, 1 stick drifting series controller - they come up with something new for me to waste my money on.

That's cool. I don't play quite enough racing sims (changing very soon) that I would drop money on this particular controller, but it's a neat enough concept that I want to keep an eye on.
Sort of related: This Logitech G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel + Pedals is going for $199 at Amazon. I've been waiting for another big price drop on this, and I finally got one.

Great idea! I might consider trying it if it's cheap. I wonder if there has ever been a racing game that used two sticks in combination. What it basically does is pushing the left analog stick up while pulling the right analog stick down at the same time (or vice versa). Usually we steer by simply pushing a single analog stick left or right. Force feedback would of course make this controller much more effective, but with this kind of combined moveset, playing with the sticks could be enjoyable.

Even now, I still want a Jogcon. I have to know for myself how it feels to use.
PlayStation peripherals like this, the neGcon, the Analog Joystick (not to be confused with the controller), and the BIOHAZARD Dedicated Controller have always had this weird quality to them that make me want to check them out.

Yeah, But that moves your middle fingers for gas and brake duty, making the dual thumbs on the wheel more cramping. I have my controller in front of me and I'm testing it out.
Maybe it won't be a big deal if I actually use it. But as I'm trying to feel it out on my actual controller, it feels odd.
I guess you could use the left thumbstick for gear shifting though. Still awkward, but maybe less cramping.

Could have some little paddle shifters or have a couple back buttons around where your pinky rests.
Yeah could be that. Forgot about back buttons. Your middle fingers could be resting on some back buttons for that for sure.

As somebody that has owned and used both the NegCon and JogCon controllers this would not be comfortable for more then maybe 30 minutes.
If somebody wants to use a controller for racing games you should just buy a DualShock or DualSense and learn to roll the sticks. What I mean by that is simply you push the left analog all the way forward as if you were walking perfectly straight in a FPS/TPS/whatever and then roll the stick around the edge of the boundary to turn versus keeping the stick upright and pushing it left and right. This allows you to turn smoothly without the jerking motions but also works better in track racers versus something like Horizon.
The reason I say buy a PlayStation controller is because IMO this feels like absolute shit on Xbox controller due to the feeling of the sticks and it's nearly impossible. Now I haven't used enough third party controllers to know if it's viable on something like the GameSir controllers or 8bitdo.

It's awkward but once you get used to it it's quite usable for certain types of games but the only game I've really ever been able to use it with was Ridge Racer. Same with the NegCon.
The problem is that as I stated above it's much more taxing on your hands IMO.
MyArcade has a flight stick coming out that has a small trackball, spinner, and 12 digit keypad. That should meet the rest of your input needs.
