The Xbox Developer Direct will feature a secret unannounced fourth indie game, Fable in development for PS5

I know you have a PlayStation *rollseyes*

You used to tell me you had an Xbox when trying to pretend not to be a fanboy... Keep it coming

Why have you resorted to personal attacks rather than answering reasonable questions as to why someone with a PS5 Pro and Switch 2 should cough up £480 for an Xbox Series X.

They were legitimate questions and considerations anyone would raise about investing in a console.

In fact why would anyone with no console choose a Series X right now?

I don't think Xbox Series consoles will be remembered at all when looking back. As you said, zero identity. Even the name of the consoles is wack. Xbox One had more personality and nobody barely remembers that console either.
Might be the most mismanaged brand I've seen. MS had it right during the early 360 era. Make affordable hardware, make up the loss with accessories and a subscription, and release fun games that cater to actual gamers. The Peter Moore era at MS really was something. If MS kept with that game plan and not try to make Kinect a thing, they could have won that era.

People still look at the OG and the 360 and remember them well, whilst the One and Series have very little to offer. It's like trying to have nostalgia for your microwave or alarm clock.

Still better than every other Bugthesda initial release in the last 3 decades. You probably have no idea how much worse original was on contemporary hardware.
standards have changed. it is one of the worst if not the worst launch of this generation.

several reviewers including DF pointed out that this day and date reveal and release models helps hide unoptimized releases like this. This practice unethical and borderline fraudulent, but right in line with Microsoft's entire ethos.

nope

Do you know what it is? If you do just let us know.

Standards are relative.

Just doesn't seem sustainable long term.

Still need a hook to get people to purchase Xbox hardware.

They've been there and done that, it didn't work hence the reason they went full third party in the first place.

What's not sustainable? Selling games across PS5/PS6 and PC is a surefire way to make a lot of money with the right games.

They clearly don't care about selling hardware anymore, it's over.

LOL, Calling someone a fanboy is now a personal attack.

Just admit and own what you are... A PlayStation generation fanboy, You'll not get caught out then.

Everyone's favorite Cyberpunk 2077 came out in a rougher state and still people used it as a showpiece. Everything is relative.
Cyberpunk was an absolute shit show dude so these aren't really helping your argument. At least that one improved massively over time, unlike the Oblivion remaster which is still a stuttering mess.

Not on PC with mods and reasonable settings it is not. Smooth as butter (if you have at least mid-range five year old hardware). The original ran worse on high end hardware of its release year.

Relying on community fixes isn't good enough bro, that mod is a game changer (though not perfect) but the console versions are still completely borked.

I think you're the last person to call out bizarre behavior given your unhinged fanboy rants that you have here on the forum from time to time.
I wasn't looking for your permission sir.

Let us know when we all forget what a Xbox Series console is. Will it happen in the next 30 years? 100 years? Will we be alive to know if you were right?

I truly wonder how long this multi-platform approach will last.
I am surprised that you think an exclusive approach has a chance.

Xbox is dead. There is no more Xbox OS. No more Xbox devkit. The new Xbox devkit is whatever PC devs have on their office. This is done. Microsoft trying to trick customers that this is an Xbox doesn't work and everyone knows it but Phill and his dildo looking CEO.

Multiplatform is the only way to go for them. Hell even sony is going that approach and they don't even need to outside of pure greed, destroying what made the PlayStation unique ... It's exclusive games from first to third party games that can't be played anywhere but their system .

Im guessing Microsoft moves to Playstation day one this year or do we think there could still be delays in releases? Like 6 months?

I think they need to move to day one, there is no way Fable will reach the same kind of sales 6 to 12 months later as day one.

I agree with both of you, but I think we're still in a phase of denial. I've still seen people speak and act as if Xbox is going to forge some grand comeback and this nightmare they're living in will end. All things considered, this being the new reality is still a relatively recent development.

I think it will still be a little longer before it just completely settles in. Especially when it comes to games, what few that remain, which were announced before this new status quo hit. Though, as long as Xbox still puts out consoles, there will probably always be a little flicker of hope from die hard fans who will only let go when death embraces them.

Plus, I can't deny that I do enjoy seeing it said again and again with each game that comes out. If for no other reason than knowing everyone who acted like a total jackass while denying it has to eat yet another plate of crow. Which isn't even exclusive to one fanbase.
It's like, bro instead of hoping the Xbox becomes what you want it to be, which is a PlayStation, just get a PlayStation. and now you can play Xbox games on it. It's not a big deal.

The delay release strategy is always stupid, because it doesn't actually incentivize people to buy hardware to play the game a year or six months early. But even if it did, Microsoft isn't trying to sell hardware anymore. The delay makes NO sense, release the game to the bigger audience when you actually have yoru marketing for it playing out.

Agreed and I had 2 XSX and a XSS.
But Xbox One (X) was pretty good so should leave it's niche.

People remember the Virtua Boy and the 3D0. Everyone on this board will be dead, buried and forgotten. Their kids will be dead buried and forgotten. The Xbox will be remembered after that. Some of the things people say are just so bizarre sometimes lol. All this board can even talk about is Xbox.
Damn, not sure what is a bigger insult. Calling an xbox a 3do, or a 3do an xbox

The 4th game is very possibly Kiln from Double Fine.

The next gen hardware is still a Console with Console SKUs of games. So yes, it will have devkits.

Ask the people who attended CES and got special access behind closed doors if they think Xbox is dead.

You have one more gen of being able to shout about how dead the Xbox platform and it's dev kits are. That's a few more years :)

Unannounced? Isn't Kiln from 2017.
The leak by insiders was reported as an indie tier game by a MS first party studio. Kiln trademark was refreshed last year, and Double Fine has 2-3 more projects. /r/gamingleaksandrumours thinks it's very likely Kiln.
yeah.. . no its not gonna be a console from the looks of it.

"future first party consoles" they're doing a portfolio of devices including Xbox PCs and Xbox Consoles.

Developer documentation still points towards the status quo of GDKX created fixed spec optimized Console SKUs.

Anything running Magnus and branded Xbox is meant to be hybrids, as in capable of running both PC and Console games.

Logical thing to do would be to release Fable II and III on PC in preparation for IV so of course that's not what Microsoft will do.

If it is then the rumour that it is an unannounced game is weird. That thing has been known for a very long time:
