Arc Raiders |OT| Gaming's Next Mario 64 Moment™

Woah woah grandpa. 👴🏻

Does that make you and @Topher the boards certified boomers? What was it like gaming on a black and white TV? 📺
I'm older than clarky. And me and Topher used to play Home Pong together - from a distance.

Edit: My kids are 4 and 10, thus I'm no grandpa, duh 🤷‍♂️

Where's the January February roadmap?

They need an item where if you're knocked, it's really difficult to finish you off. Give knocked players some kind of electrical shield that makes it impossible to finish them with bullets and forces you to strangle them for 20 seconds. Being DBNO makes fights way more entertaining.

after 500 hours , I am starting to get a little burnt out. It's been a great run.

Once they release new content and such I will be back. But back to the backlog for now.

Got a couple of my co-workers in on the game now. Steep learning curve for them but they are slowly getting the hang of it. Since I ran like 95% solo, playing it again after the reset as a trio has been fun and kinda refreshing since you gotta play the game much differently. Whole new set of challenges lol

Don't know about you guys but I'm playing in a utopia lol. Have done 40 raids till now and was ratted only twice. Statistically more peaceful than the real world.

Elaborate?

Wouldn't mind having some sort of self-revive, make it an extremely rare item though. Since it'll ruin gameplay if it was easy to find

On another note, since I'm a chicken I just did my first cold snap map on blue gate and found a rocketeer drive, dropped everything I was doing and gtfo of there.

So many levers to pull to balance a self revive. You can make it so rare and difficult to use that it's worthless. I'd say it's a common sense item that is inevitable.
I want more loot, more trinkets with legendary rarity, more ways to burn money, because its pretty much worthless and maybe randomised loot locations, so red zones move around the map

Agree with all of that.

But a rare, balanced, self revive kit would benefit all that. I'd say the easiest thing Embark can do to improve the game is make the loot more interesting. Giving knocked players more interesting choices is all part of that.

Could be similar to how Fortnite does it with their self revive, when it's initiated, it takes about 7-8 seconds to revive yourself, this wouldn't be so great in PVP since the enemy player can finish you off during that time, but against ARC's it could be viable. Make it a consumable/gold colored rarity with no blue print.

You also run the risk of losing it if you're killed with it not on your safe pocket and I'm pretty sure you can't use items in your safe pocket, you have to equip it first, and you can't access your inventory if you are already down, but if you have it equipped when you're down but not out, it'll give a prompt to use it.

It would also be cool if they had an invisibility ability when knocked. Players could leave small blood splatters every 10 yards to make it fun to find them. Knocked state is really unexplored in games imo. There's a lot of fun stuff they could do with players who are no longer an offensive threat.

I always hated that in COD back in the day. Last Stand perk I think it was called. What made it worse is a regular IRL double tap doesn't work because there's a little gap of invincibility between regular being alive and Last Stand.

I like both of you guys' idea, and as you've surely seen in my previous posts I'm new to the game. My concern is that if it were a rare single use item, wouldn't it create a snowball situation that the more you play/farm the bigger advantage you have? It might lead to resentment from players with less time to play no?

Poorly implemented in CoD, imo

Before the expedition, I died a few times, but since then everything has been pretty quiet. Someone shot at me while I was extracting, but I was already out, and once I was shot at when I was already downed by arcs.

I don't know what makes this game different, but I'm usually a total PvP player. But here, I don't need PvP at all. Maybe it will change over time. In Marathon or Hunt, i don't even think for a millisecond before shooting, but in Arc it's somehow very calm and friendly, and I like that.

That's already the game. New players already have fewer options than experienced players. They key is making it fun to go up against more powerful players/items.

I can't play anymore, I don't want repeat stuff so I'm not doing expedition, after all workshops upgrades, blueprints there is nothing to do in this game, I don't want to go in to kill players, for KD I prefer to play BF6. Well it was fun 70 hours.

Its okay, play something else until new content. Game will change a lot next year

That's why I said make it gold color rarity, which is legendary I think, plus no blue print. That way it's not really worth the time to farm unless you are a masochist. I wouldn't limit it to any particular map either. So that players can't just attempt to farm that map. They could eventually make it as a reward for hard quests or events well.

Granted I have no idea how often legendary loot drops, but I've been playing since the past two weeks and only two legendaries I've acquired have been Snap Hook(from raider deck) and a close friend gifted me the Jupiter blue print. Never found any out in the field yet.

There is no need to complicate being killed. You get killed, kit up and try again. I'd much prefer they add more interesting loot, more little gadgets and fun things like the instruments.

After the wipe I went full on passive/PVE and the lobbies have changed drastically. The PVE people really have no excuse because as soon as you stop shooting every lobby is happy kumbaya, my lord - shenanigans.

Almost done with the main expedition as well and leveled up all of the work stations as well. Shit's so easy at the lower/PVE ranks. Only downside is that if you spawn into a lobby 5 mins later than its starting time everything will have been looted and then some lol.

How is didn't win best sound design at the game awards just goes to show what a joke they are.

I go back and forth with BF6 and Arc on best sound design.

The sound in Arc is incredible. It adds to the world building, it adds tension, and it informs you of yohr environment.

For BF6, its a return to form for me. Its solid, adds to the chaos, and brings me back to how I felt about the BF franchises sound design back in the day. The explosions, the destruction sounds, the debris, its just awesome.

With all that said, yea I do feel Arc should have won...but BF6 audio is solid.

So many good maps in this game...but man I hate stella montis...the map layout doesn't make sense to me.

I find the sound quality in BF muffled and low compared to ARC. ARC not only has amazing sound design, but very crisp audio quality too

I want more power divergence in the existing arsenal first. As someone else said, the weapons in the game thus far are all terribly flat and situational. Fuck balance tbh, it makes rare finds ultimately feel very disappointing... and pointless. I have the aphelion and I've crafted and used it precisely once. Back into my stash it goes.

I hate to compare this game to Destiny again (I can't stand that game anymore as it is), but I remember when some exotics there were so unique and powerful that the excitement and allure factor of actual obtaining them was downright magical. Instead, Embark seem to be in closer alignment with how Arrowhead do these things, which is boring.

By far my least played map. I'd be curious to hear why the map design team went with short range + confusing layout as pillars there.
Its rapidly becoming my most played map. Once the map makes sense you can be anywhere in under 30 seconds, it has the best loot and the most PVP.

Its a nice change from the general pace of the rest of the game.

I believe Marathon has one. Not sure this game needs one though, the game is casual enough. Knowing you has a self res would remove a lot of tension.

Got the Bobcat Blueprint on locked gate earlier, then we ran it back and my best mate and my son both got it as well, it's nice running round Stella Montis with a Bobcat, we just ran riot in the abortion clinic, people shooting us on their free loadout rattler 1's and we fire back with Bobcats and Torrentes, good luck lol
