We got Zelda BoTW Full blown VR BEFORE GTA 6

Looks like a mod team been busy and created a full blown VR mod for Zelda Breath of the Wild before GTA 6 released.

Also looks like the gooners are hunting down the Great fairy's, Nintendo ain't gonna be happy about this one.

I was looking at this yesterday and damn I'm excited to waste hours getting this working, to then never play it.

In all seriousness, after hours of tinkering, I still can't get either Switch Zelda game running in an acceptable manner on my gaming laptop. I own the games, just want to play at higher res and fps and it's more of an exercise in frustration. I imagine it would be the same experience with this mod.

What makes it worse is I see people running smoothly on their phones, or PC hardware that is weaker than mine. I recognize it's a me problem, but I usually am pretty handy with such things.

This mod team; Flat2VR, are legit. I absolutely love what they're doing. There's so many games that have potential for them to do. And the fact they do official and unofficial VR conversions.

This mod uses the Wii U version, just FYI.

Well, the Zelda games are two of the most difficult games to run better than base hw. You really need a beefy pc to even lock TotK to 30, 60fps requires a very good CPU, as these games are heavily cpu-bound. And LOTS of tinkering. Shader compilation really makes it hard to brute force past stuttering.

What are your specs?

Probably why this is for the Wii U version of BotW, as CEMU is a far more mature and performant emulator.

8845HS CPU 4070 laptop GPU. My understanding was I had enough juice, but the results haven't been there.

Very impressive video. Wonder what it would feel like somersault back while fighting a Lynel? I have Wii U copy and good computer, but no VR...

Hmmm, yeah they should run pretty well.
I usually swap between Citron and Eden emulators, depending on the game. It's been a minute, but I think I landed on Citron with TotK Optimizer. I played BotW at launch, so can't speak on that.
