Steam best of 2025

Surprised to see Monster Hunter Wilds in the Platinum tier. Also, Call of Duty.

lawl! Schedule 1 & R.E.P.O grossed higher than many high budget games.
Those are games made with frozen pizza and soda budgets. Stardew Valley is another example of a game selling unimaginable numbers and made by a single dev.

VII Rebirth in Silver was good to see. A year-late PC port, the 2nd entry in a trilogy and it looks like it's done reasonably well according to the sales estimates.

Stardew is STILL in the highest tier of most played games. It's crazy how much better it is than modern Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons it is.

Borderlands 4 being so high surprised me. Didn't think the franchise was this popular still.

Ninja gaiden 4 not even being on this list sucks. Platinum curse strikes again.

Surprised to see Digimon as high up as it is.

I hear it's a great game, and better than the latest Pokemon, but I thought Digimon was pretty niche.

Nice mix of games.

Glad/surprised Digimon got up there, sad Ninja Gaiden 4 didn't, and Civ 7 deserves to be kicked the f off the list entirely.

You are surprised to see a game with 1.4 million CCU to be in the "most profitable" tier?

If anything, I am surprised Exp33 is only in gold.

Another interesting thing, we know that Bloodlines 2 is a total flop that lost Paradox around 27 million USD and it is in the bronze tier. So probably other games in that tier that had similar budget to BL2 are flops too.

Always funny to see top selling lists and always funny that the people saying XYZ game didnt sell shit that are in top are nowhere to be found. Glad to see Cyberpunk 2077 in the top again for the n'th row since launch just like its brother did every year for many years, Witcher 3. Deserves all the money for being the best game ever made.

The most impressive from Platinium is Arc Raiders because it has middle ground price point meaning sold a lot of copies. The other one are either MTX shops, sold lot if copies because they are cheaper than a pack of cigarettes (Schedule) or you sell 10 copies and make a million (80-100 euro versions…MH, Borderlands, CoD)

It's broken for me now, but one sus thing I noticed when I was looking at it before was Silksong was a tier higher than Exp33 in New Releases, but a tier lower than Exp33 in 2025 revenue.

There is a slight difference in the date used in each tab, but this still seems hard to explain.

Which games are you talking about? I'm not seeing a single title top the selling list that people claimed sold poorly.

Yep, people dissed BL4 and even COD on Steam.
Well, CoD selling like shit and CoD still being a top seller can both be true. CoD sells so well that even the worse selling version will be a hit compared to other games. The fact that Microsoft is freaking out about it means it probably didn't sell well comparatively.

As for Borderlands, that's just the series in a nutshell, it's been one of those massively popular series that people keep pretending like is niche or something. It's probably one of the most under the radar massively successful game series in history.

Battlefield 6 putting in work.
RIP Vince Zampella.

Doom TDA all the way in 51+

Doom is in the Gold category.......which ends at 24th.

AC Shadows flopped everywhere, not just in Japan

Expedition not making it to Platinum is surprising.

This was generated December 15th.....it winning game of the year will boost its sales the same way Control got a boost from its awards.
We will have the final list January 15th, I wouldnt be shocked if it enters Platinum after its second wind buzz from the game awards.

Glad to see KCD2 to make it to Platinum! And its good to see Digimon and Anno in Gold at least.

WTF is Schedule I????

For a AAAA game, with budget probably over $300M, no. 20 on Steam is a MEGA-GIGAFLOP
