Xbox Developer Direct with new looks at Fable and Forza Horizon 6 announced for January 22

I may be hoping for too much but i'm optimistic with Forza Horizon 6.

I think the general consensus is that they pretty much perfected the formula with 3 and then went backwards heavily with 4 and 5 with the dumbed down progression systems and added cringe, probably due to those two games releasing on Game Pass and trying to attract a wider audience.

But the fact they've finally listened to fan feedback with the location the game is set makes me hope they've listened to all the negative feedback the last two games received too.

Plus, the previous gaps between Horizon games were 2, 2, 2 and 3 years. By time this launches the gap will be around 5 years, there's no way radical changes haven't been made in that time for the franchise, and to be honest, I think it needs exactly that.

I sadly got a bit bored of 5 way too quickly. I honestly dislike how easily you get the most crazy cars, any feeling of accomplishment is gone.

Seriously, let me start with some trash ass car, let me have to race and win and get a better car or earn money and just buy a better car. But earning or winning some crazy sports car super early on just isn't it for me. Let me work for it, basically. But i doubt they'll do this.

Fable and FH6 in the same year was something I didn't expect. A studio releasing two major AAA games after many years of development and with such high expectations... At Playground Games, they must be nervous or very confident in their projects... or both at the same time.
 
I still reckon Fable won't release. The only chance it has is if they day one the game on PS5. It's not selling shit on Xbox.

As an Xbox/PC player you are probably right. I am definitely buying on PC (for the mods and not on MS store). Forza is cross buy and integrated into their servers so I will buy on Xbox.
 
I hope we get real gameplay of Fable. Jez said the combat was like Witcher 3 which is not a good sign IMO so I'm hoping it's much better than that.

I don't remember them specifically saying "a few months later"... just "later" (without even specifying if it would also be within 2026).

I think the "a few months later" thing is speculation based on what happened with Indy.

Said that, all depend when the Game launch. If It is Sep-Dec.... a PS5 version on 2026 will be difficult to see. If It is Q1 2026, the possibilities will grow.

that is probably the general consensus. But is it Microsoft's? FH5 was by far the biggest seller and had a huge tail, it blew up on PS5. From their POV all is well and I see no reason to think FH6 won't be the same way.

they have no reason to do this anymore, they're not even trying to sell xbox anymore... and fh5 was a huge hit on ps5

Two big F games from XBOX. I enjoy Forza a lot and I would like to play a fun fantasy game in Fable.


I will be in the FORZA club.
 
Looking forward to Forza just because its Japan but if they haven't improved the games formula as someone earlier said another miss from me , i need to see what Fable looks and plays like, I'm immune to Microsoft and their "lets try and win people back with nostalgia" plays.
 
I hope they change something about vehicle availability in FH6. It's really not great when, after just an hour at the wheelspin, you can already win the best cars. I'd like to start slowly with the lower-tier vehicle classes and work my way up to the higher ones.
 
Hope Fable turns out good. Really dig the graphics and art style. But man they need to stop to show that ugly chick.
 
Excited for both Fable and FH6. Can't seem to peel myself away from GT7 for a different racing fix, but if it reviews well, I'm in!
 
I enjoyed Forza Horizon 5, with its South American theme, and after all this time I ended up buying the premium edition on sale yesterday after years of playing it on Gamepass, though yeah I do agree, after a point, you do end up wandering around aimlessly and they missed a BIG opportunity not to make it a Pacific Rift part 2 in all but name with no quad bikes/bikes....the setting was perfect for it...I doubt they'll deviate in FH6....but seeing as Sony won't ever revive the Motorstorm brand this game (FH5) was as close as we would get ....

I still can't believe they're making you play as a predefined character. The whole appeal of the older games was creating my own character and doing whatever the hell I felt like doing.

I'm still surprised that people are surprised. This is a high budget AAA cinematic RPG. It's like being shocked you can't play as other characters in Horizon, Uncharted, Witcher. They're doing a ton of motion capture and up close facial animation. Basically no game has ever done that with multiple characters. If they do, it has automated facial animation like Starfield or Outer Worlds 2.

Between Fable, BoR, and Replaced, it's (wonder of wonders) shaping up to be a decent year for Xbox. And that's not considering the heavy-hitters I don't care about (Halo, Gears, Forza).

I thought Jez at one point confirmed you can change the character? I really don't give a shit about ugly characters and all that but this one is extremely offensive and I'd really like to pick my own character. At least let me play as a male if I want.
 
These DD shows are for games releasing this year, right? Ideally they plan to release Fable way before November, so that they don't have to worry at all about whether GTA 6 gets delayed or not. Tired of that shit.

Doomed if they do, doomed if they don't. Also this Fable "humor" is getting old and cringy... It will be very divisive either way
 
I NEED fable to be good, please be good.

Sacrifice gears and forza on a sacred altar or something if you need to.
