Phil Spencer kicks off Xbox's 25 year anniversary with video and logo

Aside from a great year of Big classic IP releases and first party catalog... I think the perfect way to round off the celebration would be (at least) the announcement of new first-party hardware/console. Otherwise, it would feel rather lacking and simply be seen as a great year of first-party releases.

If the rumors and leaks are true, 2027 is the year. A late 2026 announcement, coinciding with the launch day of the original Xbox?

It just feels insulting.

No doubt there'll be a new anniversary controller or pair of socks announced, which no one will care about.

You would think AT MINIMUM the cucks would shadow drop a decent game.

With the new Xbox console people at least would be getting a Microsoft Windows license on top "for free", still being able to install Linux and multi-boot. 🍰

But Steam Machine..? 😒

Bro, just retire. Man looks like he aged 20 years while dismantling the product he claims to love.

Someone really pulled out all the creative stops when creating that logo, wow. The familiar icon, the console's name, and a 25. FANTASTIC!

There have been many times I have participated in forum discussions that we all find interesting, important, etc., even though the topic is of little interest to the non-enthusiast crowd. Seeing them still trot him out as the face of the brand made me wonder if maybe its just the enthusiasts who think Xbox has been coming up short time and time again?

But no, not this time. Hardware sales numbers don't lie. Going 3rd party did happen. And by all accounts it seems they are regrouping to focus on PC. It's not just us. It's everyone except the people at the top of MS in my opinion.
